I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the manager and all the team for taking such good care of mum. I know it only turned out to be a much shorter stay than most of us expected, but everyone was so good to her at that time. While she remained very independent in spirit, knowing that she was not
alone towards the end was a great comfort to her and our family.

Our mother asked to come to Oaklands House when she was unable to stay at home and needed 24-hour care. Sadly she was at the end of her life and the staff were absolutely amazing ensuring she died peacefully and with dignity.
They were all kind, and thoughtful and delivered excellent nursing care.
I was impressed (as an ex-nurse myself) with all the caring staff, staff behind the scenes, the manager and the excellent relationship they have with the medical team at the Health Centre. Thank-you.

I am 101 years old and my reason for going to Oaklands House was that I didn't recover completely after a chest infection. After my stay, I am fine and hope to have further little holidays for some tender loving care when needed.

During her last days I don’t have adequate words to thank the Manager and all the staff for the tender loving care they showed mum and the exceptional support they provided to our family. My mother-in-law appreciated the care and patience of the staff during her stay. Special dietary requirements were catered for, with good variety provided by a creative and caring kitchen. She settled into a secure and comfortable environment that really was a home from home.

Choosing Oaklands House for my mum was the best choice I could have made. From day one, Mum had the care and support of each of the staff and whenever I called nothing was ever too much trouble. Mum was happy to be part of everything going on and always felt special. Oaklands' staff, from the manager

Oaklands is in a really lovely setting, and my dad has enjoyed watching the squirrels and listening to the birds. Oaklands is always kept clean, warm and welcoming. The checking on him throughout the day and night; staff recording everything my dad eats, along with keeping an eye on his weight. The
food is always presented really nicely. All the staff are caring, kind, attentive, friendly and professional. The staff always treated my dad with dignity and respect; he liked the way they always knocked on his door, as opposed to just walking in. My dad always had his call bell in easy reach. All staff were thorough throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, checking PCR's, Covid passports for residents and visitors. The manager seems like an excellent leader, friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

My aunt has been very well looked after during the last four years of her residency. There is a very high standard of cleanliness, both in her room and general areas. Although the staff have changed during this time, they have always maintained a good relationship with her and particularly over the
last few very difficult months during the pandemic when visiting hasn't been possible. The arrangement of using FaceTime has given us the opportunity to stay connected and realise that good care is being maintained.

My cousin has been in Oaklands House since August 2018. The level of care has been stable over this whole period. However, the level of support has been exceptional over the last year. The communication from the home over the prolonged Covid pandemic period has been regular and informative. The level
of personal care has continued to meet my full expectations. In this period my cousin has recovered from a replacement hip operation and a continued level of dementia. Her health if anything has improved with improved mobility and ability to use the communal area. It is the continued support of the team in keeping the Residents occupied is a major advantage of living in Oaklands. The quality of care support has been exceptional. The home is always clean and well presented. The personal care of the Residents is maintained and the staff are particularly supportive of the individuals. This extends to treating everyone in the same caring environment with dignity.

Despite her terminal condition, my sister thought she was being well looked after and the staff were wonderful. Her appetite was extremely poor but an effort was made to tempt her with what she liked.

Following a nasty fall in his home, at the age of 88, my father joined Oaklands for a temporary one month trial to recuperate. Seven months later and he's waiting to sell his home and become a permanent resident. Regular, well-balanced meals, frequent drinks and the overseeing of his medication have
all helped him to get into better physical shape than he's been for years. The kindness and friendliness of the staff and their cheerful attitude, particularly during the very difficult Covid-19 times have kept him positive and happy. The VE Day outdoor party was especially appreciated by him. My family couldn't be more grateful to them for keeping him safe, well and happy.

I have been very pleased with the care that I have received being here for the last three weeks. I had a lovely Christmas here with presents that I did not expect. If I had been in my own home, I would have spent Christmas on my own. The food has been lovely and I have enjoyed most of it. The staff
have been wonderful and have helped me get back on my feet since I came out of hospital. Thank you all for looking after me.

My mum was at Oaklands for 2 weeks following a hospital stay. I cannot recommend them enough. The staff were caring and helpful at all times, the room where she stayed was lovely, overlooking trees and a birds nest and was so quiet and tranquil after the hospital.
