My father has been a resident at Danmor Lodge now for 6 months. The staff are excellent in their care for all the residents, I have never heard a member of staff raise their voice and most of all they are kind.

My father is happy there, is eating properly and has gained weight since being at Danmor.

I know he is safe and well cared for. His room is clean and bright and his laundry spotless.

The family are made welcome when we visit and are always kept informed of any changes to his wellbeing.

Management are exceptional and lead a strong team who are advocates of dignity, compassion and respect for residents at all times.
The individuals' capacity to make their own decisions is always taken into consideration.
The nursing staff are professional, friendly and treat my mum with the utmost
of care.
The laundry lady provides an excellent service. The home always smells clean/fresh and is odour free. Mum's medical needs are well attended.
The food is of the highest quality/nutritious.
A hairdresser comes in on a weekly basis.
The care home prides itself on providing a home environment. Entertainment is regular/varied.
Video chat is in the process of being implemented. Birthdays are celebrated with a party/cake.
We are always made welcome whenever we visit.
Sadly, the home has recently suffered a number of bereavements and we have seen these situations treated both discreetly and empathetically.
I am not related to or have ever had any connection with the home or its employees.

Staff place being attentive as important. They are prepared for the unexpected and are approachable. Residents clearly enjoy the atmosphere and the engagement offered.

As a near relative and next of kin, I have always appreciated being treated as something more than "just a relative". Instead, by

being made to feel a small part of the home (and I would never ask for more than this) I've been able to help whenever needed.

It's a wonderful caring place.

Throughout the 2 year period that my aunt was resident, she received excellent care and attention and I found the staff were most caring and thoughtful. I really cannot fault them and I am very grateful to all for helping her so sensitively through her final years.

My Mother moved into Danmor Lodge in 2014 as a resident when my father was no longer able to look after her. My Father was greatly concerned about her welfare as he had been looking after her during her decline with dementia and understood her needs better than anyone.
My Mother died on 5th May this
year after more than 4 years at Danmor Lodge and during that time there is no doubt that our Mother received exceptional care from all the staff. In addition, in my Father's own words, Danmor Lodge staff and residents became part of our extended family and my Father has told the staff that he will continue to visit on a monthly basis.
We could not have asked for better care over the 4.5 years that she was a resident for which we as a family will be forever grateful.

My father who is 94 years old and has vascular dementia, always tells me, without me asking him, that he loves being at Danmor Lodge. He says everyone is very jovial and there is always something going on.
For someone with dementia, I find it amazing that he says this. Every time my family visit,
he says, "I love it here and the food is good". Not many homes have homemade cakes every day and not many offer a cup of tea or coffee whenever you visit. Danmor does.
The activities ladies work hard each day to keep the residents entertained. My father always looks spotless and smart. The rooms are clean, and everywhere is free from the smell of urine. All the staff are dedicated to their work, they are wonderful. Danmor Lodge is a great find, and as a family, we are so grateful my father is living in such a warm and homely environment.

A friendly, clean, comfortable home with caring staff, excellent food - with several choices for each meal - and a range of activities and outings to suit all residents. Nothing is too much trouble, visitors are always made very welcome and there are no restrictions on visiting times. There is sufficient
staff to give all residents the time/care they require.
My mum is extremely happy there and cannot speak highly enough of the staff, this includes office staff too who are always available to talk over any issues. This is my Mums' second home - the first closed down - and I wish I'd found this one first!

We were lucky a room was available at Danmor Lodge Ltd, as my mother suddenly needed residential care. Fortunately, some friends had already investigated care homes in Weymouth for their mother, so we knew Danmor Lodge Ltd, to be a good home.
Well done to the manager and the staff who provide a splendid
home from home for my mother and the other residents.

My mother has been a resident of Danmor Lodge since December 2013 and seems happy and settled there. The home has a homely feel and this is why I chose Danmor. The staff are on the whole excellent as is the standard of food. Before placing my mother in Danmor Lodge I visited most of the homes locally
and decided this was the best one for her. I visit Danmor daily and I am always made to feel welcome there.

On the first visit to view Danmoor Lodge, we were made very welcome by all staff and had a complete tour. We were shown my aunt's potential room which was spacious, well equipped and with a bathroom. My Aunt who has severe dementia settled in very quickly and we have not looked back since. Whenever
we visit (always unannounced) my aunt is in the lounge well dressed and smart. The attention she receives is first class and time is taken to talk to her and to encourage her to fully participate in activities as much as she is able. The care when feeding her is always patient and gentle and the staff all seem to go the extra mile to make her life comfortable. I would thoroughly recommend Danmoor to anyone who is seeking a caring home for a relative which you can trust at all levels.

My father, who has vascular dementia, moved into Danmor Lodge in August this year. Within a week he had settled in, telling us as a family, how much he liked where he was. This was without prompting and he still tells us how lucky he is to be living there.
The staff are so kind and attentive, caring
and patient. My father is always dressed immaculately, with ironed shirts! (In his previous home in Dorchester, his clothes were not ironed).
The food is excellent, home-made cakes every day. The ladies who do the activities are wonderful. We are so lucky to have found this amazing home, my father is 94 and we feel he will enjoy the remaining time here in Danmor Lodge.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.450)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.450) out of 10 for Danmor Lodge Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.750 for Danmor Lodge Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (64 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.75

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Danmor Lodge Ltd is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
