Castle Dene care home is located between Bournemouth and Christchurch. It benefits from great shopping facilities with Castle Point shopping complex near at hand. There are lots of local attractions and excellent transport links. The countryside is close to Castle Dene with access to a nature reserve. With Bournemouth’s sandy beaches and spectacular coastline just a few miles away, this area is an amazing place to live. The fantastic range of local amenities mean that there's always something for residents and visiting loved ones to enjoy.

The respected Bournemouth care home boasts plenty of spaces for residents to socialise and relax, including bright and homely living and communal areas as well as a spacious conservatory. The on-site hair salon is a favourite of residents and Castle Dene also offers a large landscaped garden, often tended to by green-fingered residents, which is a quiet, tranquil space for residents to enjoy.

The home has an Activity Lead who fills the days with interesting and enjoyable activities geared to the residents' wellbeing. But there is always the opportunity to simply relax with a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

Fantastic, friendly staff, lovely environment for residents. Activities twice a day, have salon and manicure weekly. The food is first-rate, prepared by a team of chefs. Homemade care and tea every afternoon. I highly recommend.

My Nan has been here since Christmas Eve 2020 following a stay in Hospital. It's been hard not being with her but the way the home has coped with Covid has been amazing. Not a single case here. As I say it's been hard but needed. And now with visits allowed, it's great. Still restricted to certain people
but rightly so. Even if we can't see her in person, the ladies are more than happy to bring her to a window to talk over the phone for as long as we like. All the staff are friendly and happy. She's definitely well taken care of, so thank you.

Happy that my mum is having excellent care at Queensmead. Staff are fantastic - they always keep me up to date with how Mum is doing. They are caring and understanding of Mums condition and always 'up-beat' despite the circumstances. My dad died last month, but Mum is too ill to realise. They have been

Overall, I feel there is an excellent standard of care. There is good continuity of staff and awareness of dad's needs. The staff are stretched at times but still treat the residents with dignity and respect.
I live in Australia and sometimes find it frustrating that I am in a different time zone.
If there was a member of staff available to help with internet video calling that would help keep in touch.

My dad has received very thoughtful care. He has needed a medical review from time to time and staff have kept me informed.
The staff are very kind and are encouraging to my dad. They praise him for his efforts with mobility and are patient and understanding when not so able.
The gardens are a cheery
focus for my dad (although out of season). Dad loves the trees from the window.

Each time I visit Queensmead I am impressed, above all, by how friendly, patient and kind the staff are. The residents are well cared for here. Although my mother-in-law is now unable to take part as much as before, I see the regular number of trips out which Queensmead run and which are much appreciated.
My mother-in-law loves the food on offer here. She is always treated with respect. Some aspects of the resident's rooms could be improved but nothing major. Communication by management is excellent.

I wish to thank the management and staff at Queensmead as they have saved my life twice now. They cared for my dad in 2015, and in August this year, when I was feeling completely overwhelmed with worry about how to provide the best care for my mum, turned to Queensmead for help again. My mum's memory
has been deteriorating for the last year and after a fall I had to face the fact that she could no longer cope alone at home. I can't thank the staff at Queensmead enough for the complete care she is given, and for the activities that they involve her in. When I come to visit my spirits feel uplifted as soon as I enter the home. I feel so grateful for all the enthusiastic and friendly care and support all the residents receive.

“Prior to joining Care South, I worked in a residential care home for 14 years where I started as a Care Assistant and progressed to Manager of the Dementia Community. I have a number of formal qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social care and in 2021, in my previous role, I won Manager of the Year at our annual awards.


My Mum was a Community Carer and gave me the push that I needed to go into the care industry, I have never looked back and love working in such a rewarding industry because every day is different. I get to meet people who all have different stories to tell, and I love making a difference in people’s lives and making sure that high-quality care is delivered daily.


I am extremely excited for the future of Castle Dene and very proud to be the Registered Manager of such a wonderful home.”
