Stokeleigh is an attractive, late Victorian home that sits within its own secluded grounds, having been conscientiously extended to provide additional living space and a stylish conservatory. Elegant, yet warm and welcoming, the spacious accommodation at Stokeleigh has been thoughtfully redesigned, incorporating many original features to provide a safe, appealing and comfortable home for residents.

Stokeleigh benefits from strong management and committed team members, who ensure residents are not only safe and well cared for, but also happy and content. The trained, compassionate and caring team has created an exceptional residential care home that provides a full programme of activities, entertainment and outings to cater for everyone’s taste.

Stokeleigh comprises 28 en-suite bedrooms which are all newly decorated and fully furnished. All of them have a digital flat-screen TV, telephone point and 24-hour call bell system.

As well as benefitting from a hairdressing salon, access to video calling to stay in touch with friends and family along with an all inclusive laundry service, the home offers residents a very friendly and social setting with a cosy living area, spacious conservatory and a bright and airy dining room to enjoy fully inclusive homemade meals.

Stokeleigh is like a home. All carers are extremely attentive, kind and caring. Many activities and conversations keep residents physically active and their minds stimulated. I can visit my friend whenever I like and I am always welcomed. Care plans are regularly updated, any worries or concerns are
dealt with promptly and administration (finance etc) is efficient too. I like the newsletters too.

My mother is in the home and it is a dementia home. The activities coordinator is fantastic. There are activities every day which includes outside speakers/singers and she ensures the residents are all engaged. The new manager has been a breath of fresh air. The home has been decorated and money is
available to spend on activities for the residents. The manager has also made access to the home easier. The staff are friendly and attentive. My mother seems very happy in the home.

My mother was unwell during December and the care that she received from all the staff was exemplary. She was encouraged to get out of bed to help her chest and there was a constant flow of cups of tea to keep her fluid levels up. She has recovered and is now up and about and joining in the excellent
range of activities provided. My mother has been a resident for many years and can be quite challenging. She is always well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found such a caring environment for her.

I visit my old friend frequently, usually once a week. Her eldest son is a friend mine. I am most impressed with this care home where my friend is happy. When I visit there are several members of staff around. One in particular is always conducting quizzes, scrabble etc. There is frequent entertainment
from outside people. My church visits twice monthly once for singing and once for Holy Communion. This is a well run, clean and happy home.

Stokeleigh has lost a number of staff earlier in the year which led to a general degradation of both cleanliness and care particularly at weekend. Has improved recently but available staff to carry out showering and ensuring cleanliness of residents continues to be a challenge. Biggest issue is gaining
access visitors are kept waiting at the front door for unacceptable period.

Excellent caring environment. My mother in law had a difficult, unsettled period when first going there. The staff made changes and suggestions to enable her to settle. The staff are well trained with an excellent manager. All are always pleasant and well informed. They seem to go the 'extra mile'.
I would recommend Stokeleigh to anyone looking for a caring, well run residential environment. They are particularly knowledgeable and experienced in dementia care. They treat residents as individuals and utmost kindness. Also the home is a fantastic building in a great location.

A very warm welcome to Stokeleigh Care Home.


My name is Sujatha and I am extremely proud to be the Registered Manager here and to be part of the Hartford Care Family since 18th November 2024.


With over 22 years of experience in elderly care, I strongly believe that all of our residents have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. Together with my fantastic, cohesive team of staff, we ensure everyone receives the best level of care. Our home is set in beautiful surroundings, only a few minutes from Clifton Downs and the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge.


All visitors to our home are greeted with a warm, friendly and welcoming face and are immediately made to feel at ease. We look forward to meeting you.
