The Knoll Care Home is a stunning partially Grade II listed Georgian building located in the charming village of Tuffley in Gloucester with scenic views overlooking the Malvern Hills and easy access from the M5 motorway.

The Knoll Care Home offers quality personalised residential & dementia care for up to 29 residents in a pleasant countryside environment. The friendly and professional care team pride themselves in providing expert care and a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for both residents and their families. All team members are experienced in dementia care and they provide care in a person-centered way to make residents feel comfortable and included.

Facilities include a large communal lounge and dining room area that provides residents with the ideal environment to enjoy a wide range of activities, create friendships and interact with others. There is also a sun lounge area where residents can relax with their families. The Knoll Care Home has 24 fully furnished and spacious single bedrooms as well as 2 shared bedrooms that are perfect for married couples.

The passionate and dedicated care team work closely alongside residents and their families to provide quality care that is based on each resident’s specific needs. Friends and families are always welcome to visit and can even join their loved ones at meal times.

With strong links to the local community, there is always lots to do. From light exercise classes to weekly visits from local churches, the Activities Coordinator provides a large variety of daily activities that incorporate residents interests and wishes.

I am pleased with the way my cousin is treated by all the staff. The home is spotlessly clean and the food is first-class for elderly people with plenty of choice. The manager treats all visitors as friends - he is ideal for his job. Even the handyman takes an interest in all the residents.

My husband and I took my sister to The Knoll Care Home on Sunday 12th December 2021. This was necessitated by the fact that her husband, her carer, was in hospital at the time. I have been delighted by the excellent care my sister received there up until when she sadly died there yesterday 20th July
2022. She even managed to celebrate her 90th birthday in May 2022 and we had a little tea party to mark the occasion although, sadly, due to her illness with Alzheimer's, she was completely unaware of this herself. The manager and staff of The Knoll are excellent and always gave me updates on her condition when I rang them.

Excellent care and service in a friendly and homely atmosphere. Whilst choosing residential care for a relative is often a challenging decision; The Knoll handled the transition extremely well, creating a welcoming and familiar atmosphere that not only met his physical needs but created an environment
which support the transition from home. The room is light and airy and provides a wonderful countryside view, which gives hours of enjoyment. Food is varied, and excellent entertainment is regular and stimulating. Overall, a five-star experience.

I have found the staff I have come into contact with to be particularly caring. My mum is enjoying her staff and feels cared for. Mum has a lovely, sunny room with a great view that she appreciates. She's started to make friends and chat with other residents a little more now than when she first arrived.
She's looking forward to doing activities during the day once they commence and looking forward to having more visitors and go out more now the Covid restrictions are starting to be lifted.

My family and I were nervous about letting Dad go to a care home but we had no choice in the end. The staff were always kind and friendly. I used to phone day and night to see how Dad was doing. The staff were always happy to update me, despite being busy. Communication was great. The staff always updated
me on Dad's health and did everything to make his stay at The Knoll more comfortable, involving various outside agencies, at times. The manager was very hands-on which I thought was excellent. The staff treated my dad with great care and compassion. The manager always asked after Mum too, as the separation from Dad, after 55 years of marriage, was hard at times. Excellent overall care.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care my nan receives. She is very happy, and well looked after! Even in covid times, the care home maintains the resident's safety, but also, ensuring they can keep visits going by creating a safe pod for us to use while visiting and following all Government guidelines.
Nowhere is good as being at home, but this comes a very close 2nd.
I have no worries at all with my nan being at The Knoll and feel very reassured she’s in the best place every time I visit.

My friend was very worried about going into a care home, but knew she was unable to live alone. When we arrived, she received a very warm welcome and was soon put at ease, difficult with Covid 19 in place! I mentioned it was her birthday in a few days time, but they had already realised this and had
arranged a tea and cake. She loved it. Since then, she has settled very well and praises the staff, the lovely meals and amazing cakes. They are all so kind and caring.

My maintenance man, catering staff, domestic staff, care staff, including myself, enjoy looking after our service users in person-centred care. All of us are involved in care and activities. It is our passion to care for our service users in a person-centred way to make them feel at home. We do not think we look after 'clients', but our family members. Our parents were admitted to The Knoll for respite care in mid-August and will now be staying there long term. Obviously, we have not been able to go into the property but the staff have been really helpful with organising visits and phone calls. Our parents seem happy and settled. Both report that
the food is good and Mum enjoys the bingo. We have been particularly impressed with the team's interactions with us. They are very proactive in keeping us up to date with our parents' health issues and general well-being.

We treat our residents with respect and dignity, We care about our residents and always go the extra mile. We have two chefs who are very good and make fresh food every day. Without the management, including head office, all these good things do not happen. Our management always visit and give instructions and advice from day to day. The home manager is always supporting the staff and encourages the staff to go that extra mile when it comes to residents' care in a person-centred way. The home manager always monitors the residents' best interest and wellbeing and tries to comfort residents in the best possible way. We do have all the facilities that are needed in a care home. All staff including care, management, catering, domestic and maintenance are involved in activities.

My sister-in-law moved into The Knoll early last month. She was in a very frail condition, having been in and out of hospital for almost six months. The care she has received has been exemplary. The bed sores she acquired in hospital are healing. She is putting on weight, thanks to the excellent food,
which she is delighted with. The grounds are beautiful, with rabbits and deer visiting.
Altogether an excellent nursing home. I can thoroughly recommend it.

Thank you for the nice comments about The Knoll. You may not aware that we do lots of activities in this pandemic time and encourage all residents to attend. Your mother likes to join Bingo every Thursday, sing-along and chairobics (exercise while sitting on the chair). Due to her anxiety, she does not attend all activities but she is having regular one-to-one activities which help to reassure and comfort her. It is unfortunate that families are not allowed to come inside the home to see what activities we are doing. But I assure you we are regularly doing different activities at The Knoll. I also would like to mention that we do have all facilities at the Knoll to provide care and support to our service users.

My Aunt has been a resident for some time. I am happy knowing that she is content and very well cared for. She has a beautiful room with stunning views which she enjoys. My Aunt enjoys a varied menu whilst sharing the company of other residents she has formed a friendship with. Recently she became very
unwell and the staff took immediate action to ensure her safety and well-being, she was admitted to hospital for treatment, The Knoll checked on her by phone regularly. I have to say the staff are exceptional in the way they are towards the residents, their commitment during this difficult time is simply amazing. I feel I must single out one in particular who has always given me feedback on my Aunt when I am visiting without me having to ask. This is my personal opinion based on my own experience and comments from my Aunt. Thank you, everyone, for being so caring.

Every one of the staff and management at The Knoll Care Home was exceptionally kind and attentive to my Mum when she was there for 3 weeks of respite care after a bad fall at home. She was very happy there, very comfortable and her every need was catered for, the whole family is grateful to them all.

Tim joined the team at The Knoll 16 years ago and is the homes maintenance operative and so much more.


Always busy keeping things at the home ‘ship-shape’ Tim goes above and beyond to make sure our residents are comfortable and content.


His daily deliveries of sweets and chocolate to both residents and colleagues are gratefully and enthusiastically received.


Tim is loved by all, his daily chats with residents brighten their days and when Tim does have a day off he is missed, a quote from a lovely lady resident with us “I don’t enjoy my weekends as much as I do my weekdays as I miss my daily chats with Tim”.
