I have lived here for 3 years now and think this is a nice place to live. The staff are very good and I feel that I can talk to them about anything. The food is very good and we have even more choices now, along with good portion sizes.

I stayed at Asher Care for a few weeks and found all the staff caring and patient. They were always willing to help and to have a chat. The management answered any questions I had. I felt safe at all times. I would highly recommend Asher Care.

I’ve been living at Asher Care for about 3 months and could not be happier. All the staff and management are extremely caring and attentive to all residents. The home is clean and warm, the food is very good and plentiful. If I would like refreshments between meal times I only have to ask. I have never
heard a bad word said by any of my fellow residents against the staff or Asher care home in general. In fact I have only heard how happy people are. I would recommend Asher care home to everyone.

Everything about this care home is good. The staff are good, the food is nice and there's lots of choices, especially recently!
I have a flat to myself which is alright, better than being on the streets!
I would recommend this home.

My mum was until recently a resident at Asher Care. At first, we felt confident with Mum staying here but slowly throughout her stay it was evident that staff were disconnected, didn’t communicate with families and showed little empathy. I understand the difficulty of these homes during Covid times,
however, these are the times when people aren’t able to see their loved ones as frequently as they would like, communication is key to reassurance.
Overall disappointed in this home and would not recommend it. I can’t comment on mum's care, as I never was never able to enter the home or witness any care given. However they wanted mum out after nine months in a huge hurry as could no longer meet her needs, the pressure put on us as a family was immense. The whole thing was treated extremely unprofessionally. I would never want anyone else to experience such a lack of compassion!
Glad to say mum already a lot happier in her new home and we feel confident she is being looked after well.

Reply from Nicky Manley, Registered Manager at Asher Care

We’re very sorry that you feel there was some issues. We take comments seriously. We make every effort to maintain contact with next of kin, in your case we also communicated with yourself, brother and sister. Due to Covid restrictions, we are sorry that we had to limit the number of visits per resident. We built cabins, held window visits as often as possible. When it became apparent that we were unable to meet your mums’ specific needs, we offered suggestions of homes. We are sorry that you feel the move was rushed, we tried to support you all to make the process as stress free as possible, and liaised with the social worker on your behalf. For the move, you and your siblings were unavailable, no transport had been arranged by the social worker. To ensure your mum’s transition to the new home went smoothly, the managers personally took her there. We appreciate that this has been a trying time for all. We are pleased that mum has settled well at her new home and we wish her well.
