Montana Care Home is a residential and nursing home with strong values, allowing residents to choose their own way of life and personalised support.

They provide person centred care based on respect for human dignity and the personal development of each individual to promote a secure and loving family atmosphere and care for people, regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, religious persuasion or belief, cultural or linguistic background, marital status, sexual orientation, or disability. They offer long-term care but can accommodate short-term care (including respite) when there is availability.

The Home is set in a traditional single-storey house, now extended to provide spacious accommodation in the very heart of rural Suffolk near the culturally historical town of Bury St Edmunds. They have accommodation for 19 people (16 rooms - 3 of them can be used as double rooms with en-suite facilities) and provide residential care of the very highest quality to older people (male and female) who are in need of care through frailty, disability or choice.

Friends and family visit at their convenience and are able to spend as much time with their relatives as they wish.

    The Home charges the current rate of fees paid by the relevant placing social/ health services. For more details about fees and the methods for paying them, please see our separate Terms and Conditions of Residency (and Financial Agreement for Self-Funders).
    Residents contributions to fees (or the full amount for some who self-fund) are usually collected by four weekly standing order. The fees are reviewed each year and usually change (subject to government guidance) each April.

    Most people are eligible for financial assistance with their fees. This can be explained in detail by the relevant Social/ Health Services Department, but typically consists of a payment from Social Services
    according to their assessments of their needs, with the remainder paid by you from your benefits or from your family
    Other people have more than the “minimum level of savings” (set each year by the government) which leads to them having to pay the full care home fee (they become “self-funding”). For these people the NHS help by making a small contribution to fees.
    Should your circumstances change, and you can no longer meet the full level of fees, Social Services will be contacted to assess your needs which usually culminates in them paying a finite amount, the outstanding balance being met by your family.

Montana Care Home is where caring really means caring. It caters for patients wellbeing and spiritual needs, nothing is too much trouble for the Nuns.
Patients are treated with dignity and as a family unit.
Rooms are comfortable, the home is well kept, hygiene and cleanliness are a priority.
Meals
are excellent and cooked on the premises. Patients feel safe and secure.
I would definitely recommend Montana Care Home if you want the best for your loved ones.

I first visited Montana late one evening. I had flown back to the UK to attend my uncle's funeral, and the Sisters had kindly invited my aunt to stay with them until she was ready to go home. Despite the late hour, I found the Sisters to be very friendly and welcoming, and quickly saw that my aunty
was being well looked after in her bereavement.
I visited the care home regularly over the following two days, and was always impressed with how much love they showed to all of us. It had been my uncle's wish to pass his final days there, but the thing that touched me most was that they continued to look after my aunty as well, making sure she was comfortable and well fed the whole time. They all wanted to be sure that she didn't feel that she was alone in her grief, and for me, living overseas, it was a great comfort to know that they had treated my aunty with the same love they had shown my uncle.

My relative was extremely well cared for in his final days. The staff were so thoughtful and friendly and I will be forever indebted to them. The efforts they all put in to make us welcome were unbelievable. Even after the weeks of constant care and attention, they helped to provide a wonderful funeral
that all our family appreciated so much.
I feel that they managed to provide not just practical care and attention but helped us all spiritually in his final days.

For the religious sisters running this care home it is a vocation and not a job, and it shows in so many ways, especially in the loving care that they give us. It doesn't matter how busy they are, they always have a kind word and a smile and are always ready to listen. No one wants to end up in a care
home, giving up your independence is always difficult, but there is no other place I would rather be than here. The love and care we are given is exemplary, we are one very happy family and so blessed to be here.
