Ferfoot Care Home is a sympathetically converted large family home built in 1902, and is located in the attractive market town of Chippenham, providing the highest standards of residential and residential dementia care for up to 52 elderly people. The home offers trial stays, short stays, convalescent care and long-term care for individuals or couples.

The dedicated care team works closely with residents and loved ones to provide the highest quality of specialist dementia care. The teams create a life story for each resident, helping to ensure that care and activities take into account each resident’s individual life experience, whilst care needs are always met.

This specialist approach enables the care team to support people with complex needs, assisted by the layout and concentration of the communal areas. The secure, enclosed garden provides a sense of peace and tranquillity and is open to residents and visitors at any time.

My husband has been with Ferfoot since 2018 November, so I have long experience of Ferfoot Care Home. They got him walking again after a broken hip! He obviously is losing all facilities quite rapidly now due to his vascular dementia! I have nothing but thanks and praise for their help.

Dad has been at Ferfoot since November 2018 and we have always been extremely happy with the care and support he receives. His vascular dementia has worsened over this period and he is not at times the easiest of residents but the staff always have his best interests at heart. We can rely on them to
address issues and keep us completely informed. Thank you to the Ferfoot family.

Although current circumstances mean that I have been unable to enter the main house, my visits have been managed in a professional way. I am content that my wife is being kept safe and well. The staff have always been welcoming and pleased to help relieve any concerns or queries I have had. The reception/admin

My mother seems happy and relaxed which is what comes as good care is given. I have the utmost respect for all at Ferfoot, especially during these testing times. The fact that the home is covid free is down to the wonderful staff and nursing. Especially the management who are warm and caring to myself

Mum and I moved Dad to Ferfoot in January 2020. We visited the home individually in the first instance and were both very impressed with the staff on duty at the time and the information we were given. We then visited together and met the care home manager to discuss Dad moving to Ferfoot. The manager
is excellent and filled us with confidence that Dad would be well looked after, and his needs fully met. All the staff are busy and engaging with resider whenever we visit. Dad is always dressed, in the lounge and we are advised generally happy and eating well.
We are happy we moved him to Ferfoot, where he seems happier and more content.

My wife is calm, contented and clean. Ther is no sign of stress. The staff are cheerful, friendly and informative. My wife reacts warmly to them when they regularly interact with her. Her room is light, bright, cheerful and very clean. Her clothing is well cared for. She eats well and appears healthy.
The
house is spacious, never feels crowded. The staff are always about.
I could not be happier about the care my wife receives.

We are so grateful for the care that Ferfoot give to my brother.
Staff are unfailingly kind, courteous and respectful to him. Physically he is well looked after.
The activity lady is outstanding, we think. So enthusiastic and thoughtful and treats patients wonderfully, always thinking of ways to

Could do with updates on mum, by email, instead of having to ask staff how she is. That has gone downhill of late. Overall, mum is well looked after.

This is my first experience of a care home as my husband was taken ill in October 2017 and as a result of this (a stroke), he has been left with dementia. I have nothing but praise for Ferfoot. From the very beginning, I have been kept fully informed of my husband's welfare, and the care and compassion
of all members of staff are outstanding. The food is excellent and varied with choices for each meal. His room is kept very clean and he also is kept clean and tidy. He is settled and quite happy and I am never afraid to leave him after visits. I am sure he is being kept safe and happy, which reassures me. So overall I am very happy with Ferfoot.

I'm very, very particular about care homes and the standard of service one expects and should receive, and from a professional perspective, I've seen a few nursing homes so have some idea of how to gauge them. From the moment my father arrived at Ferfoot nursing home, he could not have been looked after
any better. The staff were caring, attentive, considerate, kind and always happy and welcoming. Such small, but thoughtful things the staff do make this home and the level of care they provide so much better than many others. The staff are always around and available, but never intrusive. All of the staff make the whole experience of having a relative there, and visiting them, such a warm and welcoming experience. Having used other care homes, I can testify, without any hesitation, that Ferfoot nursing home is a breed apart - caring compassionate, welcoming and staffed by the kindest and most patient of staff. I've never hesitated to recommend them to anyone.

What a lovely "family home" feel.


With great entertainment, singing and dancing and days out.
The staff have a great rapport with each other and especially the residents.


If ever I needed to go into a home - Ferfoot would be at the top of my list. (P.S I'm only 50 - not needed yet).

All staff were very welcoming, open and supportive at all times. Mum had advanced Alzheimer's and needed constant care and from the start, we were confident that she was receiving the care required.
We were informed of any incidents that arose, however small, immediately.

Roxana is our Home Manager at Ferfoot Care Home, here’s a little bit more about herself and the home in her own words:


“As the Home Manager, I believe that our residents should be treated with the highest quality of care possible and endeavour to ensure that my team and I always maintain this. I lead by example and involve myself in the day-to-day life of the home as well as making Ferfoot a happy and enjoyable place in which to live and work. I take a lot of pleasure from spending time with relatives and residents, understanding the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.


I have over 15 years of experience in the care sector having worked in various roles including carer, senior carer and deputy manager, prior to then becoming home manager. All my roles have given me insight and knowledge which I draw upon each day and share with my team.


It is important to me to develop team members to achieve their best, which means that together we make a difference in the lives of each of the residents in our care.”
