My mother became a resident of Milton Grange Rest Home in November 2024. My mother's health and well-being has improved considerably and she is very happy with the overall care she receives, so am I.
The staff at Miltonb Grange are a real credit and I couldn't see my mother living anywhere else. They
take the time to get to know Mum and tend to her every need. Milton Grange is a home from home and I would recommend this rest home to anybody whose relative(s) require this service. Well done Milton Grange, keep up this excellent care service you provide.

My mum has been a resident at Milton Grange since March 2024 and this is now her "forever home".
I couldn't be happier with the kindness, care and support that Mum receives from the wonderful staff, many of whom have a long tenure. They provide individual attention to everyone.
Mum really enjoys
the daily activities, engaging with people, joking with staff and watching the TV. She also loves the food! Her room is bright and spacious, with an ensuite, and the home benefits from a lovely conservatory and large garden.
Mum's dementia is quite complex, and the question I get a consistent answer to is, "Do you love it here?". It's always a firm "yes". In any case, her contentment and health are obvious to see. Which is a relief as I live abroad. And with that, the staff help me with regular video calls to Mum.
The owner is amazing - very experienced, proactive and flexible.
Milton Grange is a special place and in my view, anyone would be lucky to call it their home.

Both my parents have passed happy days here. Dad peacefully passed away 26/12/2014. Mum kept in touch, finally settled here herself in March 2021 (throughout all the uncertainties of the pandemic and subsequent necessary lockdowns) and is now fast approaching her 4th year of admission. We have just
celebrated Mum's 88th birthday today. We became wed this year in July and due to the care and attention close of one particular member of staff whom our mum has grown immensely close to during her time here, we were able to have Mum attend and enjoy both ceremony and reception tea on our most special of days. Thanks you Milton Grange support facilitating Mum's attendance, our immeasurable thanks are due. Such was its importance to ourselves that Mum shared in our very unique day.

Milton Grange is a wonderful home set in Chrminster, Bournemouth. From the very first meeting with the owner, we knew this was the right place for my father. The owner and her staff are very hands-on and make sure that every resident feels safe and at home. All the residents were happy and cared for
with the utmost respect and dignity. The care and support given to my father was above and beyond. Even up until his last day! I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did for Dad! Highly recommended.

Milton Grange Rest Home is a fantastic care home. All the staff are caring, attentive, thoughtful, kind and look after my mum extremely well. They always update me on how she is doing and what activities she has done. She particularly enjoys music and they make sure she listens to her CDs in her room
and also to music in the main lounge with the other residents. All her medical needs are monitored and met extremely well. I feel happy and confident that she is having the best care possible. Thank you to all the staff at Milton Grange - you are great.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.633)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.633) out of 10 for Milton Grange Rest Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.833 for Milton Grange Rest Home is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.833

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Milton Grange Rest Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 16 registered maximum number of service users is 3.2, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
