Maynell House is ideally located in a delightful residential part of Old Felixstowe, just a short distance from the town centre and all its shops and amenities. Maynell House has a beautifully landscaped 2 acre garden, filled with mature trees and carefully tended lawns offering a variety of interesting surroundings and places to rest. There are many short walks in the vicinity and the sea and cliffs are nearby.

This late Victorian building was formerly the Felixstowe College, and has been sympathetically refurbished to retain original wooden panelled features, creating a superb home with a real difference. Maynell House has inviting lounges where residents can relax or socialise. Bedrooms have en-suite facilities, television and telephone access. All rooms are fully furnished, however, residents are encouraged to bring items of furniture and personal possessions with them so that their room can be a true 'home from home'.

Maynell House provides a high standard of residential care.

Care staff are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their skills, but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. Staff are available constantly to provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual.

Residents are assessed on a regular basis to ensure their needs are fully met. Appointments can be made with a visiting optician, dentist, and chiropodist. Maynell House has an in-house hairdressing salon that provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages. Catering staff provide delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, special diets can of course be catered for.

Maynell House is a delightful home, the staff are warm, friendly and very caring to the residents who are well looked after with dedicated staff who are both patient and sympathetic. I would have no hesitation in recommending Maynell House to anyone who needs residential care for their loved ones. It
is set in an ideal location with views overlooking lawns and a well kept charming garden.

My mother has advanced dementia and cannot walk unaided. She needs a lot of care and attention and the staff are wonderful with her - spending time just chatting so she never feels lonely. She has had a few falls recently and they always take the time to care for her injuries and to inform me when they
happen. The food is great and mum always eats well. They take her out in the garden which she loves and they keep her company in the evening when she can't sleep. Her personal needs are well attended to, and she is encouraged to join in activities when they have them. Overall it is a lovely home and mum is very happy.

Fantastic gardens to sit in and enjoy. Staff always caring and on hand! Father-in-law can be very difficult emotionally. But carers always have time to listen and offer support.
Excellent management team, always keep you informed.
Personally can't fault the home.

My father was admitted to Maynell House nearly 4 years ago, initially for a 2 week respite period. At the time he was very poorly and needed a great deal of care and attention. At the end of the 2 week period he wanted to stay. Since then he has enjoyed a very good quality of care, appropriate quantities
and types of food, good medical care when the needs arose. Maynell House has been excellent in keeping me informed about any incidents or accidents. At a time when the care industry is under such scrutiny, I would have no hesitation in recommending Maynell House.

Maynell House is a delightful old house with many original features and large and well maintained gardens. There are a number of rooms available to all including a pleasant dining room and a large lounge. The home is warm, welcoming and friendly. The rooms are of a good size and well appointed. The
staff are a good mixture of young and older carers all of whom provide excellent care. My mother is very comfortable here and I have no hesitation in recommending the home.

My grandmother has been here for approximately six weeks and I cannot fault the home. Well kept home and grounds, spotlessly clean and the staff seem to genuinely care about the residents. In particular the manager who is wonderful she has been very helpful and empathetic to our situation.

The home is always clean and smell free has flowers and a good atmosphere. The carers are kind, caring and considerate. My mother is the resident and sadly she does not always
co-operate with the carers, plus she is reluctant to eat. They try very hard and more patient than I might be. I am happy
and satisfied with the care provided. Activities are provided but mum is now 96 and won't join in much, she does enjoy a sing-song.

My grandad is registered blind but the home will still find activities for him to be able to join in, and what he will enjoy to do. So all residents can join in together. Also when he goes out on the mini bus a staff member will explain what they are passing and things seen so he feels involved and
can make a picture of his surroundings.

I feel that this is one of the best Care Homes in Felixstowe from those that I looked at for my father and (late) mother. I find the staff very caring and helpful and at times go the "extra mile". The surroundings and grounds are great and within easy access of shops or the sea front. Also events and
day trips are organized for those that wish to go out with a carer in their minibus.

In the few weeks my mother has been in Maynell House with a diagnosis of dementia she has changed, she is a different person. The residents are very friendly, the staff from carers to management are excellent. The food is very good because she is putting on weight. All in all I would give them top marks
10/10.
