Lansdowne Hill Care Home is a residential care home set in the beautiful Wiltshire village of Wroughton, four miles south of Swindon. Lansdowne provides affordable residential, dementia, respite and convalescence care.

The team at Lansdowne has a wealth of experience of caring for older people with physical and mental health needs, including Parkinson’s disease and the many types of dementia that people are now living with.

There are also excellent transport links into Swindon town centre and surrounding areas. Junction 15 of the M4 is just two miles away.

CQC has given Lansdowne Hill a rating of ‘outstanding’. Its March 2018 inspection report recognised ‘innovative and exceptional care’.

There are 46 single bedrooms in Lansdowne Hill, across the ground floor and the first floor. The first floor is fully accessible, by stairs or a lift.

All rooms have en-suites or washbasins in the room and rooms without en-suites have accessible bathrooms nearby.

Each bedroom has a TV point, and most of the rooms have a telephone point.

Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with their own photos and furniture. Personal possessions help residents feel at home, and provide extra stimulation and time for reminiscence.

Although mum has only been a resident at Lansdowne for a short time, we've been extremely happy with the thoughtful and compassionate care she and our family have received. After being at the home for a month, mum suffered a mild stroke and spent 2 weeks in hospital. When discharged, her needs increased
significantly, due to being poorly from a secondary infection. However, nothing has been too much trouble for the staff and we believe her continuing recovery is largely due to the attention the carers have given to ensure mum has been comfortable and her needs met, both mentally and physically. The staff are warm and friendly, extremely hard working and very caring to the residents, their families and to each other and always make time to update us. They have been professional throughout and supported us through what has been a distressing time. I know I speak for my family when I say we are extremely grateful and appreciative of the care and support mum has received so far.

Our Dad was discharged from GWH to Lansdowne Hill Care Home and was made welcome from day one. The staff were amazing and treated him with so much respect and dignity. Nothing was too much trouble during his stay. Our family was kept up to date constantly and always felt at home during our visits. Dad
was always comfortable, had lovely nourishing food, constant checks and someone to chat to. The manager worked hard to ensure all the residents were looked after to the highest standard. All the staff from the handyman to the cooks, cleaners, carers and entertainers were brilliant. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lansdowne Hill.

From the moment my nan arrived, she was made to feel at home, we are a very close family and this was something we never wanted. The entire staff are committed to providing a caring service for all and you only have to step inside the door to feel the warmth and care they provide day and night.

Putting our nan in a home was the last thing any of us wanted and of course, choosing a home was something we had to do as a family. We all feel that Lansdowne Hill Care Home is the best place for nan as she is cared for beautifully. As "nan" said once "It's not the home but it's the closest thing!"
and that says it all!
