Mum has been made so welcome as a respite stay following a fall and a spell in hospital has turned into a six-month stay! The staff are all delightful and keep me well informed. However, the facilities are basic in terms of rooms but the care and support outweigh this snag.

All staff including the manager were very helpful, kind, and caring. The home is a pleasant place to be. The staff was also very kind and polite about ensuring current coronavirus guidelines were enforced (i.e. ensuring I thoroughly washed my hands upon entry without being intrusive). They received
notification of closure whilst I was there and they were very considerate of how they informed me, especially considering the pressure they were under.

I would like to begin with a huge thank you to all at Bculand Court. The care/compassion that was shown and given to my Mum was out of this world. I would never be able to repay the kindness, warmth, and laughter. Mum was very happy and content living at Buckland Court, which is a God-send to the family.
Mum passed away on 15/5/20. The dignity and compassion were outstanding to the end. Thank you, you became a part of my Mum's family.

All staff at Buckland Court have shown how much they care for the residents in the time my mum has been there. Nothing is too much trouble which is partially hard as the home has been in total lockdown because of Covid-19. Mum is very happy there, and I can't express my thanks enough to all that have
dealt with her.

From the top down all the staff are friendly, caring and understanding. As my mother's needs have increased, so has the amount of assistance she requires increased. Everyone has risen to the challenges this presents. All the staff go out of their way to make residents feel as though it is their home
and that they are valued and cared about. My mother has Parkinson's which is now affecting her mentally. Everyone is helping her to accept this.

We visited our friend who has significant dementia over three days with multiple visits. Although our friend has difficulty communicating, as far as we could tell, he is quite happy at Buckland Court. He is interested in what is going on around him and clearly, prefers to be in the common areas instead
of in his room. The staff are uniformly kind and attentive to all the residents, communicate clearly with them and have established a very positive social atmosphere. We are very glad that our friend is being taken care of so well. Thank you.

It is the staff, every single one of them, operating as a team, that make Buckland Court such a wonderful and caring home. It is spotlessly clean, the food is first-rate and the balance of activities carefully thought through.
Other places may have more modern facilities but they do not have the same
feeling or atmosphere of family and care. Nothing is too much trouble, every one made to feel valued, respected and loved. So thank you! Thank you to the team.

My wife and myself were taken by mini-coach to Great Bedwyn for a barge trip. We were looked after with great care by all staff. All of the staff were extremely attentive to my wife's needs and cannot praise the staff of the home enough, the barge and the lovely gentle coach ride.

Mum settled in well after being admitted from NHS care earlier this year. Dad was admitted from home on the same day. There have been problems with their coming to terms with their change in circumstances, but the staff quickly learnt how to ease tensions between them so that they are now happier and
more relaxed.

Mum and dad were admitted on the same day after she had been in hospital for 4 months. Mum has found it difficult to come to terms with the deterioration in Dad's mental state but the patience and kindness of the staff have proved invaluable when tensions have occurred between them.

My Aunt has been in Buckland Court since last August and the care she has received has been excellent. All the staff have been very helpful and nothing has been too much trouble for them to sort out. I would have no hesitation recommending this care home to others.

During my mother's time at Buckland Court all staff were brilliant. Not only for the two years she enjoyed but especially during the last few weeks of her life. Each individual that worked at this care provider made me, my Mum and the rest of my family feel welcome since the first day that my mother
attended the day centre. This care home is truly amazing and I won't ever forget how well they treated my family.

My mother has only been a resident since October 2017 but has settled in very quickly and has expressed that she feels safe and that the staff are all very helpful.
I am kept informed on my visits of progress in eating, weight gain and have been told that she is joining in more in activities.
The
staff are very caring and respond to requests very efficiently. Having had a family member previously in another care home, Buckland Court is far superior in its attitude to care for residents.

Buckland Court have been amazing in helping my dad settle smoothly into permanent residential care - their constant care, support and kindness have been brilliant and I can't thank all of the lovely staff enough for the hard work and commitment. (All done with a smile) Nothing is ever too much trouble
and I always feel welcome when I visit and reassured that dad is cared for to the highest standard. Huge thank you.

My aunt has been lucky enough to call Buckland Court her home for just over a year now. I am constantly impressed by the levels of professional care and the atmosphere of warmth and love from the moment you enter her home.
Staff work together as a team to ensure that all who live here are treated with
dignity and respect. Each person is treated and loved as an individual family member. The home cooking is delicious and there are loads of fun activities each day. Visitors are welcomed and I shall be forever grateful for how the staff have gently taught me about dementia and it impacts. They look after the whole family. We are blessed to have my aunt safe, nurtured and happy at Buckland Court. Thank you.

My mum loves it here. All the staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. My mum loves the trips out that they organise. The care my mum receives is tremendous and it gives our family peace of mind that she's in the best place. My mum enjoys going to the day centre that they provide. Overall
I would say "faultless"!!!

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.011)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.011) out of 10 for Buckland Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.411 for Buckland Court is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.411

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Buckland Court is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.8

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
