My Brother-in-Law moved into the Care Home just before Christmas last year. We really thought we were going to lose him as we felt he was going downhill fast. But moving him into the care home was just what he needed. They do so many activities and go out on trips when they can (because of covid). He
is like a new person, with a new lease of life. Looking at the photos, everybody is always smiling and looking so happy. He looks so happy and smiling all the time. They are so well-loved and taken care of. I would love to live there.

When my father arrived at the Court during Covid we had been unable to view prior to his arrival, but I now feel that we could not or would not have chosen a better place.
When my father first arrived he had lost his appetite due to an extended hospital stay but with the care and perseverance of the
staff his appetite and well-being have improved immensely.
Whenever we visit he is clean and well turned out. He had enjoyed many days out and nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff. During our visits, we look forward to seeing not only Dad, but also the staff who are all friendly and we have grown to know and become fond of. This is a home, not just a care home.
During these challenging times, they have done their best to keep us up to date with regular calls and emails.
We have found the management extremely knowledgeable and helpful, he has helped with paperwork and always pointed us in the right direction whilst we navigated the transition for Dad.

We cannot wish for a better care home with such caring staff to look after our dear Mum; thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
It makes it easier for all the family knowing Mum is safe and looked after, as it’s been such a difficult year for Mum, the other residents and all the families.
But
The Court has keep our Mum and everyone safe and well and continue to do so, until we can all come and visit again soon.

I can only remark on the care that my mother has in a short time that she has been resident at the home. She has been very well cared for, and the staff will always keep me updated on how she is doing. I am very pleased with the care home.

I have recently lost a very dear friend at this wonderful home where she had been for the last two years. In all of this time, she had been looked after with the utmost care and love. On her arrival from a previous home, she appeared very different almost to the point of looking as if she had come from
somewhere that had given up on her. This home gave her 2 glorious years where her state of health and dignity greatly improved.

Compared to Nan's old home at another home - Nan was always in dirty clothes and half undressed. When we took Nan to The Court and she was very well looked after and always looked smart and nothing is to much trouble. The manager is an awesome carer and all the staff are very helpful and caring. The
home is fantastic and the food is a good quality aswell. There is always something there for everyone.

Compared to the last home it's a palace. Very caring, all the staff. Very clean, treat patients with respect and dignity, the food is excellent. The dining room is well layed out. Mum's room was well decorated to what Mum liked. Mum enjoyed the garden.

The court is a loving and welcoming home. All the staff and management team has made my nan welcome and feel loved every day. The care they give is brillant and they are very helpful with everything. During the beginning of lockdown they kept in contact all the time with my mum. I can't thank them enough
for all the care, help and support they gave my nan and all her family. The Court has arranges different activities and events each day, which is lovely to see.

My mother has now been at the court for 2 years and I can not recommend them highly enough. It is such a comfort to know that mum is so well cared for and respected by everyone at The Court.
The past few months have been so difficult for everyone and The Court have excelled with the challenges COVID-19
presented and have amazingly remained COVID free which is such a testament to all the amazing and superb staff.

My Dad moved from hospital to The Court at the time of COVID lockdown. Due to the circumstances, I could only see him on the day he moved in, and then not for several weeks after. I was of course apprehensive but needn't have worried, Dad's care has been excellent, I have been kept updated and when
I eventually saw him he looked better than he has looked for a very long time. After several months of worry and stress about the best way forward for my Dad, the weight was lifted off my shoulders when he moved to The Court.

Our dear Mum has been in this care home since January. I never ever thought our Mum would be happy in a care home, but she loves every minute of her time in The Court.
Since Covid-19 happened, we were all really worried about her safety. But the manager and his team have been amazing, they have kept
every resident and staff member as safe as they possibly can.
The activities team are fantastic, the activities coordinator has gone above and beyond in her role. They recently had a French week and I know how much they loved it. Mum has never looked and felt so well, so all I can say is thank you to the manager and all the team for caring about our Mum as much as we do.

In these very strange times, we have entrusted our Nan to the manager and his team, to keep her safe and well. It's an amazing team which provides various activities to keep the residents entertained. We have spoken to Nan and although unsure of the PPE, she is happy and well cared for. The team is
like an extended family for her, which she loves.

I particularly enjoyed my respite break at The Court as it meant I was being looked after very well. The staff looked after me with such good grace. It was a wonderful experience and I certainly enjoyed the activities an having a point of interest to concentrate on. I enjoyed my respite stay so much
that I am now returning in various days to enjoy lunch and activities.

The Court looked after my great grandmother for respite whilst we moved her. She was happy, safe and well-cared for.. I'm pretty sure if given the chance she'd jump at the chance!


Nothing was too much trouble, we were kept in the loop of her daily life and encouraged to be a part of the home and

all the many activities they had put into place.

I attended an open day this weekend and was pleasantly surprised by this rest home, it is a stunning old building which to be honest probably does not make the life of the staff very easy as there are quite a few internal steps which require staff to assist the less mobile of their clients. Having said
that, the staff were exceptionally caring, attentive and patient, it was an exceptionally busy day and the catering staff did an excellent job of providing a buffet meal that was most enjoyable, especially the Christmas cake!
I enjoyed your excellent function which really helped to bring all the guests and residents together.
Many thanks for the kindness and consideration of your staff in giving my father some respite care and enabling my mother to recover from her operation.

I cannot speak highly enough of The Court Retirement Home. Firstly, it is set in the most amazing surroundings. Its beautifully peaceful location is perfect for those who need a quieter, slower pace of life. When I first took my dad there for respite, I was mesmerised by the pretty gardens and the history
of the home.
The staff at The Court are just phenomenal, they are all so friendly and clearly enjoy the job they do. The residents are treated with the utmost respect and they have lots of activities to keep them occupied.
When I had to make the decision to put my dad into a respite situation, it was not an easy decision to make, suffice to say, I was rather emotional. The staff were all such empathetic, generous people who were there to support not only my dad, but also his family during a difficult time. Whenever we went to visit Dad, the staff always made us feel welcome.
The Court really has a magic about it, my dad's happiness there was testament to this.

My husband stayed at The Court for respite care last month. The staff are wonderful and it really is like being at home. He would like to visit regularly for respite care so, it's good for me to know that he enjoys it and I have peace of mind to leave my loved one there. I can't thank the team enough

My father started on a respite basis at The Court. On discharge from the hospital, he chose to try respite for a short while instead of going back to his house where he was struggling to live independently. It took a short while to adjust as his dementia made the transition from house to care home confusing,
but the staff at The Court made him feel comfortable, reassured and at ease with his new living environment.
Within the first few months, my father was looking a lot calmer and more like himself, as he realised his needs were being met and that living at The Court took the anxiety and stress out of having to manage entirely by himself. My father has now been living on a permanent basis for 1 year now and often remarks on how he likes being at The Court and how nice the staff are.

In June 2023, I joined the Court team as the Registered Manager, bringing over 17 years of experience in social care across various areas such as Learning disabilities, Autism, Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, and physical disabilities.


Holding a level 5 diploma in leadership and management, I previously managed a care facility with a GOOD CQC rating.


As the Registered Manager, my role involves overseeing the care home's operations and ensuring staff compliance with health and safety policies, training requirements, and CQC regulations.


I work closely with external professionals to tailor our services to meet the diverse needs of our residents.
Being part of the Court team is immensely rewarding as we all share a commitment to delivering exceptional person-centred care in a warm and homely environment.

In 2022, I joined the family business after my parents assumed ownership of The Court in 2002. In my role, I supervise the facilities team, which covers activities, events, housekeeping, the kitchen, and maintenance. Additionally, I handle all financial aspects, including staff salaries, budgeting for the home, and invoicing residents. I collaborate closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager.

I became part of the court team in early 2023, starting as a senior care assistant. Recently, I transitioned into the role of Team Leader, where I not only fulfil my senior care duties but also supervise the senior care staff, ensuring adherence to regulations and maintaining high-quality work practices.

I absolutely love what I do! I have the incredibly fulfilling role of arranging person-centred activities, tailored to meet the needs and preferences of all our wonderful residents; providing social interaction, physical and mental exercise, engagement, wellbeing and a sense of purpose and joy to their daily lives.


My role involves organising diverse and meaningful activities to ensure residents lead active and happy lives. The position requires being organised, creative, proactive, flexible, and possessing good communication skills.


Building relationships with residents and understanding their preferences is a rewarding aspect of the job.
