My wife has now spent a year in Doveridge.
My observations are really very similar to my last review.
The atmosphere is akin to a large family.
There is laughter and chatter and leg pulling, but the needs of the residents are paramount.
Inevitably there are staff changes but newcomers very quickly
fit into the Doveridge ethos.
To date, I have spent a lot of time visiting and sharing meals with my wife.
I am always made welcome.
I congratulate all the staff.

I would like to thank all the dedicated staff at Doveridge for the love and care they have shown my mum while she was a resident there. They got to know Mum like a member of the family and always treated her with dignity, respect and a positive attitude. I felt they all genuinely cared and wanted the
best for her. I would recommend Doveridge without hesitation.

My mum came into Doveridge mid-May 2017 following a diagnosis of vascular dementia/alzheimer's. She died at the beginning of December from pneumonia aged 97. Although she lost the power of speech, she was always able to indicate her feelings and that was that she was happy and wanted to stay. That surprised
me as mum was always fiercely independent and rejected any suggestion in the past of moving to a care home.


Doveridge is special because the staff really care and are kind and respectful in a natural way. That stems from management and although there has been a change of manager, I am confident that unique level of care will be maintained. I visited every week not always on the same day or time, I was always offered lunch. The building isn't perfect, the location is beautiful, but it is the staff who matter most and they have been brilliant.

I really enjoy my visits to Doveridge. The staff are all so lovely and make a big effort to do all they can for everyone.
I like meeting new friends and sit talking with them or going out on trips together. We sit in the garden when it is nice and I really enjoy this.
I feel like I have an extended
family here now it's really lovely.

My father has now visited Doveridge for a respite stay and for day care. He has been extremely happy here, finding the staff very friendly and happy to attend to all of his needs.
He says the food is excellent and you can always ask for more. He has also found that the trips out with the activities
organiser are very enjoyable and there is always a drink and a snack to look forward to.
His room was of an excellent standard, with a large en-suite shower room, where he could manage a daily shower with little help, this made him feel very happy as it gave him a confidence boost.
He is looking forward to visiting again in the future.

The home provided good care for mum and looked after her very well. She was able to eat well and regularly and enjoyed several trips out and regular activities in the home. Communication was easy as we could speak anytime on the phone and could also visit regularly.

Mum has been in Doveridge since January this year following two short periods in other homes. Staff at Doveridge have made my Mum feel very welcome and she has settled in quickly. This kindness has been extended to my Dad who visits daily and staff are very supportive towards him, he often eats with
Mum, adding a bit of normality to their lives. Recently it was Mum's 80th birthday and the home let us take over one of the lounges for a family party enabling us to make a very special memory.
Mum's dementia is very hard to come to terms with but I have found the staff supportive and there for us too. Any worries we may have we can discuss with the Manager who is very friendly and approachable. Mum's Keyworker is very kind and caring and has been exceptional in the way she looks after Mum, nothing is too much trouble.
I have found Doveridge to be a very homely home and the care is of a very high standard. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

My mother moved to Doveridge Care Home in June because she had dementia and found it difficult at home. She loved it and enjoyed going out on trips for tea and scones at garden centres and lots more. She loved the company and made new friends. The staff were very kind to her and all the residents made
us welcome too. Our mother died after a short illness and after the hospital she was bought back to Doveridge Care Home where she felt safe. The girls hospice nurses and everyone were wonderful. We were treated very kindly and were told to treat the place like home. We were able to stay in Mum's room with her until the end. The kindness and care were exceptional. A better place I will never know.

My mother has been at Doveridge since early June, she settled in well, she enjoyed the outings and activities. A friendly lady, she loved the friendly staff who were wonderful to her. She died after a short illness. We the family were treated so well. We were able to stay with her in her room until
the end. The endless care and kindness was amazing.
My mother wanted for nothing and we didn't either. They made us so welcome. We had meals that were freshly made as we are vegetarians. We were able to use the shower room and felt very cared for. A wonderful home, only sorry mum wasn't there longer.

I have been with Doveleigh Care for nearly 8 years, starting as an assistant manager (team leader) progressing to a deputy, acting manager and now at present registered manager, I started at Dove Court for 6 years where I became manager and moved to Doveridge to learn different skills working with residents with a diagnosis of dementia.
I have worked in the care industry for 21 years, I started my career doing homecare which I really enjoyed and this fitted around young children commitments at the time. I had a slight change of career in care when the children were old enough for me to do this, I worked in a children's care home as a support worker for children with challenging behaviour and autism, this was an enjoyable challenge and I learnt a lot of different skills.
I got into care as it was something I was always interested in and caring is very natural to my personality.
Outside of work family time is important, I have 2 very young grandchildren who I enjoy watching grow up, I enjoy travelling so every opportunity I am jetting off somewhere warm.
