The acre provide is excellent. The staff are warm, kind, very lovely. My mother has been in St Cecilia with Alzheimer's disease for 10 years. The support we have received from staff is exceptional and the love for my mother is outstanding. My mother has had 24 hour continuing care for the past 8/9 years
with all her abilities gone. The staff have made our mums life possible.

When we were told by the Mental Health team that Mum had to move into care ASAP (January 2015) it was a big worry, but we were so fortunate that a place was available at St Cecilias and she moved in within a few days and we soon realised that this was just the right place for her. It did not seem as
plush and fancy as the "new" style homes, but it had a homely feel and as soon as we realised what a wonderful team work there and saw how well the residents were cared for it was indeed the right decision!
Mum settled in quite quickly and the years of worry for us have melted into the past. I would recommend St Cecilia's to anyone that requires dementia care and will do so without hesitation!

My wife had to be moved urgently from a care home because she was at risk of harm and very upset. Within a few days of experiencing the love and care at St Cecilia she was feeling much happier and we the relatives were able to leave her after visit knowing she was being cared for so well. We were also
made welcome at every visit, no matter what time. We feel deeply inundated to the manager and his staff.

Our dad has been in St Cecilia since 2011 having been transferred from a previous dreadful care home. The difference with St Cecilia was a world apart. The carers ARE carers. Would highly recommend. We would not wish for our dad to be any else.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.486)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.486) out of 10 for St Cecilia is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.886 for St Cecilia is calculated as follows: ( (65 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.886

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Cecilia is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 15 registered maximum number of service users is 3, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
