Mum had deteriorated significantly this month from being relatively active and joining in with the others to just sitting in her room.
The staff were constantly supportive and in frequent communication with myself and my husband and if we required anything, it was not too much trouble for them.
During
her last week, she was semi-conscious, but there was someone sitting with her 24/7, giving her support when she needed it.
We have nothing but praise for the way she was looked after during her stay.

Hill House is a place where I'm always made to feel welcome. Nothing is ever too much trouble, like a second family, and most importantly mum seems happy. Please keep the chefs!

Good care, very friendly staff who listen to requests. Varied choice of food. Excellent activities, encouraging clients to experience. Storage for incontinence pads is not suitable in rooms. Wardrobes most difficult to open often need repair.

Both Aunt and Uncles spent their last years at Hill House. The care they received was second to none. The staff are all so friendly and caring. I was kept constantly informed of their well-being and any issues that they had, despite living quite far away. When I visited, I was always made very welcome.
I was so happy that we chose Hill Hose for their care.

Wonderful visit today. Staff so friendly and welcoming; everyone stopping to chat to us. Spotlessly clean rooms as ever and a sparkling bathroom. Residents seem very well cared for. I’m sure the staff are rushed off their feet, but they take the time to make residents feel special and welcome visitors.
Thank you all.

I couldn't think of a better place for my lovely mother to live. The staff here at Hill House are always so kind and caring. They never rush the residents and are always respectful and patient. They have managed to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere while ensuring all residents are kept safe. The
food is homecooked and delicious with choices at breakfast, lunch and supper. There is a wonderful events coordinator who makes sure that there are always activities for the residents to join in with but only if they want to. There is a weekly music therapy session and other entertainment such as visiting bell ringers, various musicians hosting singalongs and even visits from animals such as llamas! Every resident is treated as an individual whose likes and dislikes are taken note of. I am so pleased that I found such a wonderful place for my mum to live and so grateful to the amazing, warm and caring staff who look after her.

Hill House Care Home is a credit to the team who work there. From the day Dad moved in, he was welcomed with open arms, and he and I were made to feel part of the Hill House family. The staff work tirelessly to provide the best care and life for the residents. The food is exceptional, and the activities
are full and varied. Prior to moving to Hill House, Dad had rather given up on life, and as a result of their care, we got our old dad back; he was happy and got his smile back.

I am always warmly welcomed when I visit the home. I arrive on random days at random times and this does not change the welcome I receive. The staff are always respectful and check to ensure my friend is available and happy for a visit before I am taken to her room. The home has a friendly and warm
atmosphere. am reassured that my friend is well cared for,

My mother moved to Hill House following 10 weeks in hospital. She was in a 'poorly way' when she arrived. Staff have given gentle encouragement and over 3 months Mum has regained a quality of life we her children had not thought possible. I would like to add that the lovely garden, beautifully kept,
is a component in Mum's enjoyment of life and is much appreciated by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.630)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.630) out of 10 for Hill House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.830 for Hill House is calculated as follows: ( (80 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.83

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hill House is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
