Watermoor House offers residential and respite care in a warm and welcoming home, set in a quiet leafy area of Cirencester.

A truly dedicated team provide friendly and tailored 24-hour care for residents in a comfortable environment where residents are encouraged to maintain their independence and continue to make decisions about how they wish to live their lives.

Daily activities and entertainment for residents are many and varied and include regular outings to local attractions. The en-suite rooms are attractively decorated and the home prides itself on serving traditional home-cooked food.

When I was looking for a care home in Cirencester I nearly didn't look at Watermoor House, I am so pleased I did! From the very first visit, I liked the 'feel' of the home. Everyone was very friendly even though I came at busy times such as lunch and the medicines round.
I chose this care home as
they cater for End Of Life. Immediately my Grandmother was made to feel welcome and encouraged to engage with other residents downstairs. From the cleaners, receptionists, carers, catering and office staff, handyman and entertainment staff, I can't thank them enough!!

The home provides excellent care in a warm and welcoming environment. The staff are friendly, caring and helpful. The food is excellent and the rooms are warm and clean. There are many activities arranged for the residents and both trips out and visits in are provided.

My aunt lived at Watermoor until she died nearly two years ago. She was so happy there. When my mother had a bad fall recently and needed some respite care, Watermoor was the only place we'd consider. Over and above the usual things that one looks for in a care home, we met a high number of staff
who remembered my aunt, thus demonstrating continuity of staff and a seemingly low staff turnover - both very important when trying to gauge staff morale. We also noticed residents moving around the home going about their daily routines and it's good to see them being encouraged to remain mobile if they can. I worked in a care home in the catering department for twenty years so have an insight into the trials and tribulations of this type of work, but it's my opinion that Watermoor stands alone in its excellence. I can't fault the way we were received in our hour of need! We're hoping the respite care will become permanent - we're working on it! Thank you one and all, you're amazing.

My mother moved to Watermoor House almost seven years ago. She passed away in July 2017. During that time, both she and I were impressed by the warmth and dedication of the staff.


With the support from managers and the whole team, my mother was able to spend her final days in her own lovely room.

Many of the staff went above and beyond to ensure that she was as comfortable as possible. Our family felt very well supported by all as well.

My mother moved from a care home in Suffolk to Watermoor House ten months ago and has settled really well. Her mobility and mental capacity has improved since she has been in Watermoor House. The staff are all very friendly and caring and Mum is dealt with in a very dignified manner. She is encouraged
to join in with the many varied entertainments and activities and has had several trips out for lunch, which she really enjoys.

I have been here 3 weeks and have decided to stay. I have a lovely large room and am allowed to have some of my own furniture pictures etc.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There are things in the lounge like bingo, choir, crosswords, scrabble and many other things like outings to a cafe
and a picnic on a barge on a canal and other outings. Good fresh food and a lift to the different floor levels.

My mother moved here initially for two weeks respite care but very quickly decided she wanted to stay. The staff are kind and caring but residents are encouraged to be as independent as they are able to be. There is an excellent range of activities and trips to choose from and she is able to have some
of her own furniture items.

We have taken our sister to Watermoor House who really loves the home. The staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The old house and grounds are beautifully kept. If we take her out, they get her ready for us.

The home is very clean, comfortable and well decorated. The staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble. I am very happy that my aunt is living here and know that she is well looked after.

I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. They look after mother very well although she can be trying at times. The room is very good, with an outlook onto St. Michaels Field. The rooms are kept clean. The laundry service girls are very good. The entertainment lady is always doing things
for and with the residents. Food is plentiful, if not always to her liking.

My mother has spent the last four years at this care home and has loved it there. Staff and facilities are excellent. The care and attention she received was always top class and appreciated. She recently passed away and the care was brilliant. The night staff were extremely professional and supportive
of both my wife and I at the time of her passing. The home manager and her staff could not do enough to help her and us.

I have lived in the house both the main house and the JM Wing for nine years. I now can't think of any other home i could bear to move to. It is now my family home. The care is the very best you could have, the carers are now my family and i love them dearly. There are up's and downs with likes and
dislikes about the food and menus but i wouldn't leave unless they kick me out!! Thank you for caring.

I am an experienced Home Manager, having worked my way up from care assistant through to management. Gaining experience at every level has helped me to understand how a care home needs to operate in order to meet our residents' needs and ensure that they feel comfortable in their homes.


I joined Watermoor House in September 2024 and am looking forward to developing the home further from its strong foundations. This beautiful care home has so much to offer - with its lovely setting, caring staff, and wide range of activities for residents - and I am excited to be able to bring my skills and expertise to the organisation.
