Northfield House is a specialist dementia Care Home with a welcoming, home-from-home atmosphere in a traditional style.

The home offers permanent 24-hour care, specialising in caring for older people afflicted by various forms of dementia, in addition to offering respite or short-term care if needed.

The high-quality accommodation is clean & comfortable, providing every amenity to meet the needs of 25 elderly people. It has a family atmosphere, ensuring that the health & well-being of the residents always comes first, whilst receiving the finest care possible.

Northfield House is staffed by a dedicated, professional & well trained team of managers & care workers. Their ongoing training program ensures that staff have a comprehensive understanding of all required areas to provide for the needs of residents. They ensure the home is run to the highest standards, adhering to the latest rules & regulations, whilst meeting their mission statement: “To provide care with compassion and commitment”.

From the time I phoned to enquire about a place for my husband I was made to feel that the care of my husband mattered. This was reinforced when my husband arrived from hospital having suffered neglect, and he was made to feel wanted and cared for. This has continued by both the management team and
all the staff, you feel listened to and my husband cared for.

My mum has been there since October, she quickly settled in and every member of staff made her feel very welcome.
Both girls have done so much to make my mum comfortable and looked after.
I can't recommend Northfield House enough.

My mother has had seven days respite at Northfield and I can only say how caring and welcoming they were. Having been in nursing for many many years and now a full-time carer for my mother with Alzheimer's I was very pleased with the level of care and support she was given. The atmosphere was friendly,
and welcoming,as well as giving me a break which I so desperately needed, will be very happy to send her there again next time knowing that she will be well looked after. Again thank you all staff at Northfield House for a good experience, great care quality and atmosphere, and a lovely room.

Thank you for the professional care given to my mother aged 95 who died on the 1st of June 2024. We were fully able to be with her in the comfort of her room in her care home. She was given respect, dignity and the full attention of well-qualified staff members throughout this experience. As a family,
we were welcomed to be with Mother for 24 hours through day and night until she passed away and then she was taken out with respect and dignity.

Northfield has an amazing team who are all dedicated to looking after their residents like their own family.
They provide lots of entertainment and activities for all to enjoy.

In a few words - can’t fault anything, brilliant home.
It’s like home from home you can’t get anything better than this, all employees are a credit to all residents they are always doing something and always go the extra mile to make all happy. The assistant manager has always been helpful and deals
with issues my mum does have, what a credit she is to this horrible disease.

Staff very friendly and good. Once again, communication could be improved with fortnightly updates. Activities are good, but might be nice to take them out to socialise.

My uncle has been a resident for now five years I think and with not being able to get there very often I know he is in safe hands with the staff there. I have never had a problem when I visit and my uncle is always happy and well looked after. I am always informed of what’s going on regards to my uncle
via emails. The staff were amazing during the Covid crisis so thank you for that!

My mum recently spent 2 months at Northfield House prior to moving Counties to live closer to me. I cannot thank enough the superb staff team who made Mum feel so welcome and gave her so much love and gentle care. Mum's well-being was a priority and, seeing how she experienced genuine kindness, gentle
protection and loving supervision, I was reassured and happy to leave her in their expert care. Living some distance away, I felt fully supported and informed by the management of every necessary detail of Mum's life there. As well as the wonderful care of her physical health, the importance of keeping Mum mentally stimulated was equally focussed on. From nail varnishing to assisted dancing, from St George's Day banners to singing along with the guitarist, and from gentle exercises to a Coronation party, life at Northfield was full of love, care, fun and enjoyment. Heartfelt thanks to each and every one of your amazing staff.

The staff were excellent. Dad was well looked after. Although the activities suffered after the loss of the activities coordinator, the staff do the best they can.

I have only been able to visit in screened off conservatory due to covid. Have been to visit a few times but not been able to see mum's room but she seems very happy. Staff are always friendly and helpful. When mum first went she was in isolation for two weeks and they found out she like watching birds
so they let her have the budgerigar in her room which was a lovely touch.

Northfield House has been my mum's home for the last year and I can honestly say that I am so pleased and grateful for all the care and love she has received from all the staff. This home is not a 'for profit' business, it is a warm, friendly, compassionate home with family at its soul. Mum has been
in the care system for 8 years and I so wish she had come to Northfields from the start. It was because her old nursing home was closing that she came here and I am so glad she did. Nothing is too much bother for the lovely staff and they will go over and beyond to be helpful. The home has worked so hard to keep the residents safe during covid, never wavering away from their safety measures and sticking to their guns, good on them. When I visit Mum I have to wear all the PPE that is provided and rightly so. Even if you have had your jab you can still carry it. My mum is so happy and stress free, which she wasn't at her last place, that I can leave her knowing she is in the best hands ever.

Mum was warmly welcomed to Northfield when home care became unsustainable. She settled very quickly and has been very well cared for by the Manager and her team. Despite the difficulties of the present situation, they have all been cheerful and caring throughout her time with them. We have been unable
to visit inside, but during window visits, Mum has always been content and well looked after and appears to have a good relationship with her carers. Mum's dietary needs have been catered for, and she appears to enjoy her food. Thank you all for your kindness; keep up the good work!

My mum has been a resident with you for just over a year and always seems very happy when we are able to see her.
I think we fell upon a right gem when we found Northfield House, and I can't compliment the carers/staff enough for all their hard work and the love they show to each and every resident.

I find the staff at Northfield House very pleasant, they are so helpful to both my mother-in-law and our family, they keep us informed and have never not followed through on any request we may ask. My mother-in-law seems very happy here, it's lovely to see her smile and give staff a hug, they never
rush her, the hairdresser does her hair lovely. Something Mum always loved doing a trip to the hairdresser.

Sue’s journey in care originally started in the 1970s when she worked for several years as a Care Assistant for the elderly. Sue then focused on raising her young family until returning to the care industry in 2002 when she and her late husband Richard purchased their first care home, Quarry Mount, in Swindon.


Their vision for compassionate care expanded in 2009 with the acquisition of a sister home, Northfield House in Stroud. At the heart of Sue’s approach is the belief that both residents and staff should be treated as part of an extended family. Keeley's journey at Northfield House began in October 2022 as Assistant Manager, quickly progressing to her current leadership role as Manager.


With a diverse background spanning 12 years in the care sector, Keeley has nurtured individuals from newborns to centenarians, both in community settings and care homes. This breadth of experience has honed her ability to provide personalised care for residents with varying needs, including those living with dementia.


Keeley’s expertise extends beyond traditional care environments. Her time at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH) and Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH) in the ophthalmology department enriched her skill set, where she assisted with minor operations and gained valuable theatre experience.


At the heart of Keeley’s approach is a steadfast commitment to ensuring that every resident feels valued, loved, and receives the highest standard of care. Kaylee

Kaylee Saunders

Job Title: Assistant Manager

Kaylee originally began her career in care at Northfield House nine years ago, where she first discovered her passion for supporting others. After a break to raise her young family, she returned to the field, joining a large 45-bed nursing home. Whilst there, she gained valuable experience completing several essential training courses, including First Aid, End of Life Care, and Manual Handling.


Following another break in care to help look after her ailing grandfather until his passing, Kaylee then rejoined Northfield House, where she showed a natural aptitude for caregiving and strong leadership skills which quickly became evident, advancing her to the role of Senior Care Lead while pursuing her NVQ Level 3 qualification, which she completed with distinction.


Recently, Kaylee was promoted to Assistant Manager, reflecting her commitment and expertise in the care sector. Kaylee’s journey is a testament to her dedication and the impact of compassionate care on both residents and staff alike.
