Castle Dene care home is located between Bournemouth and Christchurch. It benefits from great shopping facilities with Castle Point shopping complex near at hand. There are lots of local attractions and excellent transport links. The countryside is close to Castle Dene with access to a nature reserve. With Bournemouth’s sandy beaches and spectacular coastline just a few miles away, this area is an amazing place to live. The fantastic range of local amenities mean that there's always something for residents and visiting loved ones to enjoy.

The respected Bournemouth care home boasts plenty of spaces for residents to socialise and relax, including bright and homely living and communal areas as well as a spacious conservatory. The on-site hair salon is a favourite of residents and Castle Dene also offers a large landscaped garden, often tended to by green-fingered residents, which is a quiet, tranquil space for residents to enjoy.

The home has an Activity Lead who fills the days with interesting and enjoyable activities geared to the residents' wellbeing. But there is always the opportunity to simply relax with a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

Mum stayed at Queensmead for 2 weeks respite care following a stay in hospital.
The staff were caring, cheerful and friendly at all times helping residents when needed.
They are very patient and nothing was too much trouble.

My Aunt entered the home and was immediately treated to a welcoming committee. From that moment all the staff treated her with warmth, humour and respect, they are wonderful. The communication between management and staff was wonderful and they couldn't have been more kind to my aunt and her family
and friends. I take great solace that my aunt spent her last days in such a special place as Queensmead. Thank you.

After an initial 2 weeks respite care my husband returned to Queensmead just over 6 weeks ago. Much to my surprise, he has settled in amazingly well due, I am sure, to all the attention he is getting from staff. There is a nice friendly atmosphere and it doesn't feel like a care home.

Mum came to Queensmead towards the end of March 2018. From the beginning, we could see as a family that she was settling in very quickly. She was treated with great care in a very friendly manner. I found Queensmead to be a very caring and homely care home. The staff were excellent and treated residents in a very friendly manner and with dignity. Previous activities organiser - excellent - has now left, needs to be replaced asap. Some residents have no visitors or anyone to take them out, need more social interaction and activities to keep them active and their minds occupied.

Queensmead is the most wonderful care home. I was very reluctant to put my grandmother in a home due to all the horror stories you hear. The rooms are lovely at Queensmead. The staff are fantastic and they do so many activities and outings, it's amazing.


My grandma has thrived there and they have

My sister has been a resident at Queensmead for nearly a year and she has been very happy there. The staff are very caring I believe that they are very fond of her and she is very appreciative for all they do for her. There are many activities and she was taken to the Pantomime at the Pavillion recently.
The food is excellent with plenty of choices, I was impressed with the quality when I was invited to join her for lunch last week.

My mum has been a resident at Queensmead since June 2016. The staff there have been fantastic. It is quite obvious that all of the staff truly care for the people they look after and treat them as their family in the home. The chefs even join in with the residents and can regularly be seen chatting
in the residents' lounge. The food is very tasty and there is lots of it.

At last we (family) feel we can relax and no longer worry about my mother. She is extremely well cared for by Queensmead. A delightful place to end her days. Caring staff, safety and concerns are a priority. She is unable to enjoy as much as there is available, due to her dementia, but she is invited
to join in, and has enjoyed trips in the care home bus. Queensmead is quite simply excellent, we are kept informed at all times, it is a very happy home.

My mother has been a resident for over four years During her time at Queensmead she has been able to enjoy a lifestyle at least as good as her experience in her own home. She has been well looked after and can really have no complaints. (Being 97years old she can, of course, manage to moan occasionally).

I first visited Queensmead when I was looking for a home for mum. She was in a hospital stroke unit after a stroke. We were very lucky in that she was accepted. Mum spent two years until her death in August 2017. The home and staff were like a family, not only caring for mum but supporting us as a family
through some very difficult times. We will never be able to thank them enough.

“Prior to joining Care South, I worked in a residential care home for 14 years where I started as a Care Assistant and progressed to Manager of the Dementia Community. I have a number of formal qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social care and in 2021, in my previous role, I won Manager of the Year at our annual awards.


My Mum was a Community Carer and gave me the push that I needed to go into the care industry, I have never looked back and love working in such a rewarding industry because every day is different. I get to meet people who all have different stories to tell, and I love making a difference in people’s lives and making sure that high-quality care is delivered daily.
