Castle Dene care home is located between Bournemouth and Christchurch. It benefits from great shopping facilities with Castle Point shopping complex near at hand. There are lots of local attractions and excellent transport links. The countryside is close to Castle Dene with access to a nature reserve. With Bournemouth’s sandy beaches and spectacular coastline just a few miles away, this area is an amazing place to live. The fantastic range of local amenities mean that there's always something for residents and visiting loved ones to enjoy.

The respected Bournemouth care home boasts plenty of spaces for residents to socialise and relax, including bright and homely living and communal areas as well as a spacious conservatory. The on-site hair salon is a favourite of residents and Castle Dene also offers a large landscaped garden, often tended to by green-fingered residents, which is a quiet, tranquil space for residents to enjoy.

The home has an Activity Lead who fills the days with interesting and enjoyable activities geared to the residents' wellbeing. But there is always the opportunity to simply relax with a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

I accompanied my husband on a visit to a museum in Southampton with four other residents and two ladies, one being the activities coordinator. A most interesting trip. Lovely picnic lunch provided which we all enjoyed. It was obvious a lot of thought had gone into the trip. Thank you to all concerned
in the organisation of this outing.

This is an excellent home with plenty of caring staff. I am so pleased that we chose Queensmead and that my mother was happy with the choice.
The staff are always keen to encourage her to use the lounge areas and join in activities. The links between the home and nurses and doctors remain strong.
The attitude of all concerned in my mother's care is always positive and supportive. She especially enjoyed playing football with the Football club players!

My precious mum was at Queensmead for over 4 years. Every member of staff cared for, loved and kept my mum safe as if she were their very own, that's all I could have wished for.
She was treated with the utmost respect and dignity, even though at times she was a bit of a handful!
I would recommend
Queensmead, as I'm sure your family member/friend would be treated as well my lovely mum has been.

My client was in for respite care and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
The admission process was made as easy as possible.

During the time my husband has been at Queensmead, I have found the management and staff to be open and friendly, approachable at all times - when you enter the front door, there is always a smile and 'hello' from one of the staff to make you feel welcome. There is a quiet and happy atmosphere in this
home and the residents are treated with kindness and dignity. The lounges are bright and airy and comfortable and the residents have space to walk around freely if they want to. If someone has a problem they are attended to straight away in a quiet and confident manner. Queensmead is open to family and friends at all times of the day, which is a great compliment to everyone there.

My father has been at Queensmead since last August and has dementia. My mother and I have been extremely happy with the home from the time he moved in. The staff are all very welcoming whenever you visit, they treat everyone with dignity, patience and kindness. The home is spacious and comfortable and
has a calm and happy feel to it. My father has always said he is happy and content which is a big comfort to my mother and myself. I would thoroughly recommend it!.

It is a difficult situation as most of the residents have dementia, some quite badly. The staff deal with this calmly and compassionately. Sometimes it would seem there are not enough staff to deal with these challenging clients.

Queensmead is an excellent care home is pleasant surroundings. The staff are very kind, caring and patient with all the residents and treat them with the utmost respect.
The food is good and varied and the residents are encouraged to participate in the activities if they are physically and mentally
able to do so.
Visitors and friends of the residents are also welcomed in a friendly and caring manner.
My husband has been a resident in Queensmead since August 2018 and is very happy, contented and settled there.

My in-laws moved into Queensmead care home in May 2017. Although my father in law had to move on in September 2017 due to complex needs, the staff did everything to keep him safe and happy. It is a great comfort to us that our mother is so well cared for and nothing is too much trouble to staff. I cannot
recommend highly enough.

My dad came in 18 months ago and had increasing severe Alzheimer’s. He was so well cared for and allowed to be himself ( which meant lots of singing and wandering around!). The staff were always so welcoming to family and nothing was ever too much trouble. We trusted their judgment completely.

had quite a rapid decline and in the final few days, the care and respect the staff gave to both our dad and us was outstanding.

“Prior to joining Care South, I worked in a residential care home for 14 years where I started as a Care Assistant and progressed to Manager of the Dementia Community. I have a number of formal qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social care and in 2021, in my previous role, I won Manager of the Year at our annual awards.


My Mum was a Community Carer and gave me the push that I needed to go into the care industry, I have never looked back and love working in such a rewarding industry because every day is different. I get to meet people who all have different stories to tell, and I love making a difference in people’s lives and making sure that high-quality care is delivered daily.


I am extremely excited for the future of Castle Dene and very proud to be the Registered Manager of such a wonderful home.”
