The Old Vicarage provides a welcoming and friendly home for older people where they can feel comfortable, safe and happy. Prospective residents are welcome to spend a week or two at the home prior to moving in to ensure they make the best decision for them and their needs. Visitors are always welcome from prospective residents and their loved ones, and they may stay for lunch or for an entire day with prior notice so that they can get a real feel for life at the home.

Residents’ individual needs are taken into account when delivering care at The Old Vicarage. From arrival, staff strive to ensure residents are as comfortable as possible and are always on hand to assist with the settling in process. Each resident has a key worker who gets to know residents and ensure all their needs and preferences are met.

The Old Vicarage is a small home but has the facilities you would expect, as well as having a number of small bungalows for more independent living. We moved my Mother-in-law to one of the bungalows just over two years ago and she could not be happier. The staff team are excellent with a real care for
their residents. Mum could not be happier and often says how kind the team are and that they are always ready to help.
The Old Vicarage have had NO reported Covid cases to date, largely due to the level of care and thought put into their management of cross-contamination. They have recently created a visiting space that allows for family visiting, but the residents are sat in an armchair behind glass room dividers. This is not ideal obviously but does allow us to visit regularly.

After having a very bad fall and not being able to cope on her own. The care home we chose for my mum has gone above and beyond our expectations. My mother is so happy there, she has made new friends and loves all the activities they do each day. The careers are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble
even with this pandemic they have still kept all the residents' spirits up by still being able to have their hair done and nails painted. We have also received weekly newsletters to keep us all updated on our loved ones. The gardens are lovely for the residents to enjoy with lots of colourful plants and ample of seating area. To summarise this review we feel my mother is in a very safe and caring residential care home.

Mum needed to go into a home as she had a fall and after a hospital stay found that she could no longer manage. The manager and all her staff were and are wonderful, doing everything to make mum feel at home, from first-class care, organizing activities to do every day. Best of all mum loves it there.

Welcoming and comfy home, with very friendly staff. Lovely location and very nice grounds. My mother has settled in well and thinks of this as her home. No problems in the 2 years she has been a resident.

My husband (91 years) just spent a week at The Old Vicarage whilst I had a week's respite of sex, drugs and rock and roll (sadly no sex or rock and roll and the drugs were strictly prescription).
We can't praise the staff highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble. Their attention to specific needs
was exemplary. In every respect, they go the extra mile.
One particular member of staff (policy does not allow me to name her) deserves 5* for her meticulous attention to wound dressing. Over a period of many years, the highest has been 3* - we hope she recognises herself!
His room was warm and comfortable. Staff were prompt when he rang the bell for assistance. His privacy and dignity were respected on all occasions.
Distinct from other places - no offensive smells!
He will be very happy to return for respite again and we're told they will be happy to have him.
We are delighted to recommend The Old Vicarage to anyone who is considering a care home for themselves or a relative.

I came in for a week's respite care whilst my wife had her first holiday in five years.
The staff managed my complex medication extremely well, particularly changing fentanyl patches regularly.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
I came here because
my mother-in-law had her last few months here.

The Old Vicarage is somewhere I would highly recommend because you are treated as one of the family. There is always staff around and you never never have to wait long for any help to receive what ever you need.
The beds are fantastic (hospital bed if you need one like I did). The gardens are unbelievable
nice and they are flat. All in all The Old Vicarage is a home from home and I would have no hesitation in moving there permanently if the time ever comes.

My mother is now a resident in a bungalow in the grounds of The Old Vicarage. It is the best decision we ever made. She is safe, secure, never lonely and looked after day and night. She is happier now than she has been for a very long time. All the staff are wonderful.

We chose The Old Vicarage in 2007 for location and known friendly staff. Since then mums condition has deteriorated and her needs increased considerably. The home has been one step ahead and has met her changing situation sensitively and appropriately. They demonstrate a commitment to safety and comfort
in her familiar surrounding for as long as they are able. Family visits are welcomed. A handsome building with delightful grounds has been thoughtfully adapted over the years and a recent programme of improvement has resulted in considerable enhancement without undue disruption to residents. Activities are no longer relevant for my mother so I cannot comment on this aspect, Similarly, I have no comparisons on cost but I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else.

My mother moved to The Old Vicarage in December, as she was unable to manage in her assisted living flat.
Mum was apprehensive at first but soon got accustomed to her new home, the staff treated her with respect and kindness and gave her the care that she required.
The home has provided good home
cooked food and plenty of fluids.
Mum always looked need and tidy, as her health deteriorated she was treated with dignity and made comfortable.
Visitors were well looked after with endless cups of tea and cakes.

My mother was a resident at The Old Vicarage for 8 years. She received excellent care during that time including 'end of life care' when the time came. Staff are cheerful and caring which reflects well on the management. Rooms overlook the large garden or surrounding countryside. The bungalows in the
grounds allow privacy and independence but residents also receive any care required.
