The staff at Croft Lodge Care Home are always caring and considerate. Dad is very comfortable here and although we live some distance away we would not move him from Croft Lodge. The staff are his family.
The property has recently been refurbished to a high standard and has been improved considerably
by the new owners.

All staff are kind, caring and understanding. We see that the staff always notice if Mum appears unwell and ensure that she receives the appropriate care.
Staff interact well and make great efforts to ensure they know Mum and understand her needs and interact with her.

I stayed at this care home over the last couple of years as respite care. I found the staff helpful and friendly. No help too much. There is constant investment and refurbishment. The management is refreshingly accessible.

My wife has been at Croft Lodge for a year. She has MS and is totally immobile.
The Covid virus has made life difficult for everyone but the management and staff have been very supportive and helpful.

My mother sadly passed away on April 7th 2020. I would like to say thank you to the care home manager and her staff for the treatment she received during her short illness that eventually brought about her life's end. I was kept regularly in touch with the changes in her condition and was very relieved
to hear that the end came peacefully, two members of staff took turns to sit with her during her last hours, for her not to be alone was very important to me. My mum was a resident at Croft Lodge for the last two years of her life and was always happy there when asked on occasions whether everything was ok, she would always praise the staff mentioning among other things their kindness and cheerfulness. With this in mind, I would like to say a big thank you for the treatment at the end of her life which went far beyond the call of duty.

My mother was in Croft Lodge for a year up until she passed away. The care she was given was always efficient and very understanding of her needs.
The staff always made sure she was comfortable and were very responsive to any requests we made. Activities were provided which my mother enjoyed. Excellent
sympathetic care was given to us all at the time of her passing.

The staff were fantastic in almost every way - they were polite and helpful at all times.
My one reservation is that in the week in which my Mum was at the home, she was not bathed or showered at all. Additionally, she was left to wash herself in the morning which she is not able to do. A great pity.

Croft Lodge is an excellent care home in all aspects. My dear dad is treated with the utmost respect and his care needs are fully met. The manager and staff are just wonderful, it is always a pleasure to visit my dad as everyone makes me feel so welcomed. The most important factor to me is that my dad
is cared for 24/7 which obviously allays any worries/fears and concerns that I have. My heartfelt thanks to everyone at Croft Lodge.

Although my involvement with Croft Lodge was limited due to my father-in-law's ill-health, my experience was second to none. My father-in-law was discharged from his local hospital in Surrey to Devon as he needed to be closer to family - that is a stressful thing to organise but the team at Croft Lodge
were incredibly professional and empathetic in how they spoke to my husband and I. Throughout his stay my father-in-law went downhill quickly, which meant we had a number of calls and updates; again all of which were caring and compassionate. We even had dealings with the Operations Manager due to finance issues with the council - but she put us at ease that the mistake wasn't ours and handled all the communication herself only updating us to say things were sorted. We had heard negative stories about the home under the previous management - but I can assure you that the new team are truly fantastic - I cannot recommend the home enough - I would like to tick something higher than excellent!

Mehul and Tushar Shah

Job Title: Directors

Prior to starting Centrum Care Homes, Mehul and Tushar successfully, and continue, to lead by example in excellence in domiciliary care. Rated outstanding with the CQC and continue to provide outstanding care in the Reading area.


Mehul worked in the City within Investment Banking and Finance, working for leading Global Investment banks. Within a short period of time, Mehul was given the opportunity and responsibility of managing the bank's extensive European Property portfolio as well as advising multinationals on their mergers and acquisitions strategy.


Mehul has a passion for operational excellence, working with the team to ensure that the system and processes are in place to deliver and evidence quality care. Mehul works alongside the team to ensure that the team is meeting CQC standards, and operational sustainability and has a key eye for detail.


Prior to launching Bluebird Care, Tushar worked at Mars Inc, working in a variety of management roles in IT, Commercial, Sales and Marketing. He was responsible for the management of Mars' European Advertising and Media Agency relationships.


Tushar has a passion for bringing creative ideas to fruition to better the quality of life of our residents and team alike. Tushar works alongside the team to support business development. Working in partnership with the councils, CCGs and local charities, Tushar works in identifying challenges and putting in place sustainable and innovative long-term solutions.


Tushar is also passionate about developing a culture of quality and excellence within the workforce.

Emma Corderoy

Job Title: Senior Operations Manager

Joined: 2023

Emma brings with her a wealth of experience in managing and supporting a number of homes, with particular passion and excellence in the standard of care delivery.


Emma started her career as a Care Assistant and worked her way up to become a Registered Manager and then Operations Manager more recently with her previous company. She has an in-depth understanding of the care industry and is well-equipped to guide and support the management team.


Emma oversees all locations under Centrum Care Homes and is committed to working alongside the team to provide outstanding care and meet CQC's fundamental requirements.
