My father has only been resident in this home for the period 2/5/16 - 5/10/16. He passed away on this date. The care and attention given to my father was excellent. He enjoyed the care and attention provided by the staff. Nothing was too much. The food was superb as he was alway praising how good it
was. He participated in activities where possible which kept his mind active. The staff were friendly and supportive at all times. The end of life care was exceptional. I've already booked my place for later life!!

I am very pleased with the care home. The staff are excellent, always willing to help and you can always talk to them about anything, they then do the best they can to help you. My dad does feel safe and secure there with 24hr assistance which he needs.

We have been extremely pleased with the care and support given to our relative. Despite our grandmother presenting multiple challenges with hostility and memory issues - the staff are extremely patient, gentle, respectful and professional. Our grandmother has settled in well due to the kindness and
support offered to her at Cleeve Lodge. There are interesting and appropriate activities on, almost every day as well as trips out. We are always kept informed of significant information and the home is kept very nicely - clean with interesting displays.

My friend moved to Cleeve Lodge nearly two years ago following a stay in hospital. The staff are kind and helpful even when he is grumpy and uncooperative. His medical problems have increased but the home has provided the specialist equipment he needs and arranges medical appointments when necessary.

Care and support from all the staff is excellent, nothing is too much trouble for them.
Activities are provided on a daily basis.
Food is balanced and varied and there are always options to choose from.
I cannot praise Cleeve Lodge highly enough and recommend it to anyone thinking of going into
care either for respite of as a permanent resident.

Risa Jobbins

Job Title: Registered Manager

I am Cerisa, known as Risa, Registered Manager at Cleeve Lodge Residential Home in Downend. We care for adults over the age of 65 who require support with their daily living or who simply require companionship.


I first started working in care in 1998 and moved to Cleeve Lodge in 2008. I have NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Health & Social Care and recently achieved my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management.


Outside of work, I live with my husband and three teenage children. My household is very busy and noisy with my children and two dogs but I wouldn't change it for anything. My children forever make me smile.


The most important lesson that I have learnt has been that working in a team achieves much more than working in isolation. The best piece of advice that I was once given was to believe in myself as I can achieve great things.

I am Helen Haughton, I support the Homes in the Kew Care Group as Operations Manager. I started working in health & social care in 2001 when I graduated from Cardiff University and joined Kew Care Group in 2008. I was the Registered Manager of Cleeve Lodge Residential Home for 10 years achieving an Outstanding CQC rating in 2018. In addition to this, I had been working alongside the other Managers within the Group for several years but took on the operations role full-time in 2018 and now split my time between the four Homes.


The best piece of advice that I was once given was to teach and mentor others and they will be the best reflection of you.
