My mother in law has had good consistent care. She receives kindness and consideration for her needs and her opinion and choice is always heard. I would consider the menu is varied and always looks appetising. The home is kept very clean and tidy and visitors are always welcomed with a smile.

Care staff are lovely, they do their job very well. Clearly there is difficulty keeping up with there is difficulty keeping up with the upkeep of the building.

My mother has been living in Shire House for 3 years and I am speechless as to the care she receives. The staff are amazing, the atmosphere in the house is like a glorious family. We are always made to feel welcome and the siblings are safe in the knowledge that mother is respected and her welfare paramount
to th house. Bravo.

My mother was a resident at Shire House for the last six months of her life. The time came when she couldn't cope on her own any longer - just one visit was enough to know that this was a safe, caring home. It felt as near to being in your own home as possible. There was never any hint of care home
smells, always the pleasant aroma of home cooking. My mother had a room that we were able to make her own and a small patio area where she could enjoy flowers and watch the birds. There was full access to the rest of the house, which she was able to enjoy. The owner, manager and staff were great, worked together and had a can-do attitude. No one really wants a relative to have to go into a care home, but I can honestly say that I'm so glad that we found Shire House for Mum as it gave her company, safety and loving care for the last six months of her life that enabled us as a family to enjoy visiting her several times a week knowing that in between visits she was safe and lovingly cared for.

I have been visiting my friend once a week at Shire House for almost a year. I have been very impressed by the care that my friend receives, the friendly and caring staff and the efficient, accommodating management. The atmosphere in the house is warm and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble for
the hard-working carers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Shire House to anyone.

We chose Shire House because we were looking for a small friendly home for my Aunt. After nearly 10 years of care, it's her home and the dedicated team are her family. With their care and the range of activities, we saw an immediate improvement in my Aunt's health and wellbeing. As things have become
more difficult for her they have continued to support her, encourage and respect her independence. I do not live in the area and nearby family cannot visit as they once did. Having a care home that we can trust and can rely on is essential.

From the first enquiry to hospital assessments, transferred to Shire House was exceptional, fast and efficient. Staff were very helpful form the start. My father settled very quickly with the kind help and continuous care from the staff. He was made to feel safe and secure and comfortable. I enjoyed
a Christmas lunch with him. Other residents and families. I thank the staff.

My mother (the resident) chose this care home in 2012. It was the only care home that did not smell of urine. I was most impressed by the real care and respect given to residents by the care staff. The home was always clean and the food always fresh. I was often pleased to be invited for dinner when
visiting.


The staff were always welcoming and friendly. Mother's care was professional, friendly and caring.

My mother stayed at Shire House for a period of six weeks due to a broken leg. All the staff were very caring and attentive. The home was very clean and the food excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and I would not hesitate in using the home in the future.

This is a perfect place to have found for my mother. It was not how I imagined a care home to be it is just like home from home. She had a very comfortable and well furnished clean room. As for the care I couldn't have wished for better. The staff were caring and attentive and I know she was being cared
for by people who were conscientious and experienced. I would recommend this care home to anyone considering this kind of accommodation.

Staff work very hard and treat Mum individually, knowing her preferences and trying to accommodate them, even when she cannot communicate.
I am contacted if any problems occur to discuss treatments etc.
