  • Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
    These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
    utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and

    Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

My Dad went into Ridgeway House for respite when Mum had a fall. Mum was in hospital for an extended stay so Dad was there longer than expected. I have nothing but admiration and thanks for the wonderful care and help that was given. I would also like to thank the manager and the staff for all their
support for me and my family at this stressful time.

My father came to have respite and ended up staying. The staff are so lovely and friendly. They know how to manage my dad. They all love him. His room is very comfortable, he is in a very safe environment, I don't have to worry about him. It's close by. He's made lots of friends and takes part in activities.
A true home from home!

Mum has been here over 6 months after an accident left her no longer able to care for herself. The staff have assisted in her recovery to the extent she is now able to walk again though with an aid, also they have helped slow down her dementia.

My Mother moved into Ridgeway House in March 2018. Prior to moving in I had visited the home and was impressed with the attitude of the staff who greeted all residents by their first name. Ridgeway also passed the 'smell test'. Whilst a little 'dated' my Mothers room is functional and suited to her
needs. Staff are friendly, attentive and caring. My Mother settled in very quickly - she is 97 and I am happy for her to remain there.

Staff could not have been more helpful or support during this difficult period. We were given lots of information and paperwork which was clearly explained. We had updates on how our mother had settled in which was very reassuring. Prompt action was taken when she fell ill suddenly. There is always
lots of staff around the home and they know all the old folk's names and they have got to know me and greet me using my name.
My mother has settled in well and is encouraged to talk to other residents and join activities. Mum is doing so much better in this calm and caring environment.

I placed my mother into Ridgeway House as she was not able to look after herself. I have not regretted it. Ridgeway House is run by a very lovely lady and all the staff are friendly and very professional. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is excellent, the rooms are good and well maintained.
Ridgeway House is always clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Overall, it is a lovely place for my mother to live.

Lovely staff making my mum feel safe and secure. She took a while to settle due to health issues but they never gave up with her. She is now happy and content and enjoying life again.

Excellent staff at Ridgeway House. This care home is a wonderful place for my nan to stay in her later life. The staff are always very kind professional and the Ridgeway House is always very clean a super facility in Wootton Bassett.

My mother has resided at Ridgeway since 1/9/14. The staff have a very caring attitude towards people in the home. This also includes the cooks and administrators, who know my mothers name and make the time to speak to her if passing. I feel that this care and attitude to a sometimes, difficult individual
cannot be purchased, it is something inbuilt to all of the staff.
To me the staff are honest, smiling and good tempered. For my mothers birthday recently, the staff provided entertainment, singing and a special tea party. The home enjoyed the afternoon so everyone befitted. An excellent establishment.

I find the care home excellent. All the staff from the management to the cleaners are all so very kind. The care staff are second to none and you should be proud of this group of staff. The rooms may not have en-suites but more residents need help anyway so I don't think that it is an issue. Everything
is spotlessly clean, the food is fabulous and it's a joy to go. The staff are jolly and understanding, this place is an excellent care home and I sure if a TV programme was done on this place a lot of fears would be taken away, as these places or homes only ever get bad press and not good.

The staff are my friends its like a family here. Ridgeway has a lovely atmosphere you cant fault the food we have two great chefs. The decoration is looking lovely. We enjoy the quizzes and the trips and the entertainment we have in.

Hannah

Hannah Mason

Job Title: Home Manager

Hannah has been Ridgeway Home Manager since early 2022 and has worked in the care sector for 11 years.
Prior to Ridgeway, Hannah was Deputy Manager at Goodson Lodge in Trowbridge.
Initially, she started her career as a Carer and her potential was quickly recognised as she gained the position of Senior Carer after only two years.
Hannah held the position of Senior Carer within several home care companies for the next 9 years.
During this time Hannah went to college part-time to gain her Level 3 National Diploma in Health and Social Care, before advancing to complete her Level 5 in Leadership and Management of Health and Social Care Services in 2017.
What Hannah loves most about her job is making a difference in people's lives and forming meaningful relationships with residents, health care professionals and colleagues.
Hannah makes a point of ensuring that she has experience in all shifts so that she can fully understand the needs and challenges faced by her team.


Karen

Karen Collins

Job Title: Care Leader

Joined: 2012

Karen has worked in Domiciliary Care for 10 years and started at Ridgeway House as a Carer in 2012. She completed her QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care in 2018 and enjoys her role very much, especially the responsibilities and challenges that it brings. Karen feels that being part of Ridgeway House is very rewarding and that it is nice to know you are making a difference to someone else’s life.


Nikki

Nikki Large

Job Title: Day Centre Co-ordinator

Joined: 2012

Nikki started with OSJCT at Athelstan House on the rehab unit Primrose. After learning about a vacancy at the Lorna Doone Day Centre at Ridgeway House, she successfully applied for the position and began her new role in 2014.


With 28 years of experience in domiciliary care and rehab, the day centre felt like a fantastic way to help her local community by providing her clients with entertainment such as bingo, quizzes and games. She has said that it is satisfying to know our clients leave the day centre having had a fulfilling day.


Outside of work Nikki enjoys spending time with her friends, family and her Border Collie Sonny. She is a keen gardener and on the weekends can often be found at her local garden centre and car boot sales looking for ways for she and her husband can add to their garden.


Alison

Alison Chapman

Job Title: Administration Assistant

Alison has worked in the care industry for almost 9 years and she commenced her care working life in the local Hospice working alongside volunteers, prior to years of working for large international company as a Customer Service Manager. Alison gained an interest in dementia care when her and her family experienced it first-hand. She therefore went off to study it and gained an NCFE level 3 in Dementia care. She is now loving working part time at Ridgeway House supporting the staff and families on the administration side of care. Alison feels like they are one big family all working together to keep their residents safe and happy. A warm welcome awaits everyone who comes here. In her spare time, Alison goes to music concerts and the theatre quite a lot, and her favourite holiday destination is Cyprus.
