Croft House is located in a scenic location, where it opened in 2011 as purpose-built care home. It includes en-suite accessible bathrooms and dedicated areas within the home for dementia care.

There is plenty to do thanks to a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator. Residents have access to IT facilities to stay in touch with friends and family further afield.

The philosophy of Croft House is that residents are supported to live as freely and independently as they wish, while having access to a highly-trained and friendly team of care staff who get to know each individual.

Mum moved in to Croft House in August 2016. She settled in from day one which speaks volumes in itself. The atmosphere in the home is relaxed, staff are always around but allow residents to do their own thing. The secure garden is amazing. I have never seen so much outdoor space at a residential home
before, Mum loves it as she can walk around it as often as she wants to.
She is also able to join in with the daily activities if she wants to and go on outings. Staff are always polite and nothing is too much trouble for them. We couldn't have found a better care home for Mum.

Amazing people, providing amazingly good service. You just know from their actions that the staff care and want to do the best job that they can. I cannot speak highly enough. They have cared for my father-in-law for nearly 18 months and done a brilliant job in some very difficult circumstances.
I cannot thank them enough for making my wife's life bearable.

Croft House provided my Mother outstanding care and consideration during her stay with them, which was for over two years. At all times my Mum was clean, tidy and happy, not always an easy task when my Mum had many problems. All of the staff we were in contact with were very professional and many worked
beyond the call of duty. I would have no hesitation in recommending Croft House to any one who needed residential care. Thank you once again.

Mum went to Croft House for residential care having previously spent several months in hospital followed by a brief spell in a nursing home. Her intent was to stay at Croft for a few weeks while she regained sufficient mobility to allow her to return home. This she achieved in no small measure due
to the tremendous support of the staff who assisted with both her physical recovery and the rebuilding of confidence. She found the care staff to be responsive to her needs day and night, and despite the pressures of work, they made time to talk to her and encourage her. The regime at the home appears to be well organised and convivial with care staff pulling in the same direction and supported by a management team who are themselves very involved in the care routines. Last but not least, Mum enjoyed the food at Croft and appreciated the way in which the kitchen staff catered for her restricted dietary needs. Our thanks as relatives to all those involved in Mum’s care.

I would just like to say what a refreshing wind has swept through Croft House since the new manager has taken over. We have a smiling face, open door and new hope for Croft House. My mum has been in Croft House for 8 years and has seen many changes but we hope this change has and will give us the boost
we all need.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.391)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.391) out of 10 for Croft House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.819 for Croft House is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.819

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.572 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Croft House is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.4 = 0.672

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Lisa Clark

Job Title: Registered Manager

My name is Lisa Clarke and I am the manager at Croft House in Williton. I have worked in the care industry for the past 26 years, starting as a community support worker, working in hospitals, and then moving through the ranks to supervisor and then manager. This has allowed me to understand the pressures and dedication it takes to provide excellent care to the people we look after.

My message to my team is always ‘we are privileged to come to work in our residents home every day, and we have a duty to respect this and feel proud’.

I believe in investing in my team, empowering them to be the best they can be, supporting them to develop and grow. I have an open-door policy, so I always make myself available. This then makes for a happy workforce and therefore a happy, welcoming home for our residents and their families.

I am excited to put my all into making Croft House the best version it can be. I look forward to sharing ideas, celebrating successes and supporting our wonderful residents to live the life they choose.
