My father has been extremely well cared for and happy at Courtlands. The staff are very professional and helpful, really happy to help in any way they can. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a safe, happy environment for their loved one.

My mother has been a resident for almost five years.
She has been treated with kindness and dignity throughout.
We visit at different times of the day and the staff are always cheerful and willing to help.
The home standards are extremely high in cleanliness, hygiene and food.

Staff always polite, very helpful and caring.
Our mother is always clean and dry and her room smells nice and is kept fresh.
Meals are tasty and look good.

It’s always a sad time when a loved one cannot manage in their own home any longer and the worry for the family in finding a ‘new home’ for their family member is a time of upset and stress. My brother and I are so pleased that we were recommended Courtlands where my mum has been a resident for eighteen
months. It is a great home, professional and caring and we would recommend it without hesitation.

Having decided with a very heavy heart that I could no longer look after my Mother at home, the decision was made to look for a care home. We as a family feel so lucky that Courtlands had a vacancy. I cannot praise enough the care that my Mother is receiving. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
Mum is really enjoying her life at the home. She partakes in many activities and has a good relationship with the staff and clients. The home is clean and from what I have seen of the food, it looks delicious. I would thoroughly recommend Courtlands to anyone who is looking for a home for their loved one.

Roza

Roza Szygenda

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2018

Roza has been our Registered Manager since July 2018. She holds her NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, she also holds a BA (Hon) in Business from Plymouth University. In addition to many courses in care specialist subjects such as learning disability, dementia, safeguarding she is also qualified Trainer and Level 3 qualified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. She has nearly 10 years experience in Care, before that she managed staff in a retail business managing the HR, payroll management accounts, and the administrative side of that business.


Before joining Courtlands Roza was the Acting Manager at a nearby home in West Cornwall that specialised in both the elderly and adults with learning difficulties.


Jan

Jan Gould

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2009

Jan has been caring for 35 years in nursing or residential homes in Norfolk, Somerset and for the last 16 years in West Cornwall. Jan has been the Deputy Manager here at Courtlands for the last 12 years.


Her qualifications include Palliative Care Level 3 and
NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Health & Social Care. As well as many shorter courses in care specialist subjects such as moving and handling, dementia, safeguarding.


Jan has developed a very long standing relationship with all of the NHS community nurses, our local GP practice and of course our residents who have been with us for several years.


Jan is a qualified trainer. She leads on all of our induction training, refresher training as well as conducting our in-house training for staff.
