Michaelstowe is an attractive period residence situated in the Ridgeway, at the heart of Plympton near the town of Plymouth.

There is a friendly and passionate team on hand 24 hours a day providing assistance with every everyday task required. Each individual has their own tailored care plan allowing for choice and flexibility.

Michaelstowe provides residential care and care for those living with dementia. The home offers both permanent placements and shorter term respite placements flexible to each individual and situation.

The home provides a warm, friendly and relaxed environment with spacious indoor communal areas, a garden, decking area and a conservatory. Bedrooms come fully furnished to a high standard inclusive of an en-suite with the option of bringing in personal furniture items and belongings.

Activities and events are a key part of the day at Michaelstowe ranging from larger group activities to smaller quieter arrangements, there is always something for everyone. The chef understands that mealtimes are important which is why there is a varied and nutritious menu to offer.

I am very happy that the care my mom gets & the support & contact I receive. The staff do all they can to allow my mom to keep her dignity and individuality. She can be a handful sometimes. They go above & beyond to make her feel happy & at home.

I feel it's not a building that makes a home but the staff and they have always been very friendly and approachable. I have been to a few homes in our area in the last couple of months visiting relatives and Michaelstowe definitely came top. The manager and staff have always looked and are very busy,
they all are very professional and kind to our family, they are happy to resolve any problems.

My mother-in-law has been at Michaelstowe for several months now. It is a great relief that she has 24-hour care in a friendly home where she has all she needs. Compared to having carers call to her home twice a day.
She has plenty of people and activities to interact with.
All of the staff are
friendly and welcoming when we visit and keep us fully updated on her care.
The relatives' gateway is fantastic, we can see everything we need connected to her care and well-being 24/7.
It's lovely that we can spend time and even eat there or take her out for trips etc.

My stepfather has been at Michaelstowe for two weeks now. There is a "relatives gateway" where family members can add photos and messages and also see a daily care review every day. This saves any phone calls to check up on your loved ones! The staff are caring and professional, whether dealing with

My mum has been at Michaelstowe for several weeks now. She has gone from being in her house alone and only seeing family and friends rarely to being in a friendly home where she has all she needs.
She has plenty of people to interact with and the staff are friendly and welcoming when I come to visit

My mum has been in other homes and hated them. Michaelstowe was amazing, and my mum was very happy there. She loved chatting with all the carers and residents. The manager is excellent, and while on leave, she sorted out a carer and transport to take my mum to my niece's wedding. The care is first class.

Mum's quality of life has improved greatly since she moved into Michaelstowe. She has a lovely room, enjoys good food and really loved being in the company of others. The staff are kind, caring and professional. All her medical needs ate monitored from administering medication to routine check-ups.

We visited Mum twice in September of 2022. The staff were considerate, happy and kind towards Mum. She genuinely liked the people looking after her (thank you!).
She looked good and happy. Her care for diabetes and dementia was excellent. Mum liked the food and the garden/conservatory area. She enjoys
time chatting with her friends and the music afterwards.

After visiting other care providers, I felt that Michaelstowe offered the best facility for my mother. Staff have been and are very friendly, helpful and good with residents. My mother settled in well and is very happy with her care and staff. Although the rooms aren't huge they do have what she needs
and are very clean and she has a lovely view from her window. The staff work very hard in sometimes challenging circumstances, but are always friendly and have a happy nature. They are very caring and on call as soon as needed.

Very pleasant, warm and friendly staff with excellent food. Everything very obviously homemade with excellent variety.
Unfortunately the patient was very deaf and therefore chose not to eat in the canteen or go in the lounge with the consequences of becoming bored and become quite isolated in his
room, however the kitchen was opposite his room and the staff would communicate.

We placed my mum-in-law in a home back in August 2018. Since being in there she has received excellent care from all the staff. Everyone is patient and devotes 100% to every resident. The food is outstanding and every day my mum-in-law clears her plate, something she never always did. Her room is always
clean and tidy. Overall her care is exceptional and I'd highly recommend Michaelstowe to anyone looking for care for a loved one.
