My mother has been a resident at Coneygar for over 15 years. Any personal health issues she has are dealt with compassionately and professionally. Staff are friendly, approachable, and an extension to our family. The premises are extremely well kept and high standards are always maintained. There are
always activities/trips available and personal interests are encouraged. Coneygar has provided her with a safe haven within a community environment.

My mother has now been at Coneygar Lodge for a year, and I have nothing but praise and thanks for the care she is receiving. Prior to that, she lived in her own flat, where she was lonely, with time to dwell and wallow on the past.
Now, she has all the benefits of a modern-day care home - food, lodging,
medical care, etc - but, just as importantly for her, company, social interaction, and afternoon activities. The staff are excellent - always going the extra mile for residents and visitors alike (a cup of tea and slice of cake is always welcome after a 94 mile drive to visit my mother). Having a mother-in-law also in residential care owned by one of the "big boys", the sense of intimacy in this family-run independent home is refreshing, where decisions are made on-site, and not governed by people in white ivory towers. Highly recommended.

Mum has been a resident at Coneygar Lodge for six years and her care has been exceptional. In the last few months her health has deteriorated with many challenging issues, these have been dealt with by all the staff in a compassionate, professional and caring way. I cannot thank all at Coneygar Lodge
enough for everything that they do for Mum. Really above and beyond what you might expect. Mum and I will always be grateful.

Mum has been at Coneygar Lodge for four years and she has always had excellent care.
Recently as her health has deteriorated, the staff have been so kind and caring which has been so comforting.
The home is always beautifully clean and there are some lovely staff working here who are very friendly
and welcoming.

I cannot speak highly enough of Coneygar Lodge Care Home. The care and attention given to my mother is exemplary. The home itself is always very clean, well kept and has a lovely, relaxed, homely, family atmosphere. I am made very welcome whenever I visit. All the staff are very kind, caring and compassionate
with meeting the needs of all the residents being of paramount importance. Every effort is made to cater for the individual with time spent getting to know the likes, dislikes, interests and history of the residents enabling their care to be highly individualised.
It is clear that Coneygar Lodge is very well managed and all staff are valued. I have no hesitation in recommending Coneygar Lodge and I am grateful to all the staff there for the care given to my mother.

My mother-in-law was at Coneygar Lodge for over 3 years and during that time she was looked after perfectly. We could not fault any of the care and attention. The food is excellent (having eaten Christmas Lunch with her I can confirm absolutely the cooking is delicious!).
Towards the end, the staff
were very kind and thoughtful, both to my mother in law and my husband.
I would not hesitate to recommend this care home - it has a family feel to it and everyone is prepared to spend the time to talk to you.

My mother died very recently and I would like to thank the management and staff at Coneygar Lodge where she spent a very happy last year and half. She was looked after impeccably and was able to live in the way that suited her - something that was important to her and to her family. She had lived alone
for many years and very much appreciated the way she was able to continue in that style but with the added security and care Coneygar Lodge gave her. Her family were not only made welcome but included in the family feeling of the home. My mother often said she couldn’t have found anywhere better. She was delighted with her room which was light and airy, with washing and loo facilities en suite. A notable cook herself, she praised the food and was happy that she was able to eat in her own room. She liked the way she was treated, hands off if possible, but with gentle personal care when she needed it. Staff picked up on infection or illness quickly and acted on it at once. Most importantly, she was able to end her days in her own place, with her own things around her, and with familiar people caring for her.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.156)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.156) out of 10 for Coneygar Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.872 for Coneygar Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (41 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 47 Ratings = 4.872

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.284 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Coneygar Lodge is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.4 = 0.909

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
