Clearly, it's very worrying times for anyone with links to a care home with the Covid-19 epidemic. My mum has been at St Anne's Court since she lost her mobility around 7-years ago. It's always been a great care home with extremely, kind and conscientious staff and a genuine 'Open Door Policy'. Even
my children who were quite young when my mum first began living there and are now 13, are always happy to visit. Anyway, I just want to comment on how well the home is doing in these very difficult times. The manager there is fantastic and has gone out of her way to be in touch personally about my mum, even when she must be so busy. I don't want to tempt providence, but there's no infection there at the moment, we are all praying that it stays this way. Whatever happens, I thank all the excellent staff there, the lovely manager and the wonderful owner of St Anne's Court for providing my mum with brilliant care. She turns 90 in November, and my biggest wish is to celebrate this there.

Reply from Amanda Billington, Owner at St Anne's Court

Thanks for your lovely review Sia, it is a pleasure to care for your Mum and our greatest wish that we will all be able to celebrate her big birthday together in our home in November.

Both my sister and brother were looked after at St Anne's Court - my sister since 2012.
I took my brother to join her when his wife died. One could not have wished for a safer and happier retreat in their last days.
The staff were attentive and efficient and guided by the managers who ensured that
they carried out their care with loving hearts.

In the past, our 90-year-old friend has always refused to consider going into a care home. Unfortunately due to her lack of mobility within her own flat the doctors strongly recommended the need for 24-hour care. We agreed to place our friend in St Anne's court and was surprised at how quickly she has
settled into her new surroundings. She finds the staff warm, helpful, gentle and compassionate. Her comments are always positive and she even asked how long she would be allowed to stay as she felt happy and contented there. This takes a lot of pressure and worry off my wife and myself.

I am (and the whole family) are absolutely astounded at the level of care and support St Anne's Court gave my dad before he sadly passed away. He was so happy here and all the staff were fantastic, genuinely caring people and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you to them all and all the team.
If you want a "really feel" family home for your loved one, then this is the place to go!

My husband was a resident receiving end-of-life care at St Anne's Court recently. I cannot speak highly enough of the way he was cared for and the kindness shown to me and my family. The home is spotless and at all times my husband was treated with dignity and compassion.

My mother was a resident at St Anne's Court for 18 months. During that time she became part of the St Anne's family. She got to know the staff and they, in turn, got to know her and her likes and dislikes. They all treated her with such respect, care, kindness and understanding. She felt very safe and
secure. She always looked forward to the meals which were excellent. We, as relatives, were encouraged to have any meals there, and indeed, we quite regularly had Sunday lunch. This was served to us individually and was delicious. All the staff welcomed us relatives and treated us as family. St Anne's Court has a homely, friendly and caring atmosphere. The residents were encouraged to socialise and participate in activities if they wished to. My mother passed away peacefully here in April 2019. The staff dealt with her death in a truly compassionate and respectful manner.
I would highly recommend St Anne's Court.

I had a look at 5 or 6 care homes for my father and decided on St Anne's due to its friendly staff and secluded location. I'm so glad I did. Being small and very quiet, my father found the transition from his home to care home was seamless as he is so well looked after by all the staff. He loves the
food so much that after 4 weeks, I have had to buy new trousers the next size up. Its a really lovely place and I wouldn't hesitate recommending St Anne's to anyone.

Thank you for your lovely review, it is a pleasure to have your Dad with us. Our new Activities Coordinator has just joined us and you will meet her in the coming days, she will be tailoring a program of engagement/activity for each of our residents according to their interests and personal goals. This is an exciting development for us and will benefit all our residents holistically and enhance the social life of our household. We are developing new links and friendships with our community and inviting individuals and groups in to broaden our engagement.
We will also be launching our new treatment room shortly, where our residents can have their hairdressing, nail care etc done, we will let you know when the opening day will be. It is good to see Dad enjoying his meals, we are due for a "meals and menus" meeting this week, so suggestions would be gladly received.

My cousin settled well soon after arriving at St Anne's Court and has thrived since being there.
Her health has improved and she has put on much-needed weight.
She seems happy in herself and has made it her home.
She enjoys the interaction with staff who are kind and caring towards her, treating
her with respect and dignity.
Staff are obliging and suggestions she has made for improving things have generally been taken up.
She has retained as much of her independence as is possible for someone in her situation.
Staff have always been friendly, positive and polite whenever I have visited the home.

Reply from Amanda Billington, Owner at St Anne's Court

Thank you for your kind review. It is always lovely to see our residents well settled, retaining their independence and enjoying meaningful relationships with staff and other residents.
We are constantly striving to raise our standards, our philosophy is 'if you are not moving forwards, you are slipping back' and so often the little things mean a lot, and a lot of little things when added up can make a happier life.
We will shortly be carrying out our annual quality review in which we ask all parties involved about their views and experiences of all aspects of our service. However we hope our residents, their families and others will feel able to let us know about anything we can do to improve matters at any time.

My mother-in-law has always been very independent still living on her own up to Dec 2017 but had a fall fracturing her knee. After Hospital and rehab, she went to live at St Anne's Court care home where the staff are absolutely amazing and look after her so well. We were worried about this big change
in her life but she is very happy there. Alos celebrating her 95th Birthday and they helped to make her day very happy. They listen to her every need and the staff are all very kind and caring.

Management and staff are very caring and kind. The time is taken to get to know each resident so that individual care is specific. The home is immaculate in its communal areas and always full of flowers. A lovely garden with lovely views at the back from the sitting room. Having tried the food it is
excellent offering many choices to suit the residents. A lovely elegant home.

I found St Anne's to provide a friendly and safe environment where the individual needs of residents were met. Staff were friendly, considerate, kind and caring. Medical input was obtained as necessary. The end of life care provided was good and meant that the resident was able to stay in a familiar
environment, rather than move to an unfamiliar nursing home or hospital setting.

Both my parents were residents at St Anne's Court from May 2015 to my dad's death in July 2015 and my mum's death in March 2017. During that time, I was very impressed with the way we were all treated as family by staff and management. I was especially impressed with my parents' end of life care - at
a very difficult time, staff showed remarkable care and compassion. As a family, our every request was met with tenderness. I felt staff genuinely loved both my parents.

Reply from Janey Goulding, Manager at St Anne's Court

Thank you Annette for a wonderful review. It was our pleasure to care for your parents. You, your Mum and your Dad became very close to us all and became a part of our extended family at St Anne’s Court. We look forward to you visiting us again soon.

My mother chose St Anne's Court on recommendation from a friend. She spent the last two years of her life there and was very happy with her choice. The staff were extremely kind to her and showed all their skills in her final months. The gold standard in end of life care is well deserved. Our family
was always made very welcome at any time and we all got to know some of the new friends mum had made among the residents and joined in some of the activities. I would recommend St Anne's without reservation.

We, and more importantly my aunt had an extremely good experience at St Anne's Court where she resided for 3 weeks before coming home. Staff were very caring and even produced an amazing tea for all the family on her 90th birthday, including presents. Her room, as with the rest of the house was very
clean and she enjoyed the food and company around the dining table. I would definitely recommend St Anne's Court to anyone in the future. First class.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.471)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.471) out of 10 for St Anne's Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.771 for St Anne's Court is calculated as follows: ( (66 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.771

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Anne's Court is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
