All rooms also have a call bell system in case of emergencies, or in case residents need assistance in the night time.

Residents are encouraged to adorn their bedrooms with personal belongings so that it feels like a home from home, and fresh and nutritious food is provided by apetito.

My mum has been a resident at Trecarrel for almost 4 years. She has Alzheimer's Dementia, and although she is surprisingly mobile for her 94 years of age, she is unable to communicate in any meaningful manner. When I visit, she chatters away in her own 'double Dutch'. I am delighted with the way that
the staff treat and care for her. She seems very content and still has that little sparkle in her eye! The care home is kept clean and has been extensively refurbished over the last year or so. I am happy with the level of security. Residents also have the freedom to access the gardens, as and when the fancy takes them. The staff are, without exemption, always cheerful, helpful and willing to answer or find someone who can, any questions or concerns that I might have about my mum. I am kept informed, in a timely manner, if there are any problems regarding my mum's health. Thank you Trecarrel for the wonderful job you do!

My family and I cannot speak highly enough of Trecarrel Care Home. The staff are wonderful and create a lovely family atmosphere for residents and their families. Their care of our mother was second to none and we thank them all enormously.

After initial worries when my mother first went to this home, as it seemed would be a temporary base for mum, as travelling the extra miles was a worry. But after watching the managers and staff approach my mother in such a caring and embracing environment, that continued as the weeks went by, and watching
them continue to meet my mothers needs just lifted my spirits to know that Trecarrel really was the best place for her and I could relax knowing all the staff were amazing in their work and I could see that mum was happy and will continue to be. Thank you Trecarrel for being everything for my dear mum.

Dad was in care at this home for almost 8 years which I think speaks for itself in terms of the care he received.
I never announced my visits in advance but I always found dad to be well dressed and clean. Obviously, as his illness progressed, he needed more care but he was still taken out last summer
to local places. I was always informed on the day of any issues.

My dad spent the last year of his wonderful life, residing at Trecarrel. He had been suffering from Alzheimer's for the last 7 years and as he needed 24-hour care, we decided to reluctantly place him in care. So, we were offered a place at Trecarrel and it turned out to be an excellent decision.
All
through his year there, he seemed very happy and well cared for. He was always in clean clothes, with the carers regularly needing to change him. His room was always clean and tidy, as was the whole complex. All the staff that we met, were always smiling and very approachable - nothing was too much trouble. The catering was of a very good standard, made by the chefs - breakfast, mid-morning coffee/cakes, lunch, mid-afternoon tea/cakes, dinner and there was always help to eat. Dad also participated in several of the supervised local trips, that Trecarrel organised. There were varied daily activities that dad could also join in. Thank you for making his last year bearable. Well done.

Trecarrel is a very clean and tidy home. All the staff are knowledgeable of the residents. The residents are all treated with respect and kindness as well as professional care. The staff all went above their duties to look after my father in his last days. I cannot thank them enough.

Although my father was initially unsettled and unhappy about going into a care home he soon adjusted to life in Trecarrel Care Home as the staff were so patient, friendly, helpful and caring. His room is kept clean and tidy his clothes are washed regularly. His own needs in this department are also
met on a regular basis. It is good that he can walk in the garden whenever he wishes safely. He seems to be eating well and enjoying the varied meals. On the whole, I am very pleased with the care he is receiving.

Lovely home with genuine, caring staff. My mother has now been a resident for 15 months and in all that time, I have never had any concerns at all regarding her well being. I honestly believe that the staff care about all the residents and treat them with both fondness and dignity and for that, I say

I visit dad as often as I can most weeks. He loves it in the home. There are activities, however, he prefers to spend time in his room.

My grandfather was a resident here and the staff have been so caring, helpful and just brilliant. He fell ill and was sent back to the care home to die 'at home'. His daughter (my mum) was with for 4 days. The staff made sure she had tea, coffee, food, a bed, shower and even lent her some trousers.
I was lucky enough to arrive the evening he died and spend his last few hours with him. They also made sure I was fed, watered and let me know have a sleep there too. The night staff were amazing and sat with us, talked us through what they thought was happening in his final hours. I would thoroughly recommend this care home, amazing care.

Peter has been a resident at Trecarrel Care Home for nearly six months, I have visited the home every four or so weeks, and found the staff very helpful, Perhaps the front door
could be a little more visitor friendly, (can be a bit of a wait at times) I am quite happy and confident that Peter is in

My Mum was in Trecarrel for just shy of five years. It was the hardest decision my family and I had to make placing her in a home, the guilt and 'what ifs' were excruciating!


Knowing then what we know now the decision would have been easier. The staff became like an extended family, kind, welcoming

and informative to Mums care and needs. The first few years Mum improved and became very mobile again, my Dad would take her out regularly and the staff would encourage her to keep active. The latter years her needs were more complex but still, she was always relaxed, comfortable and content in her surroundings. The home always smelt fresh and clean with windows open and rooms aired. The elevated position of the building gives it a bright and positive feel and the views across to the coast and countryside beyond can ease the saddest of days, whatever the weather.

The care my wife received at this nursing home was without doubt the finest and most caring anyone could wish for. Nothing was too much trouble. The attention and dignity they afforded my wife along with the care and comfort they gave to my wife and myself throughout her illness was outstanding.
