Rest Haven Charitable Home is situated in a residential area in Exmouth. Boasting great views and in close proximity to local amenities, the home offers home-from-home residential care.

Inside the home, there are 34 bedrooms, many offering en suite facilities. Residents are encouraged to bring along their own furnishings to help them settle in and make their rooms their own. There are spacious living areas located across the home as well as a garden space for residents to enjoy too.

The team of care professionals work hard to provide high quality care to all residents, not only meeting their health needs but also striving to improve their wellbeing, encouraging them to socialise and take part in the activities regularly arranged.

There is a large car park at the front of the home and visitors are always welcome.

On my visit to see a married couple both in their nineties it turned out to be a wonderful experience thanks to what I witnessed and so I ticked excellent for all aspects. I particularly noticed the way staff engage with the residents and all the activities being organised to suit their needs. I wish
I have the availability of this kind of care home when I need it for family. Well Done.

Every time we have visited all the staff are very helpful and home is clean. Nothing is too much trouble. We have had family down for a short time and the staff organised a 'tea' so we could bring the great-grandchildren and granddaughters etc to see their great-grandparents. Fantastic time for all.
They have both been in Rest Haven for 2 - 4 weeks but settled in so well by the staff. All the staff are considerate and nothing is too much trouble - even sorting out furniture in the rooms.

My honest opinion is that my mother is afforded very good care by all the staff. She seems happy and generally very healthy considering her age and it is very reassuring to know that she is in a kind caring and considerate place.

I have completed this with my mum and she answered how she feels. There is a lot to improve on for example food, activities and also a shortage of staff. We however understand that the issues are being dealt with. It will be interesting to complete another survey in a few months' time.

Since my 86 year old mother moved to Rest Haven in March 2022 I have been repeatedly struck by the caring, friendly and efficient way that Rest Haven is run. My mother, who is in the early stages of dementia, visibly looks healthier than when she was living independently. This may be due to the excellent
food which they serve! The manager and all the staff could not be friendlier or more professional. I have seen them treat my mother as an individual, and allowed her to be herself in what is still a strange environment for her. For example, she likes to sit in the office and chat/read a newspaper, because she has a history of office work and this is somewhere where she feels comfortable. I had misgivings about how she would fare living in a communal environment, but she seems content and well looked after and I consider myself fortunate to have found Rest Haven. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this small and friendly home.
