We were very sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.
I am sorry we were not able to meet your wishes to accommodate your Dad on the nursing floor. I would be very willing to meet with you to explain our reasons, but it would be inappropriate for me to discuss personal details of his care on this forum.
I am glad that you found some of our staff genuinely caring. Whilst I can say with confidence that this applies to all of our staff, I accept your feedback and we will use it to reflect on our approaches.
Restrictions on visiting apply to all care homes across the country with some variations required by local public health bodies. I can assure you that at no time have we allowed staffing pressures to limit the duration or frequency of visiting that we offer at Kingsmead.
