As all the residents here have dementia to a greater or lesser degree, this facility would not be suitable
Otherwise, they do a grand job.

These complaints were brought to my attention and l have thoroughly investigated them.
From the outcome, measures were put in place to address some of these concerns.
When discussed with the daughter she was happy with the measures put in place.
While we are currently recruiting an activities coordinator, existing staff do regular activities, walks in our grounds as well as music, art and craft activities and baking.
Visitors coming into the home often comment on how clean and fresh our home smells.
Professionals comment on our high standard of care and the skills our staff have with understanding our dementia residents. They also remark on how well we know our residents and how detailed our care plans are.

I have been working within the luxury hospitality market for over 30 years both in Europe, South Africa and America. Most recently I opened and ran a Wedding and Events Venue for 10 years locally in South Norfolk.
My passion is to deliver a high standard to my residents and put smiles on their faces through a genuine, caring, relaxed style. I believe in flexibility and choice delivered in a style where nothing is too much trouble. I treat my residents just how I would want to be treated myself with a strong focus on individuality. Families of the residents are equally important and it gives me great pleasure to host family here at the home and ensure they have special times with their loved ones as often as they are able. I look forward to many memorable years at Yaxley House.
I have adopted 4 young rescue greyhounds who keep me fit on country walks and I love big projects in my new garden which is a work in progress. I aim to get a gardening club established again at Yaxley this Spring!

I started in care over 20 years ago as a carer due to my Grandmother's diagnosis of dementia. From observing my nan's journey with her dementia and nearly losing her due to depression at home, she came back to life when in care...that was my lightbulb moment. I have since spent many years in management within care settings and feel it's the best decision I ever made. The amenities and outside courtyard at Yaxley House improve our residents' well-being giving them and their families the freedom they need. As a wife, mum and grandmother born and raised in Enfield, my passion is being out in the countryside with my four Labradors and my family.
