A wonderful home, warm and friendly, with charming admin, reception, and caring staff. Superb manager, lots of interesting activities. Great menu, overall 100% establishment. Would add that all the staff are cheerful and a credit to the home.

Lovely, caring nursing home. I felt they really knew my stepfather, despite his dementia and wanted to keep him comfortable in his final days.
His ensuite room was spacious and had a lovely view over fields.

I spent the last two days of my mother's life with her at home. Although I had not spent time with her recently, I had spoken to her at least once a week. (I live in the USA) and she was very happy to have chosen the home. Close friends who visited her were always very complimentary of the house and
the care provided in her final two days the staff were awesome. They showed compassion visited regularly and encouraged her throughout. The administration staff were super helpful with wrapping up details after her passing. Thank you!

I live in the USA, so don't often get the opportunity to visit my dear Mum there, but I loved seeing her at the beginning of this year. She was relaxed and smiling, although, of course, doesn't say much. The staff are all attentive and positive, and the activities organised for the residents are varied

This is my first experience of respite care for my husband with Alzheimer's, so had nothing to compare it with. On the whole, we were treated with respect and friendliness. My husband seemed to be fairly content and relaxed whilst there. I asked that staff would engage him in the activities that took
place most days but he was unable to tell me what he had done, as he is virtually non-verbal. I was told he had been on an outing and he had and that he had taken part in one activity but received no further information. I would have liked to of known what he had been doing apart from sleeping. He is very quiet and would not have made a fuss. I would have liked a little more staff communication. Often when I visited there appeared no one around to speak to.

Since my stepfather has lived at Longbridge Deverill Nursing Home he has been very well looked after and the staff have been excellent. We are so pleased that after a battle he was allowed /enabled to remain here after initially going in as respite care. From what I know this care home should get 5

Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home is a very caring environment with dedicated staff who go above and beyond their job description. There is a lovely garden where afternoon tea is held on warm days but can also be visited by residents when accompanied. The food is tasty and wholesome and seconds
are usually available. Clothing can go missing and an effective laundry system needs to be put in place but management is working on this. Longbridge has a happy friendly environment where the residents are treated well with care and dignity.

This is my mother-in-law's 3rd year at Longbridge Deverill Nursing Home. She is having wonderful care from the kindest nurses and carers that she could wish for. Everyone is so lovely and she is always treated with the greatest respect. She has been so well cared for and has made this her home. The
activities are tailored to the needs of each resident. The food is excellent. She is content, and safe and all her needs are met. She speaks highly of everyone. We could not recommend this using home enough. It is the best.

Mum has been at Longbridge Deverill care home for nearly three years having looked like she only had months to live when she arrived. She has been expertly looked after with all staff showing great levels of care compassion love and support. They really have done a brilliant job caring for Mum and I

It is sometimes hard to get into Stourhead, especially at the weekends. Everyone on the staff are very friendly. I noticed that as soon as I enter my mum's room if she is awake the first thing she says is "can I have a drink" which makes me wonder if she is being given enough to drink. As she is unable
to move she is very dependent on help and offers of drinks etc. She is meant to be kept at no more than 30 degrees angle in bed, it helps her if the whole bed is tilted rather than just the top. The bed is rarely like this when I arrive. Maybe the staff need training to know how to use the bed.

The staff were very empathetic, and many of the front-line team showed great care. Rooms were okay be impersonal. In terms of equipment, blankets, and cleanliness no corner is left uncut - dirty, torn, and smelly. Toilets left uncleaned after asking for days(I did it in the end). Mattresses are cheap
foam and very thin over steel frames. Terrible. So thank you, staff, but managers I'm sorry there is a lot to improve. Very expensive all considered.

I've been in Longbridge Deverill House since 13/01/2023 and I'm still here. The home is set in a wonderful part of the Wiltshire countryside and the buildings and gardens are excellent and beautiful for the residents to enjoy. The staff are all very polite, helpful, respectful and caring. They go above
and beyond the duties they have to perform to ensure that every resident is well looked after and their needs fulfilled from shopping, laundry service and personal care.


The rooms are very clean and well-kept to a 5-star rating. The food is always well prepared and excellent with the chefs taking their time to come and visit residents to ask them if they require any special dietary requirements. I've enjoyed every moment here at the care home and would recommend it to anyone who has a relative that needs quality care. There's a wide variety of activities for the residents to take part in and learn new skills or carry on with hobbies they used to do. I'll miss all the staff.

My father has been cared for by Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home since being discharged from hospital on the NHS End of Life Pathway. The home manager and his team have made my father feel settled and comfortable in these difficult circumstances, and have been very welcoming to my father's
family and friends when visiting. The home manager took the time to provide a tour of the facilities to my mother and I, and we were deeply impressed by what we saw.
I am also very grateful for the help and advice provided by the care home staff, particularly one staff member who went to a great deal of effort to assist when my father was first discharged from hospital (the hospital had provided very little notice of this).
The home is very secure, and residents' security/wellbeing are taken very seriously. The setting, in the Wyle Valley, is lovely, and my father has a lovely view across the valley from his room. My father is enjoying the food, and the small touches (eg allowing some belongings and pictures from home that make the setting more homely).

‘I started working at LDNH as agency staff. I was sent here continuously for more than 2 years. The management of the care home noticed my skills and in October 2022 I was employed with a contract. In less than a year I became the unit lead in the dementia unit. I like working at LDNH because the management is supportive and there are countless opportunities to advance in my role. Beth Holmes

Beth is a Dementia Champion here at Longbridge Deverill and has undergone enhanced training in dementia care, mental capacity and DoLs (deprivation of liberty safeguarding). Beth’s role ensures she is advocating for individuals to ensure their best interests are upheld and individuals with dementia are supported to lead fulfilled lives. Beth is involved in auditing processes to improve our dementia service and supports our care team and family members regarding issues relating to dementia care and services provided to older people.


‘I started working at LDNH in Dec 2020 as a care assistant, this was my first job in the care sector and I can definitely say I have found my passion. I have been lucky enough to progress within my career completing my Level 3 NVQ in Adult care and I am currently the Unit Lead on the Marquess suite, alongside completing my Level 5 in Management. I have grown as a person in confidence as well as gained a lot of knowledge and experience since I started working here. We have an amazing management team who are always there to support and guide us. All the staff here at LDNH are amazing and are continuously striving to be the best, we have a lovely atmosphere here and we all really care for the residents, we treat them as we would treat our own grandparents’.

India started working at Longbridge Deverill Nursing Home in September 2023 as a joint unit lead on the specialist dementia unit. India has worked in health and social care for 11 years and has loved every minute of it. She has found what she loves to do and has been lucky enough to progress in her career to a senior role. India is also being supported to complete her NVQ 5 in leadership and management.


Working at Longbridge Deverill is a pleasure and the staff and residents make it a truly amazing place to work.
