As specialists in providing residential care, Beechwood provides a tailored, luxury experience to those needing care and support, but who also want to retain their independence and enjoy activities and the social aspects of life.

As a smaller, boutique home, staff have time to tend to the little things and get to know each resident as an individual. Their residential care specialism means residents are slightly more able and active than in nursing homes, providing a sense of community and enjoyment to all residents that wish to partake. At the same time, Beechwood aims to be a 'forever home' for residents, providing support to those who have joined and whose needs have increased over time.

Set in large, pleasant gardens, all rooms are ground level, en-suites that provides independence and high quality care to all residents.

Two sitting rooms and two conservatories allow residents to enjoy either a quiet period of reflection, to chat with their friends in the home, meet visitors or to participate in the wide range of activities on offer.

Staff treat residents as they would want their own mother or father to be treated. Socialising is especially important and residents are encouraged to join in on the daily activities, eat well, sleep well and make new friends. The home is very focused on helping its residents to recapture that sparkle for life. The staff too have been with the home for quite a while and take pride in not just being a care home but an extended family for all residents.

Longer-term residential care and also day-care are available. In day-care, individuals may choose to join the home during the day but go back to their own home during the night. Shorter visits are also available (for example coming for a couple of hours to join for a cup of tea and a bath) and joining in activities with the home's friendly little family.

We contacted Beechwood House as mum was struggling following a bad fall. They took mum in for some respite straight away so that we could arrange things at home. I really can't speak highly enough of the whole team. The quality of care and support we have received has been faultless. All the staff
are kind, caring and supportive and really create a lovely friendly atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend Beechwood House to anyone looking for a care home for their elderly relative.

I chose Beechwood House Care Home for my nan after a recommendation from a friend whose mum had spent her last years there. I liked the atmosphere immediately and I knew it was the home-from-home she needed. The added bonus was that it's only up the road from most of her family. The manager was brilliant,
helping with the entry process and even when Nan had been living there for a while she was always happy to instantly reply with answers to my queries. Nan has settled in well due to the friendly staff and has made new friends and when we visit she is happy. We are encouraged to visit whenever we'd like and have also been invited to the activity afternoons organised by their lovely activities coordinator. I feel my nan is very lucky to have such a lovely home now.

Thank you for making the admission of my sister for a respite stay and possibly a longer stay at Beechwood such an easy and stress free process.
With your encouragement, she has settled well and finds the staff friendly and helpful in all her needs.
She loves her room but can also walk to the lounge
to enjoy the company of other residents, watch the world go by out of the south facing windows or join in the various activities
The nutritious meals in company and many cups of tea are very welcome and even a regular late night sandwich shows the individual care that Beechwood House supplies to their residents. Care at its best!

I have been to Beechwood a few times to visit a friend who has been a resident for a few years. Staff have always been lovely and welcoming and they are on hand to help with anything. On one occasion I have been there through lunchtime and the food smells divine and my friend says the food tastes amazing
and my friend seems to enjoy the food. My friend has said she feels safe and staff treat her with dignity everyday which is reassuring to hear.

My mother only spent a very short time at Beechwood. Sadly her health declined very quickly, but during that time, all the staff were very good with her. We could visit anytime.

My Mum has been at Beechwood House now since the beginning of December 2022 after several falls and 6
months in and out of the hospital due to her fracturing her back in 2 places and then a fractured wrist. We
were all very apprehensive at the thought of Mum going into a residential care home as it
was something that none of us wanted for her. But she was proving that living on her own was now not an option for her. After having a visit/tour of Beechwood before Mum was admitted we found all the staff very friendly and also there was a very happy atmosphere. We were pleasantly surprised and thought that this would be suitable for Mum as this now gives her the 24-hour care that she now needs to give her the quality of life that she now has and it has given all of us the peace of mind to know that she is now being well looked after. Mum is being treated and looked after, 5* thank you all very much for your care and support.

As a family, we had to make difficult decisions for our mum.
I was encouraged when looking for a home for mum that the Website showed pleasant bedrooms, lounges and a beautiful garden with a quiet area my mum and others, which I know she would enjoy in the summer months
I feel extremely lucky to be
able to find this home for mum and so very glad she is settling in and making friends, with the homes high standards, transparency and inclusiveness being paramount.
Mum loves being busy and enjoys the arts group and activities, and has even settled enough to go out for a walk with the staff.

My mother became a resident at Beechwood during extremely difficult times arriving there a week before the first lockdown in March 2020. My brother, sister in law and myself had a wonderful visit with the manager and a few days later mum arrived. How can I explain her nearly first year for us and particularly
myself? It was difficult not having her with us but for her, she settled in well albeit after a fall just before Christmas when she broke her hip and has since recovered well with gentle encouragement from the staff and a talking to from me she is up and tentatively walking with her frame. My mum is 93 and certainly hasn’t given up on life with the help of Beechwood but I have found it difficult not visiting very much but I’m happy that she’s happy and that visiting regularly without boundaries will become a norm sometime this year and that’s all I ask. For me, Beechwood have kept me in the loop knowing how much I miss her and I am grateful for that and they love my mum.

I could not have chosen a better home for my mother.
I live a short distance from the home and have passed it regularly over the past 20 years and having visited it last month as a possible home for my mother who was unable to stay in her cottage near Blandford, I was immediately impressed with
the homely atmosphere, the excellent quality of the rooms and the friendly staff. The manager was very reassuring and obviously experienced in dealing with the problems encountered by the elderly and their relatives due to the stress that can be caused by a change of environment after many years of living a certain lifestyle.

The care our relative has received since she chose to move to Beechwood; has been exemplary. We are seeing a great improvement in her health and wellbeing. She is eating well, making friends and enjoying her life. The home is absolutely lovely, all of the staff are so caring, and nothing has been too

My father was reluctant to move to a care home but seems to have settled well here, with staff who have been very considerate towards his individual needs and requests. I feel the rooms and toilet area are a bit small but always clean. Also, I wonder if the residents would appreciate more music in the
activities. The gardens are beautifully maintained. The whole place is kept clean, fresh and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. This must be one of the best, if not the best, care homes in the area.

Dad moved into Beechwood in February 2017. Initially the transition into care was hard for him but he is now settled, feels secure and well looked after, thanks to the manager and staff who are all very friendly and provide a high standard of care. His privacy is respected and he is treated with dignity.


It

is a lovely home, the rooms are all on one level and the gardens are wonderful. Dad enjoys walking in them every day. Dad is relaxed, reassured and in good health.

My mother recently died having spent the last 8 years of her life at Beechwood. During this time the Manager and her team consistently cared for my mother in a kind, caring and positive manner. Initially, my mother was not keen to go into care, but within 6 weeks of moving in, she announced to me
one day that she was so happy I had found her such a lovely place to live in! And she remained happy and content there for the following 8 years.


Additionally, the rooms are very pleasant and the food is good. One of the things in particular that my mother loved was the gardens.
