A warm welcome and smile greet you as you enter Adamscourt, chosen because of its small size and homely feel.
My Dad has been a resident for over two years and has been well looked after. The staff treat residents in a caring, professional, friendly manner, showing respect and maintaining dignity for
each resident. Dad is clean, and comfortable and enjoys the home-cooked cuisine. They encourage him to be as independent as safety allows.
He is not able to participate in many activities but does enjoy music and the singers who visit the home. Recently he enjoyed a trip to a garden centre and New Forest in the minibus.
Thank you to all staff for taking such good care of my wonderful Dad.

Adamscourt is a warm and welcoming home. Since my Dad has lived there he has had wonderful care and attention. The dedicated staff are very kind, caring, compassionate, friendly and helpful and my father is treated with dignity. He is always well turned out, his room is always clean and his belongings
are looked after. The staff are very good at keeping us informed if they have had to seek outside medical help for my Dad at any time and keep us updated. My Dad eats very well and loves his food: they try to accommodate his likes and dislikes with choices at meal times. The home runs fun activities for those that are able to join in and they have trips out in the minibus. Thank you for taking great care of my father. I know he is safe in your hands.

Adamscourt have been amazing with my dad. They really are like a family to him since moving there in February. The staff are kind and really do care about making his time each day a happy one. We are blown away with the activities they put on most days and the trips he has been on this year. With having
dementia it’s so important everything they do for him. He’s happy and has made some lovely friends and the staff have become his friends too and ours. I cannot recommend Adamscourt enough. The food is exceptional and there is so much going on every day he’s always excited to tell us all about where he’s been. We always feel Dad is safe and cared for which is so important to us.

Since my wife has been in Adamscourt, she has had wonderful care and attention.
The carers are very kind and approachable.
The food is fantastic and is cooked fresh on the premises.
In the time my wife has been in Adamscourt, they have organised visits with an optician, dentist and podiatrist.

Adamscourt has cared for my aunt, who has dementia, for three years and eight months. I have power of attorney for my aunt and my aunt was originally moved out of hospital into Adamscourt during the first wave of Covid-19.
The manager and her staff made this transition seamlessly due to their hard
work and application of care despite having to use full PPE and follow government Covid guidelines.
My aunt has been extremely happy at Adamscourt and likes the food.
Whenever the team at Adamscourt have had to seek medical assistance, they have done this immediately and kept me informed all the way through the process.
They understand my aunt's needs due to her dementia and her mobility has been maintained at a level well in excess of what was predicted a few years ago.
My aunt loves her room overlooking the lovely garden and all her visitors are welcomed.
Adamscourt is making my aunt's final years as comfortable as possible.

Since my mother became a resident at Adamscourt earlier this year, I have been completely pleased and impressed with all aspects of the care provided for her.
All the staff are brilliant completely professional, welcoming, extremely caring and happy to help at all times. The levels of communication
are faultless as well, the home is always quick to let me know of any incidents that invariably happen.
My mother's room is always spotlessly clean and this is reflected throughout the home There are varied activities available on a daily basis which I know my mother enjoys at the time.
I could not recommend highly enough Adamscourt to anyone thinking about having a relative as a resident there.

I chose Adamscourt as it is a small care home with only 22 residents. My mother was a resident for three years and the homely atmosphere suited her. There was a consistency of staff throughout her stay, which was reassuring for her and meant all staff knew her and how to respond to her. The staff were
always cheerful and helpful and my mother was always well dressed and presented. Pre-Covid, there were regular minibus outings, which my mother enjoyed. During Covid, they protected residents well and still maintained activities for residents. I cannot fault the care home or staff.

It has been a very difficult year, having to accept Mum is no longer the person she was, unable to look after herself and remember the simplest of instructions. Thanks to the amazing team at Adamscourt Care Home, however, I can rest in the knowledge Mum is being well cared for, well fed (all food seems
to be cooked on the premises) and well entertained with constant activities. Whilst Mum and I are no longer able to do the things we used to, we are able to make new memories with the help of the team. For this, I am very grateful - Mum is a very precious lady.

Due to coronavirus, not allowed inside building but I'm sure it's fine! Sorry not able to mark all boxes.
All staff and management are not only caring to patients, visitors also. Just like one 'happy family'. Hope I don't but should I need care in the future would be happy to stay at Adamscourt.

I have been very disappointed in this care home. The lack of feedback and communication, on important matters have been vague and unprofessional especially from the manager. Not enough English speaking carers and several care failings and neglect. I have no faith or trust in this care home and if you
did use it for your parents, you need to be able to be very physically involved. I am glad that my mother is finally moving out.

Reply from Beverly Harris, Area Manager at Adamscourt

Sorry we have upset you by giving your wonderful Mum notice to leave our care home; solely down to your unreasonable behaviour. Sad situation for Mum, moving 4 times prior; no fault of her own. She remains happy, settled, and is being cared for excellently by our carers. The manager tried to work with you and communicate effectively over a year. 70% of staff are English others level 6 or above. You used the word neglect and care failings which we find particularly upsetting and untrue. Every complaint you made to the home, SSrvs, CQC, Deprivation of Liberty Dept, have all been investigated by the relevant authority and not upheld. We have worked in an open and transparent way with every dept and have evidence from all of them that we have not in any way neglected Mum and are meeting her care needs, over and above expectations. We hope, now other agencies are involved in finding her a new home, she be allowed to settle and thrive, as she has with us and can live the remainder of her life in one home, peacefully.

Since Grandma arrived at Adamscourt she has settled really well and the care she has received has been fantastic. The staff have been professional, friendly, and helpful, and have made us feel very welcome. They have kept us informed with how Grandma is, which has been very reassuring and much appreciated
during the coronavirus times. lovely facilities including a nice garden and seating area. Excellent choice of food and a variety of activities which Grandma enjoys. Highly recommended. Thank you.

I have been very impressed with the care and support my mother has received since she arrived at Adamscourt. Every member of staff we have met has been so kind and welcoming; nothing is too much trouble. Mum is very happy here and receives excellent care; is very complimentary about the food and has
a lovely, clean comfortable room. It is hugely reassuring to know she is happy, safe and well looked after, particularly in these difficult times. Thank you.

It was a great pleasure to be cared for nothing was too much trouble.
Care 24/7 general help 12/10.
Excellent attitude to care and attention and my needs. I was much fitter and happy after my stay with them. The food was wonderful. They dealt with not just a broken body and ankle but the need for

My mother has been in Adamscourt for about 2 years and although I live a long distance from her I am very pleased with the care she receives. She seems happy, well presented and the food is excellent. The doctor has been called when necessary and the staff have been very pleasant and helpful. The home
is well kept; clean, and no bad smells. I don't believe they could do anymore. As a final note, there is also a list of activities to stimulate during the week, which is very reassuring.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.579)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.579) out of 10 for Adamscourt is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.779 for Adamscourt is calculated as follows: ( (78 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.779

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Adamscourt is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Manager

My name is Vanessa, I Have two grown-up children.
I have worked in care since I left school, my first job was in the TB hospital in Bournemouth. This was a very challenging role, but I gained a lot of experience and it armed me with the training and resilience I needed to further my career. I then moved to Boscombe Hospital which was a different kind of care. This hospital closed and the new Bournemouth General Hospital was built I moved there for a while, and I then decided to take some time out and dedicate some time to my family. I started to miss working in care, I applied for the role of care assistant at Adamscourt and started in 2012 and gained a lot of experience and was promoted to senior, then Deputy manager and then in 2019 I was given the opportunity to become the home manager this has been an exciting and demanding challenge and I continue to learn each day. I am proud of myself for my achievements and the home has grown from strength to strength.

I have achieved my level 5 in care management and continue to attend courses which relate to care.

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family and our dogs. I also like reading and listening to music.

We are looking after and creating a homely, loving atmosphere, for all our residents and everyone involved with us.

I have been involved in the care industry for more than 20 years, across three different countries and over the years, I have experienced a very positive evolution in how care is being provided and planned for vulnerable individuals on a person-centred basis.

I am very passionate about providing person-centred care, especially for those living with Dementia and empowering our residents with all aspects of their lives.
