What a wonderful home! The staff are amazing, kind and caring with endless patience. Nothing is too much trouble. My dad came for some respite care and during this time it was his birthday, they threw him a party with a beautiful handmade cake. All the food was nutritious and tasty and he thoroughly
enjoyed his time spent here. Dad was kept clean, well-fed and, most importantly, happy. I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful home.

My father was not the usual type of client that the Kilmar team was used to. His condition made it very clear that very little the way of re-enablement was possible, but the Kilmar team got to know him and what he wanted. A programme of per person-centred care was delivered with respect, dignity and
understanding, a routine was established to lessen his anxiety. He was tempted with good nutrition and was prepared to eat a little more. His personal care needs were attended to with dignity and respect with him being encouraged to engage in the process himself, it was also understood, with great sensitivity that, due to his mental health, he didn't always want to speak to people. The team were aware of this and allowed him his own peace and quiet when needed. My wife and I were always treated with the utmost respect and understanding every time we visited and were kept fully updated. We highly commend the team on their excellent communication skills.

In my opinion and having 2 conversations with other residents, Kilmar House is excellent. The staff are excellent and are always there to lend to hand to help and are always available when you need them. Personally in my transition from home to Kilmar House. Staff have been amazing.
