My Mum has just completed a year at Avon Lee Lodge and last week celebrated her 100th Birthday there. The party that they provided for her was nothing short of fantastic and way beyond any of our expectations. All of the residents were invited to join in and the staff were brilliant as was the entertainer.
Mum had a great time and typical of the days she has spent as a resident there. The staff are very caring and obliging and I would thoroughly recommend them if you want your loved ones to be very comfortable and as importantly, happy.

My mum was discharged from hospital for respite/interim care until such a time when she can safely go home with possible home care support. My dad is poorly with newly diagnosed cancer and is not in a position to assist my mum at home with personal care needs and manual handling. She has an ongoing
serious urine infection which can get to a serious level. The staff have been quick to act on this, getting her medical assistance as well as monitoring her. My mum didn't like being in a care home to start with as she is very able cognitively but needed physical assistance. She found some of the other clients challenging to be with but with the help of some good quality care staff she feels well looked after. Well done to all the ladies and gents at Avon Lee Lodge. Special mention to one member of staff in particular and the cook.

Mum is now settled and says she is most content, I visit her often and always find her enthusiastic. On the few occasions I've needed to talk to a member of staff I've always been met with politeness and understanding, without doubt the staff have in their upmost thoughts the safety and wellbeing of
the residents. Mum generally is pleased with the menu she's served and when necessary the chef has adjusted various preferences she has.
Avon Lee came recommended to our family, I would in turn have no reservations recommending it to anyone looking for residential care for a loved one.

Dad went into Avon Lee after a hospital stay for respite however after an Alzheimer's diagnosis he is now a permanent resident. The updates daily are great and the care he is receiving is excellent.

The best decision that we made for our Mum with regard to welfare was to arrange for her to become a resident at Avon Lee Lodge. Right from the initial interview with the then care manager, we knew that Mum was going to be well looked after in a caring, considerate and supportive environment. At all
levels, from the managers right through to the day-to-day care staff, we always felt that not only was Mum cared for and looked after, but we were also kept well informed through the app or via timely phone calls. There is a huge effort from everyone at Avon Lee to ensure that residents are kept stimulated and entertained with daily activities and should the need arise, medical assistance is quickly arranged and daily treatment carefully monitored. I have no hesitation in giving Avon Lee Lodge the very highest recommendation for anyone considering becoming a resident in this care home.

You looked after my mother for four years and I could not have wished for better care for her. All the staff have been very helpful, friendly and always with a smile. Mam knew she was well-liked and in turn liked all the staff but I have special thanks for one member of staff in particular, who was

Staff are all so friendly and feel that my mum has settled well here. I go home feeling reassured I did the right thing and chose the right care home for her. The care home has a large variety of different entertainment every day including local animals coming in for a visit. Bingo. Vocalist. Plays.
Reminiscing with the staff. Games with the staff. Arts and crafts. Always plenty to do. Staff will always go above and beyond to help and will do anything for you. And I always get offered a coffee.

Thank you to the team at Avon Lee Lodge for looking after Mum so well. She has been a resident since mid-2022 and when admitted was in need of a lot of emotional support to cope with her dementia, which made her very confused and anxious. The staffing team are so supportive and gentle with Mum, working
with the dementia team and always keeping us informed, which is so important as we live far away. The Relatives App is ideal, to be able to check on her day-to-day, as it is difficult to chat with Mum on the phone. The team have taken time to understand Mum's needs, easing her anxieties and supporting her through her trickier times. They have learnt what works best for her, so we feel this is real person-centred care. They jolly her along and encourage her out of her room - she especially loves the music and exercise classes. The team are so kind, patient and an invaluable support to Mum and our family. I would definitely recommend Avon Lee.

Very happy with the care my mum is receiving. Caring staff, lots of great activities and the family are kept up to date if there are any concerns. It's good to have that reassurance when the family can't visit as often as they would like due to distance. Would recommend.

My mum has been with Avon Lee Lodge for almost a year now, and her care has been exemplary. As she suffers from mixed dementia, she does have her awkward days where she is very prone to tears, and the staff at Avon Lee treat her with great patience, always giving emotional support when required. The
frequent parties they hold for residents and staff are very good with an excellent buffet provided and the singers are always first class. Avon Lee has plenty of daily activities going on, and Mum particularly enjoys the creature teachers and being able to hold all the various animals they bring in. The online portal isn't perfect but gives a very good insight into how Mum is doing, which is particularly useful as both my sister and I live at a distance. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the care that Mum is receiving at Avon Lee Lodge. Many thanks to all the staff for their hard work!

During the first month, the kindness and support she received from all of the staff have helped her overcome her fears and worries about the move. She has at all times been treated with dignity; concern when required and showered with sprinklings of good humour. The patience shown has been exemplary.
The inclusion of daily activities and entertainment is something my stepmother really enjoys and having a list of the month's forthcoming events gives her something to look forward to, but also provides an important reminder of previous days' goings on. Especially important as her memory is not what it was. The online portal provides a useful and reassuring indication of how each of my stepmother's days have passed and helps to negate any misinformation that may transpire from her recollections. The structure of the information recorded on the portal is not perfect but adequately indicates how she is and what she has been doing.

Avon Lee Lodge have helped us out of an emergency situation with my mother who was really struggling with independent living. Firstly they worked hard to get all the paperwork completed quickly to get my mother a place, and then they have liaised with the local GP and MHT to get the medication sorted
so that my mum can be relaxed and feel safe and settle in this care home. They have been professional, tolerant, and at all times caring for my mother's needs. It is also really helpful to have the care notes online so that we can see how mum is getting on day to day. We have had the most relaxed 3 weeks in the last 3 years in the knowledge that mum is finally safe and cared for. A difficult transition for most, but made so much easier by the team at Avon Lee.

Avon Lee Lodge is an excellent care home. The staff are genuine and extremely compassionate and empathic. They have been incredible during Covid and the leadership has been amazing. They have been ahead of the curve, making outstanding clinical decisions to ensure safety for residents and their staff.
The staff are superb and know the residents so well. Queries are dealt with efficiently and calmly. Any medical issues are attended to efficiently. The care staff are outstanding also. I am very pleased with my mother's care.

My mum firstly went into Avon Lee Lodge, in October 2020. My mum and dad were in quite bad health at the time, both had suffered several falls at home, and both were in need of respite care. We found Avon Lee to be accommodating, especially as we were in need of a double room, so they could remain together.
Sadly my dad's health deteriorated very quickly, and he was only able to spend one night in Avon Lee. He passed away the following week and mum returned to Avon Lee. The care and support she has received has been so good. Suffering from Dementia, and the loss of her husband of 66 years, mum, myself and my sisters found the whole situation extremely distressing. We know mum is in a safe place within Avon Lee, even in these awful times. The staff are always available to speak on the phone, and they will take the phone to her. The daily report on their system is very thorough. Whilst visiting hasn't been available, it's good to see how her day has gone. We would recommend highly.

We, as a family, feel so lucky to have found Avon Lee Lodge for our Mum.
The level of care and concern for Mums wellbeing has been exceptional.
It is so difficult to get this right, and we know our Mum is in a safe, warm, comfortable environment being cared for by lovely staff who have really got
to know her, and a fantastic administration team who always pick up the phone, respond promptly to emails and follow things through.
The Covid pandemic has created extraordinary problems for care homes everywhere, and Avon Lee Lodge had done an incredible job in keeping residents safe and using an empathic common sense approach to visiting.
Cannot recommend this lovely care home highly enough.

My aunt lived in Avon Lee Lodge for 7 years before her death at 100 years old in August this year. She was extremely happy with all aspects of the home and particularly with her room on the top floor overlooking the back garden. The staff were extremely dedicated and looked after her so well, especially
in her last 3 months of life when she needed 24/7 bedcare. I have no hesitation to recommend this home as it is privately run by the owners and they are extremely flexible in their approach.
My aunt did not suffer from dementia but many people do and the home is willing to help them.
Also the house is very comfortable and has a nice, bright conservatory for patients.
This year has been difficult with Covid but the home were extremely sensible and went into lockdown a week earlier than the national one and they managed to get through the year with not a single case of Covid. Well done!
In addition, the home have now built some pods in the garden which have a lounge and separate bedroom.

Comforting to know that Mum is safe and receiving excellent care within a home where the residents are an integral part of the warm and friendly environment. The care and administrative team clearly provide a professional and efficient service where everyone is working together to promote the health
and well-being of each individual resident. During these difficult times with Covid-19, it is evident that every precaution is taken to protect Mum, and yet I have been able to visit either in the garden or in one of the garden pods, whilst adhering to the requirements stipulated quite rightly by Avon Lee Lodge.

My wife and I stayed for 9 days for me to receive respite care and for control of my morphine requirement, successfully achieved.
