Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC (August 2019), Mills Meadow care home in Framlingham, Suffolk, offers exceptional, personalised care. The purpose-built home provides residential and dementia care for older people, both permanently and on a short-term basis, as well as compassionate end of life care.

Mills Meadow has stunning lounges, a café with lots of homemade cake, a cinema room, art room and hair salon. All en-suite bedrooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, and residents can bring their own possessions and furniture to make their room feel more like home.

The lifestyle team works hard to guarantee residents and day club members always have something fun to do, with regular activities, entertainment and outings in the minibus.

All the staff are very caring to my sister. The bedroom and bathroom are excellent and kept very clean, all her clothes are kept washed and ironed beautifully. Meals are very good and tasty. My sister gets all the help she needs! Thanks very much to all at the home.

Job Title: Home Manager

I’ve worked at Care UK since November 2005.


I absolutely love this organisation and what it stands for. Being promoted to the role of Home Manager at Mills Meadow has been the highlight of my career. Before this, I was the Deputy Manager of Care UK’s Britten Court.


As Home Manager, I believe it’s important to create good relationships with all team members and residents in the home, as well as relatives. You need to be approachable, understanding and sympathetic, but also firm when needed. As well as achieving all the relevant qualifications for this role, I’m trained as a Red Umbrella mental health first aider.


The most important part of my role is ensuring that the highest quality care is provided for residents at all times.


I love seeing residents happy in their homes – it's a sign that the team is doing a good job. I’m proud to be able to make a difference to so many people’s lives in my role.
