The Laurels and Pine Lodge in Poole is a delightful character residence with a cosy, homely atmosphere. Originally known in the local area as ‘Stone Farm’, the cottages have been respectfully extended and lovingly restored to provide a safe, appealing and comfortable home. They can confidently say that The Laurels and Pine Lodge is one of the most warm-hearted residential care homes in Poole.

The fully trained, compassionate and caring team has created an exceptional residential care home where they ensure residents are not only safe and well cared for, but are also happy and content.

The Laurels and Pine Lodge is well presented with secluded, easy access gardens and a spacious front-facing patio, where residents can enjoy get-togethers or simply watch the world go by. Comprising 54 en-suite bedrooms, 32 of which are situated in The Laurels, with a further 22 in Pine Lodge (their specialist dementia care unit), each bedroom is beautifully decorated, fully furnished and equipped with a flat-screen digital TV, telephone point and a 24-hour call bell. In addition, they offer ample communal spaces so residents are free to enjoy both companionship and privacy.

The home also benefits from two conservatories, a dining room to enjoy the all inclusive homemade meals, access to video calling to stay in touch with friends and family and a fully inclusive laundry service.

Due to the virus, we have been unable to actually see Mum in person for around 10-11 weeks now. But thanks to the wonderful staff, we can Skype, or speak to Mum on the phone anytime, and they kindly post any activities they do on Facebook, so we can see photos as well. Who knows how long this will go
on for, but we do know Mum is as safe as she can be and well looked after by such lovely caring carers. We just hope we can visit again soon until then thank you to all the staff and keep safe.

I can't express enough, how grateful I and all the family are, that we chose The Laurels for our Aunty when she needed to go into care. It's such a blessing to know she is cared for by each and every member of staff, in such a friendly happy atmosphere. She has a lovely homely room, which they encouraged
her right from the start, to give it her personal touch to make it her home. She can spend time there when she wants to relax with her radio, but she can choose to join others in the lounges which she enjoys. There are many social events too aimed at bringing a smile with music from the past. Family and friends are also welcomed and we in turn, have had a lovely time. She so enjoys the food they serve, and all her medical and mobility needs are met. Thank you. Sadly we are now in a difficult time with Covoid19 but we are so pleased she is in the right place. Being cared for by a bright and friendly team, and knowing she is safe and happy. A big thank you to you all.

My aunt was only in The Laurels for 6 days, after a trying time in hospital. All the staff treated her with dignity, patience (they needed it!) and caring. She ended her days being safe and supported 24/7. I cannot praise the management and staff enough for their care and consideration to my Aunt and
myself.

The Pines was initially recommended by social services. My wife entered into respite care periods after a short stay in hospital. I was impressed by the welcome and atmosphere. It is always warm and 'pleasant smelling'. The staff do an excellent job despite the many demands on their efforts. My wife
quickly settled in and was made very welcome. Her room is kept at a high standard, as is her personal hygiene. I'm very glad my wife is at The Pines, I know she's happy and well looked after.

Travelling up from Cornwall for a funeral at Southampton, we made a spontaneous visit to see my 94-year-old aunt en route as we had the time.
It was the first opportunity we have had to visit since she has been in care and we were so pleased to see her so happy, clean and tidy.
Staff welcomed us and
immediately offered tea which was delivered on a tray with teapot, cups and saucers in a light and airy side room.
All too quickly, we had to be on our way although, we had been left in peace and quiet for as long as we wanted.
Accompanying my aunt back to their dayroom, everything was clean and in good condition without the odours that can often linger in homes for the elderly.
A happy day.

Having had a bad experience with my mother, who suffered from Alzheimer's and was placed in a care home that was meant to meet her needs in Cornwall, it was a dreadful place and ten years on it still haunts me.
Today, seeing and visiting The Laurels and Pine Lodge Care Home, it was superb in every
way for those being cared for and for the relatives visiting for the first time. It has given me great comfort to know that there are places like yours.

My mother has been here in Pine Lodge for 2 years now,m she has been looked after in a safe environment. Only negative thing I have is outside help, such as haircut and chiropody is too expensive. The care staff are excellent and very helpful.

My mother became a resident at The Laurels at the age of 92, with middle stage Alzheimers, but fairly mobile and in good physical health for her age. She had been in other care homes but never settled in them. It was the care, support and love of The Laurels carers that allowed her to settle at last.
She slowly deteriorated in her health but the care has been outstanding and, as a family, we have been comforted by knowing how much she has been embraced as someone special - as they do all their residents. It is, without doubt, the best place she could have been in her final years.

Visit mum once a month and always pleased with the welcome from the staff. Really nice for mum when they have entertainment and she seems to enjoy that, especially the singing. Stay with her when she has her meals and I am always impressed with how nice the food looks. Mum usually eats well.

All staff very attentive but sometimes no one around when needed. Enjoyed helping in the gardens and various DIY activities. Food very good.

I viewed this care home on behalf of my dad. My first impression was how friendly the staff were and what a homely atmosphere it had. The home gave him a new lease of life for the 14 months he was a resident. Although he had dementia and not sure of his surroundings I felt confident he enjoyed everything
that was provided for him. On visiting him I felt very welcome and always enjoyed a cup of tea and friendly chats with both staff and other residents. Dad really enjoyed his days out which included a boat trip around the harbour, bowling, dementia cafe and also the visits to the home from old-time sing-alongs to llamas and visits from the children of local schools. I would highly recommend this lovely care home.

As Home Manager at The Laurels and Pine Lodge Residential Home, I am proud of the journey I have taken, and I feel deeply privileged to work with such a dedicated team and wonderful residents.


I began my career here as a carer and over the years, through determination and a passion for the care industry, I was fortunate enough to progress through the roles from Senior Carer all the way to Home Manager.


I love what I do and feel privileged to make a difference in our residents' lives. Person-centred care is central to my approach, ensuring every resident is treated with respect, compassion, and dignity. It's not just about providing care; it's about building meaningful relationships and ensuring that each resident feels like a valued part of our family here at The Laurels and Pine Lodge.


I am grateful for the opportunity to lead a team of dedicated professionals and to continue providing the highest standard of care for our residents. Every day is a chance to learn, grow, and make a positive impact, which makes this job so special to me.

I have worked at The Laurels and Pine Lodge for ten years now, starting my career with Hartford Care back in 2013 as a Care Assistant, becoming a Senior Care Assistant in 2017 and now being promoted to Deputy Manager.


I love working here, we have a fabulous, supportive team at The Laurels and Pine Lodge, and I love being able to give the residents and their families the best care possible and uphold the company values of care, comfort and companionship.
