Since my partner and I decided her father was not receiving adequate care at a previous care home, we decided to try Beaufort House due to local word-of-mouth recommendations and a coincidental mail shot from Agincare.
We are so lucky to have found this absolute gem of a care home that treats my partner's
father with enormous respect and always encourages him to join in with the activities. He has mild dementia and is not always keen to leave the safety of his room, but when he does do so, he is noted as the life and soul of the party. Contrast this with his last care home where he was left in his room 24/7 with little or no interaction with others as well as eating all his (unappetising) meals in his room. Beaufort House has a lovely communal dining area where residents are encouraged to sit with each other to share their meals. There are several rooms to relax in each with its own facilities such as TV or craft tables.

My mother is a relatively new resident at Beaufort House and was admitted just prior to the transfer of the ownership of the home to Agincare. We are delighted with the care she receives from the dedicated team at the home. The environment is warm, caring, welcoming and cheerful due to the friendly
and outgoing attitude of the staff who are conscientious, dedicated and focused on creating an enjoyable lifestyle. The emphasis is on ensuring that all residents receive the best of care and have fun on a daily basis, with emphasis on creating a sense of cohesion as part of the group and encouragement to participate in all aspects from dining together and living as part of an extended "family - whilst recognising freedom of choice and personal space. The activities provided are varied and personalised for everyone and take place in this happy environment. The building itself is warm and comfortable and the new owners recognise areas that could be improved on when required, due to occupants changing needs.

The staff were very kind and supportive when my mother was on end-of-life care. They were very professional and caring through what was a difficult time. Prior to that, last week, the staff always seemed kind and caring towards the residents.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 1.500 for Beaufort Park Retirement Village is calculated as follows: ( (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 1.5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 0 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beaufort Park Retirement Village is based on 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) =

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 39 registered maximum number of service users is 7.8. 0 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.8 = 0

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
