Mum comes twice a week from 10-4pm. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly and Mum always has a huge smile when she sees them. She, unfortunately, can't remember much about her day but she is usually chatting and very animated when I pick her up. I am so pleased she has The Hyde to go to.

I would like to say that Hyde Care Home provide excellent service to the residents. Most importantly they consider their residents are one of their family members. Excellent surroundings and good atmosphere, very friendly staff, good facilities - like food, rooms services, conducting mind relaxing programs
for the residents etc. Overall Hyde care home provides Excellent Care services.

My mother has been a resident in The Hyde for almost a year. The care she has received has been wonderful, and she has not always been easy to care for. The staff are incredible and have such patience and kindness. The staff are also very understanding of the worries of the relatives and are in constant
communication. I cannot praise the home more.

This lovely care home is let down by the variety and quality of the food. Older people like basic, home cooking, not fancy multinational dishes. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Every visit is a delight. The home is clean, tidy and ordered and the staff are faultlessly polite, attentive and caring. It's a joy to sit in the beautiful gardens with my mum and have tea on the lawn. Thank you to all at The Hyde for the gentle and attentive way that you care for my mum.

Kindness and respect shown to all - residents and visitors alike. The carers are creative and fun, changing the scenes in the living room/dining room to suit the seasonal events. Daily menu changes and residents can import their own wine - a useful tonic! In all - Bravo!

My grandfather loves his new home at the Hyde. He speaks very highly of all the staff here on all our visits. The staff are very well versed in Covid protections and always are accommodating of our visits, while prioritising safety.

Beautiful location and home. My father-in-law is quite pleased with the staff's care and food quality. He looks forward to more activities as covid-19 potentially subsides. I've never been inside Hyde House and thus cannot comment due to covid 19 restrictions.

The care provided at The Hyde is fantastic, all the staff go way beyond being a carer it is family. Both my brother and I travel 130 miles to see mum and would not even consider moving her nearer to us.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and provided a level of support and care that demonstrated their genuine love for our relative. As well as being professional and diligent in their care towards our relative, it was all the "small things" that made it a special level of care eg. favourite music,
belongings, pictures etc to ensure our relative felt special and was comforted during a difficult time.

The Hyde provided wonderful care to Mum over the years. They assessed what the hospital thought was an invalid needing palliative care in September 2016, got her walking again, appreciating food, leisure and love.
The thoughtfulness of the staff in recent days, leading up to Mum's passing, has been
wonderful. We're glad Mum was at home (after hospital visit) and so was she. They enabled her to feel confident and peaceful.
The staff always ensured that mum was loved.

Owing to the Covid restrictions, it isn't possible to comment on all the categories. My sister has been in They Hyde since October 29th 2020 and I have never been into her room. She has gradually settled in and seems at home. She certainly looks very well, thanks to regular meals. However, she feels
the quality of the food could be improved, also variety.

Many thanks for writing a review. Thank you for your very positive comments about how your sister has settled into The Hyde, and that she feels “at home”. This is so important to us, we do try to provide a “home from home” atmosphere and experience for the people who live with us, so thank you. We are pleased to receive your feedback regarding the current food offering at The Hyde and several changes have recently been made. We have moved across to the new Spring Menu in the home, which means that the variety has changed for our residents, and the interim home manager is continuing to check the quality of the food and also the service. We have introduced a new dining experience on a Saturday with a “Themed Meal” of the residents’ choice, and this is being thoroughly enjoyed, and the feedback has been excellent. We have, as you know, a beautiful walled kitchen garden at the back of the house, and we have served our first fresh asparagus from the beds there, with many more.

Introducing Rebecca Dawe
Home Manager at The Hyde, Bridport


What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Empathy, dignity and wellbeing.”


As a dedicated healthcare professional, Rebecca has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Rebecca closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She decided to work in the care sector because, as a young child, she helped her grandmother care for children with learning difficulties; this gave her a passion to improve the lives of others.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Rebecca remarked:


“Working in an amazing team who are dedicated in providing the highest levels of care.”


Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family, including her sons, and she also enjoys travelling. She counts herself very lucky that she was able to go traveling to East Africa and worked in two orphanages and a maternity hospital.
