It’s the team at St Breock, who are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents, which make this home special. The home is thriving, with so many activities and experiences which bring such joy.

Run by a manager who has been there for over 16 years and a deputy of over 10 years, the team provide residential and dementia care, and respite care breaks. These can be booked in advance, so are ideal for family carers who would like to plan a short break, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

The team are passionate about keeping those community connections alive. There are regular entertainers, musicians, and music from the Forget-me-Not Chorus. And to honour a special tradition in Padstow, every year they organise an incredible ‘Obby Oss Strike Up’ festival in the home, with folk singers, musicians and dancers in traditional regalia.

The home even enlisted the help of local school children with its garden revamp, who listened to what the residents wanted, and created some very special designs for judging.

St Breock is in a picturesque hilltop location, with beautiful views across Wadebridge. There are so many places for the residents to enjoy, from trips along the riverside Camel Trail, to ice cream parlours and cafés, and spending time volunteering with the town’s community garden project.

This summer the team took a group of residents for a day out at the Royal Cornwall Show, where they enjoyed everything from tasting cider to paintball gun targets!

St Breock is an immaculate home. In the dining room, residents enjoy delicious, home cooked meals, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays, and home baking for afternoon tea.

There is a welcoming conservatory overlooking the garden, where residents can enjoy activities, spending time with loved ones, or enjoy singalongs with the piano and a hairdressing room, for regular appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

Staff are always warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them. Always plenty of activities available to stimulate Mum's mind. Family are always made to feel welcome when visiting - very happy with the care that is given to Mum.

Very nice to be greeted as we were on arrival at the home when she was taken in.

My mother had been in 2 other homes previous to St Breock, I can honestly say how much my mum has settled down. The carers are so helpful and as I visit my mum, I listen and watch them empathising with the other residents. The home is clean and friendly with a welcoming smile at the reception. The manager
and assistant manager are very quick in helping anyone that has a problem.

All staff are very helpful and caring. Food is good. Staffing changes have met with more agency staff at weekends who are not as familiar with residents which is unfortunate.

My wife has been in two different homes prior to St Breock. I have to say this home is superior in layout and I am more than happy with the care and support my wife has received since being here. The staff are kind, friendly and courteous even though they are always so busy.

The staff are always welcoming and immediately tell me how my mother has been. They always have her best interests at the fore i.e my mother has been turning everything in a circular motion i.e plates, glasses, cups etc. They have given her a non-slip mat and she is now able to feed herself although
they assist when necessary and no negligible weight loss has occurred in someone who is in end stage dementia, well done.

The care and dignity shown to my mother from the manager and his brilliant staff make me feel at ease. Every detail of my mother's needs are looked at and a plan put in place to deal with her needs, as well as can be expected. All staff are very approachable and can't do enough to look after my mother.

Dad settled easily into life at St Breock. The staff are very attentive, very thorough records are kept of everything that goes on from day to day. We have always been swiftly informed of any particular issues or problems as it's occurred. He eats well, and seems to be calmer and less agitated than
he was before he moved into St Breock.

My mother was at St Breock from January to March, when she passed away. The care at the home was amazing from management and all the staff. The warmth we felt when visiting, and the way my mum's last few weeks will be remembered always. She was happy interested in everything that was going on, we only
wished we could have had more time with her there. Her family can't thank you enough for giving us quality time with our mother.

It was wonderful to have Mum so loved and cared for every minute of the day and night during her last
fifteen months of her 98 years of life at St Breock. Mum had lived in the countryside all her life - full of us her seven Children and Dad of course but for me it was brilliant to witness Mum making
new friends and with one lady in particular. The Staff made my Mums daily life special. She chose to sit in Reception where she could see all the comings and goings - some days there was quite a party atmosphere. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the management - who would have thought Mum would actually go to the Royal Cornwall Show - well she did - was taken in the bus and loved it. My mum was not alone, had good stimulating company, wholesome food, warmth and genuine loving care - I shall be eternally grateful - thank you.
