Ashbury Lodge is a family-run, private care home on the outskirts of Swindon, catering for 42 residents.

Long term residents are invited to personalize their room, which includes bringing in favorite or treasured items.

Both floors cater for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia who need extra care.

Every floor functions as a separate unit within the home. All staff are trained in the care of those experiencing memory loss, Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

Meals are varied and nutritious and prepared daily by the home’s on-site resident chef and food is sourced from local suppliers. Residents are able to choose their own meals whether that’s down to dietary requirements or personal choice.

There is also a garden enabling residents to enjoy sunny days, or short walks fro fresh air.

I am extremely impressed with all the staff at Ashbury Lodge, they have kept covid 19 away from the home and have strived to keep me abreast of all dad's events. I absolutely loved dad's homemade Christmas card. I have always found the carers ready with a smile and are always willing to assure me dad's
ok. I can rely on the staff to care for him to a high standard and keep me up to date.

Mum's been at Ashbury Lodge for 2 years. I've been very impressed with the care and the home as a whole. Mum can be difficult but is always treated with kindness and respect. We are kept informed of any issues of change in condition. There are times when she's been very unwell and she always looked
clean, very comfortable and beautifully cared for.
I'm impressed with the management, particularly during COVID-19, they've kept the residents safe and protected against the odds.
My husband is a nurse and I'm retired from nursing due to ill health. Nurses can always find fault in care given by others. I can't find fault with care at Ashbury Lodge. All staff are impressive but my review wouldn't be complete without a special mention for one person in particular! She is brilliant, caring, kind, knowledgeable, informative and everything a nurse or carer should be.
I can't thank you enough for looking after Mum so well and can't recommend this home highly enough. God bless u all, stay safe.

Mum had been transferred from another care home in December last year. She was made to feel at ease from the start, the senior gave her a snack as she arrived at 7 pm and sat talking to her for a while. I have found the staff to be caring and nothing is too much trouble, even making a cake and sandwiches
for us to have a small party for her birthday. This care home is 100% better than the other one.

Obviously since the Covid-19 outbreak, I have been unable to visit my mother, but I was impressed at the speed to which they took measures to prevent any spread in the initial stages by stopping visits. Prior to the shutdown, I was more than satisfied by the treatment my mother was receiving and by
the way they are keeping in touch.

We have facilities such as mobile phones and skype to support contact with relatives, and hope to be able to support safe visits very soon.

My Mother is well cared for and she is happy with her room and facilities provided. Staff are kind and caring. She is treated with respect and dignity.
I do feel that communication from the care could be improved. More feedback would be a way of rectifying this.

Ashbury Lodge is a good place, staffed by an excellent team who is dedicated to caring for their residents. My Dad has lived there for 18 months and his overall health, thanks to them, has improved in this time. During lockdown, we have been kept fully informed throughout. This is a sign of good leadership
at the home. The two elements combined have contributed to keeping COVID-19 at bay and we thank them all very much.

Overall, the standard of care is very good. The staff are competent and caring. The food is a decent quality and regular meals and drink are provided, including assisted eating as which my mother requires. We are happy to assist with personal care which is appreciated by the staff. The staff are friendly,
listen to you and act on any small problem it difficulty. We are very happy with the home for all my mothers needs.

My mother-in-law is so well cared for at Ashbury Lodge. The staff do their best for her and the other residents, not just for their basic needs but also to try to enrich their lives.
They treat her and the others with kindness, patience and humour. They also let us know quickly of any changes e.g falls.
The home is clean and well cared for and the laundry is quick and efficient. Food is excellent and the residents are helped with eating if necessary. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the care here.

My mother has dementia, after transferring from a non-suitable home found Ashbury Lodge. Best move. Very clean, tidy, organised home, all staff, any level from reception to cleaner, maintenance, all the same, open friendly, honest hard working. Nothing is ever too much to ask for, wish I had got Mum
here years ago, not wasted her life at previous home as time now very precious to us with Mum. Best care home I've ever known.

As I returned with mother to Ashbury Lodge after a little outing, she appeared relieved to be back. She said, "please don't ever put me in a home, I like it here and don't want to move". All the staff are very friendly. The entertainment lady, although overworked, has really worked hard to help her
settle. The maintenance man always has the time for a cheery chat. The manager also chats and mother thinks he is an old friend. Mother heartily enjoys her meals and there is always plenty. Her only complaint is that the view from her window is onto the back car park and bins.

My husband has been resident at the home since February 2018. Manager, staff at the home have worked extremely hard to settle him. I cared for my husband for 25 years at home ever since he returned from hospital due to having a stroke. My husband is now 95 years old with senile dementia. I visit him
on a regular basis and I can thank the staff at the care home for looking after him.

Today 16/8/18 I took my dad out for 2 hours in afternoon on return to find his bed not made and his toilet not emptied or room cleaned. This distressed my dad very much and this was the afternoon as well with him gone for 2 hours. I would of expected it to have been done especially for hygiene reasons
as well. This is not first time I've asked for it to be emptied.

Dad was in a temporary care home and I was concerned this move would upset him. He settled well and although he was confused the staff really made him welcome. The atmosphere always feels calm and relaxed which goes towards the residents feeling calm and content. Since his move here Dad's behaviour
seems far more consistent.

My family and I never wanted to see dad in a residential home. However, the care and kindness he is shown makes it so much easier. We visit him every day and welcome the 'open door' policy. With my husband working shifts it is often difficult to come in the daytime so evenings is when we can come. The
staff always welcome us and never make us feel bad about visiting at 8pm! Many thanks to you all, a brilliant, caring team.

My father was admitted for emergency 8 weeks care by social services due to his Dementia.
The staff were incredibly sensitive to our distress and made the transition much more bearable.
They are always friendly and caring to all the residents, I am always made to feel welcome whenever I visit.

have only praise for this care home and the respect and dignity they give to residents.
