My mother-in-law loved being at Willow House, the staff from management, care staff, kitchen and laundry were all amazing and so caring and friendly. The food was great and the home was always clean. You were always welcomed and offered a drink. She was so happy here.

Willow House is a warm, friendly, welcoming, bright and clean home. I have so much respect for the manager and the team that she has put together. They manage to do a very difficult job with good grace and good humour. I am very grateful for the care my mother receives.

Willow House has been very attentive to my brother. He needs a great deal of care and attention and they are always looking for ways to improve his circumstances. There are regular video meetings with the management and it is nice to be able to see and hear what other relations have to say.

Willow House is a homely place with a wonderful garden. There is always a friendly smiling face in the lounge amongst staff and residents. My mother is well cared for and enjoys the various activities and outings. We always feel welcome as visitors and appreciate being able to pop into the office for
a quick word.

My experience for Willow House has been very good. Security at the front door is excellent, no smell of urine or constant bell ringing. I have found the staff very happy and caring, nothing is too much trouble. Mum's room is on the ground floor, so easy access to the main lounge, only access to the
rooms via a key code. The lounges are clean and welcoming. The garden is very inviting, and a credit to the home. Families are invited to any social events and kept informed about any developments. The food is very good, and there are plenty of cups of tea. The manageress is always open to discuss matters and will take suggestions. Overall, I am happy that my mother is safe and well cared for.

We really appreciate you taking the time to feedback on the home and your experience with the members of the team. Pleased to hear that your mum is able to make use of the lounge and garden. Many thanks once again!

This is an excellent care home. They are caring, attentive and supportive. During my mother's time there her health has improved. There are many opportunities for socialising which is important to her. They are flexible in supporting individual needs. The atmosphere at the home is very friendly and
the gardens are beautiful which is also very important to my mother.

Mother continues to be well looked after by Willow House and is very content. The staff are very friendly and helpful which creates a very good atmosphere. Whilst mother is not very keen on social activities there is a good range of things going on which is good news for those that like activities.

Willow House, South Brent is a wonderful care home with lovely caring staff. Always made to feel welcome when visiting. The genuine kindness they show to all the residents is very comforting. The thing that strikes me most is how clean the care home is and my Mother's bedroom is immaculate so too all
the common areas. A beautiful garden to enjoy weather permitting. So lucky my mum is there.

Though there were a few initial concerns with this care home. I have to say it is one of the best I have seen. It is a lovely building set in the most beautiful grounds. It really is a home from home. The staff were marvellous with my difficult mother and went above and beyond the call of duty at
times. Unfortunately mum passed away here, but I am pleased she had the care I could not give her full-time. A big thank you to all the staff.

Willow House itself is a beautiful home, with wonderful green gardens and lovely views. Most remarkable for me though are the truly wonderful management and staff. My mum is very kindly yet efficiently cared for and is as happy as she could possibly be, given that she cannot be in her own home any longer.
The staff are extremely kind and thoughtful, both towards my mum and towards us all as a family. We are always made welcome when visiting and there is a strong family and community feeling in the home. The food is good and tailored to individual residents. I am always kept up to date with any medical and general changes about Mum. I couldn't recommend Willow House and the amazing team of staff more highly; there is such a strong ethos of seeking the best possible care for residents at all times. Communication with families has been excellent during the Covid crisis too.

We are so grateful for the highest standard of care provided to our Mother during her stay at Willow House. She suffered from mixed Dementia and unfortunately passed away in June. At every stage of her illness, she was cared for with attention to detail, heartful presence and appropriate responses.

How the home responded to us when lockdown happened and my Mum was in end of life care was so very helpful. The management is rigorous in choosing staff that genuinely care about the residents and bring love and humour to their work and as a result, the atmosphere in the home is welcoming and homely. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.637)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.637) out of 10 for Willow House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.837 for Willow House is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.837

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willow House is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
