When mum arrived at home she was frightened, very nervous, now confident, alert and taking control of her life. On arrival could not walk unaided now walking with aid of frame much more independent resulting in her enjoying taking part in activities getting her life back. This is a result of the work,
interest, caring and interested staff making the home a friendly, contented home for the whole. Would like to thank the work of the staff for giving my brother and myself our mum back - thank you.

Plymbridge House staff have been supportive, caring and considerate to my mother-in-laws needs. They arrange outings and activities. They keep us well informed and ensure we are involved with her care plan. We are very pleased with the service the care home provides and would recommend there highly.

On the whole I find Plymbridge House friendly and welcoming. The staff always update me regarding the health of mum. Whether she's brighter or has an off day. They continue to observe their needs, and try their best to keep up with activities etc. The lady who organises the activities does an excellent
job, keeping up with special days such as Easter and Christmas, with decorating the home and making it very inviting and cheerful and always on hand to answer any questions that I have. At the end of the day those ladies have a very demanding job until all sort of problems which need tact and patience and above all love their job.

The staff are all very caring and sensitive to my mothers needs. The management are also involved in the care and aware of the needs of individual residents. The house is clean and very warm. The house has a wonderful prize winning garden which is very well used by the residents and friends/family whenever
it is warm enough. The spring flowers are already showing their faces and offering a talking point,. The hairdresser keeps mum looking tidy and the activity lady always tries to include mum in whatever is happening.

I have roughly lived here for fourteen years, I've enjoyed my time here. The staff are always friendly. I live quite near my daughter and she comes to see me quite often as its only up the road. I have a lovely room and I love the food here. I go out to dinner with staff and other outings. I enjoy the
garden in the summer, I stay up and watch t.v most evenings it's just like being at home.

My mother has been here for the last 3 years, with Parkinsons and now Dementia and is now receiving end of life care at present, for which as a family we are eternally grateful to know that she is receiving the best possible care with the greatest dignity. The staff here are truly wonderful and a pleasure
to be with despite the difficulty of all the other residents, my mother could not be in better hands than here.

I hold a Diploma in European Humanities, and two level 5 Diplomas in Leadership and Management, and Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care.


Following 20 years in the Prison Service, where I worked as a Governor in some of the toughest establishments in the UK, I have worked in Social care for over 10 years at the Home Manager level and above.

I have managed Multi-Sites, and turnaround projects, and commissioned new, luxury homes, and Retirement Villages with a Domiciliary Care Agency.


I used to be a real stress head, working in highly volatile environments tends to do that! However, about 6 years ago I came across a new psychology, a new way of experiencing reality and the world around me and nothing has been the same since.


I love to travel and adventure and have walked 250km of the Camino Frances, an ancient pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela with my teenage son. A truly memorable and life-changing experience. I am a black belt in mixed martial arts, but prefer reason as a means to overcome differences!
