    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

My Mum has been at the Ridgeway House now for a few months she is really settled now she is joining in with the activities which the team is great and really gets them moving and thinking. Everyone of the staff are kind, considerate, and loving to my Mum and to me.

What a special place Ridgeway House is, the staff are just the kindest, most caring, empathetic, and supportive people you could hope to have to look after your loved ones, and are not recognised enough for their dedication and hard work, thank you for all you do!

My experience is not just for the above date but for a much longer period
All the carers are very warm and caring for the elderly person I'm responsible for (LPA).
Nothing is too much trouble for them to make her smile and make her comfortable.
I'm always greeted with a smile when I visit by all
the staff and carers.
Her and myself are very happy with the care that she is receiving.

Ridgeway House has gone above and beyond providing such a lovely 'homely' environment - for my mum, who has been a resident for nearly two and half years, now.
The home is so clean with a lovely, welcoming atmosphere.
It is such a joy to visit and I always look forward to visiting her, as the staff
are so warm, friendly, and professional, too.
I feel so happy, knowing that Mum is happy, and well cared for and I think my siblings will agree.

My 94-year-old Mum had been living independently for 4 years but has got to the point where she can not look after herself and will not accept a carer coming in 3 times a day. She also has dementia and is very forgetful.
A friend's mother-in-law had stayed at Ridgeway house years ago so we went to
see them on Thursday and by Monday we managed to move mum into their care.
On our initial visit we were impressed with the energy of all the staff, the welcoming atmosphere, and how clean everything was. All staff seemed to have a 'can do' attitude and many have been employed there for 5 years +.
Mum is difficult to manage but her 2 allocated carers have already got her eating in the communal area and will get her to gradually integrate over the next few weeks. Nothing seems too much bother for them.
Two of the carers got all the legal paperwork in place immediately and the Manager has been keeping us updated on a daily basis on how mum is settling in.

Our dad is being really well looked after since coming to the care home at Ridgeway House. The home put on an amazing birthday party for his 88th birthday. All the staff are incredibly caring and Dad enjoys all their company.

I can truly say this care home is so lovely and caring. All the team give you a great welcome and really want to help. It was such a sad day when Dad had to go into care as his dementia was getting so bad but when we arrived at Ridgeway they treated him so well it made us feel comfortable leaving him.

We have been going to the care home now for three months, a warm welcome each time from the staff. My sister-in-law is always well-dressed and well-fed, the meals always look very nice. Her room and all of the home is always clean and tidy with all the other residents looking well cared for. Activities
every day to keep the residents occupied and stimulated to which my sister-in-law always joins in with. We highly recommend Ridgeway House. Thanks.

My mum has been at Ridgeway for 6 months now, and we couldn’t be happier with the care she receives.
The home is so clean, and homely. Always have fresh flowers around.
My mum is full of smiles, and laughter.
The home has some amazing entertainment and events - our favourite being the summer BBQ.

I am very happy with the care my father-in-law receives. It was a big family decision to accept that my wife could not look after her father any longer. The staff and management are amazing and made the transition so much easier. Dad is so happy in his room and loves all the staff. It seems to be one
big family. There is a lovely atmosphere in the home and the staff are very busy they have time for the families as well.

My mum has been at Ridgeway House since April 2023. In that time, unfortunately, her Alzheimer’s and physical health have deteriorated so this has made it harder for her to join in with activities. However, it is not for want of trying by the team at Ridgeway House! They obviously care about the residents
and always have a smile and kind words to say when myself and my wife visit. When Mum first arrived there were some issues with the laundry service so Mum did run out of clothes sometimes. This appears to be much better now. There was also a short period of time in Nov/Dec when Mum’s room was not very clean. However, again, this seems to have improved. Both issues, I believe were due to being short-staffed. Although it is hard to see Mum as she is now, we know she is well looked after, the food always seems lovely and the staff are very caring and friendly.

Ridgeway House feels warm and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble.

My husband has been in Ridgeway for a while. He is very happy and loves it! Quite a thing for me as I live in Spain and see him rarely. I myself and all out family could not wish for a better place for my wife to be cared for.
The management and carers all do a wonderful caring job, not only for my wife I feel they also seem to care for me, it is so nice she is being so well cared for.

Dad became a permanent resident at Ridgeway House in March 2023. All the staff have been amazing with Dad; polite, courteous, patient, caring and attentive. The care home itself is always clean and tidy and smells fresh and clean. The garden is well looked after with plenty of outside seating and well
attended borders.

Hannah

Hannah Mason

Job Title: Home Manager

Hannah has been Ridgeway Home Manager since early 2022 and has worked in the care sector for 11 years.
Prior to Ridgeway, Hannah was Deputy Manager at Goodson Lodge in Trowbridge.
Initially, she started her career as a Carer and her potential was quickly recognised as she gained the position of Senior Carer after only two years.
Hannah held the position of Senior Carer within several home care companies for the next 9 years.
During this time Hannah went to college part-time to gain her Level 3 National Diploma in Health and Social Care, before advancing to complete her Level 5 in Leadership and Management of Health and Social Care Services in 2017.
What Hannah loves most about her job is making a difference in people's lives and forming meaningful relationships with residents, health care professionals and colleagues.
Hannah makes a point of ensuring that she has experience in all shifts so that she can fully understand the needs and challenges faced by her team.


Karen

Karen Collins

Job Title: Care Leader

Joined: 2012

Karen has worked in Domiciliary Care for 10 years and started at Ridgeway House as a Carer in 2012. She completed her QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care in 2018 and enjoys her role very much, especially the responsibilities and challenges that it brings. Karen feels that being part of Ridgeway House is very rewarding and that it is nice to know you are making a difference to someone else’s life.


Nikki

Nikki Large

Job Title: Day Centre Co-ordinator

Joined: 2012

Nikki started with OSJCT at Athelstan House on the rehab unit Primrose. After learning about a vacancy at the Lorna Doone Day Centre at Ridgeway House, she successfully applied for the position and began her new role in 2014.


With 28 years of experience in domiciliary care and rehab, the day centre felt like a fantastic way to help her local community by providing her clients with entertainment such as bingo, quizzes and games. She has said that it is satisfying to know our clients leave the day centre having had a fulfilling day.


Outside of work Nikki enjoys spending time with her friends, family and her Border Collie Sonny. She is a keen gardener and on the weekends can often be found at her local garden centre and car boot sales looking for ways for she and her husband can add to their garden.


Alison

Alison Chapman

Job Title: Administration Assistant

Alison has worked in the care industry for almost 9 years and she commenced her care working life in the local Hospice working alongside volunteers, prior to years of working for large international company as a Customer Service Manager. Alison gained an interest in dementia care when her and her family experienced it first-hand. She therefore went off to study it and gained an NCFE level 3 in Dementia care. She is now loving working part time at Ridgeway House supporting the staff and families on the administration side of care. Alison feels like they are one big family all working together to keep their residents safe and happy. A warm welcome awaits everyone who comes here. In her spare time, Alison goes to music concerts and the theatre quite a lot, and her favourite holiday destination is Cyprus.
