Since the moment my relative entered St Anthony's, in November 2020 she was treated with utmost respect. She was loved by the staff. She was well cared for emotionally, physically, and intellectually.
Staff consulted me about her health and well being, offered suggestions in terms of care for my relative
and support for me also. When my relatives passed away, they were amazing, helping me make decisions. I consider many of the staff family now.

My brother was here for over 6 months, he was looked after very well by the staff and the management. The staff were very helpful and nice to everyone every time we visited we were all offered tea and biscuits and they arranged all his hospital appointments. Many thanks for looking after my brother.

My brother and I had a very small window of time to sort out respite care for Mom, who had reached 100 years old and was living at home with my brother as a career. My brother needed hospital care, so we needed to find a suitable home. We looked at a few, but St Anthony's was by far the best we looked
at as it had:
Nice appointed rooms.
CCTV in the control room.
Visiting time and access were very good.
Staff help and assistance - always available.
A good range of mobility equipment was available.
All areas of the home were clean and tidy.
Good off-road parking for staff and visitors.
Management and staff always there and attentive.

Mom spent four happy years at St Anthony’s, including through hard times due to Covid restrictions, but as a family, we never felt she was being neglected or was anything but cared for and loved.
The team were always kind, respectful and welcoming and did whatever they could to make us, as a family,
welcome even to the end when Mom sadly passed away under the loving care of the home’s staff.

My mother has been a resident of St Anthony's for just over three years. This has included during Covid and the frustrations of visiting restrictions.
My mother's care needs have changed and increased, and I am grateful that the staff who provide her care are kind, friendly and have a good sense of
humour. The staff seem to genuinely care for her as an individual. There have been three long trips to A&E during the last 12 months, and on each occasion, I have been very much relieved when my mother has been able to return to St Anthony's, which is probably the clearest demonstration of my confidence in the home to provide the love and care that she needs.

My mum was a resident at St Anthony's Residential Home for 3 years moving in just before 'lockdown' came into place! Throughout the challenging and difficult Covid months staff did all they could to help us keep in touch with Mum with regular video calls and updates and did all they could to accommodate
visits when possible.
The staff have always been fantastic and have welcomed us as her family with smiles, kind words and cups of tea! Staff have shown Mum genuine love and affection and absolutely went above and beyond the call of duty in Mum's last few days. They were with us at her bedside and supported us by listening when we needed it most. We were able to come and go from Mum's room at any time of the day or night which was a real help to us as a family. We want to thank all staff for their support and will miss them!

Due to Dad being moved into St Anthony’s during Covid, we, as a family, find it difficult to give a detailed review of the home at this current time. It has been a very frustrating time for us due to visiting restrictions. We have found the staff very accommodating although there does seem to have been
a lot of staff changes during the last 12 months. The care Dad is receiving seems to be good, and the staff are very approachable when we have had any issues. On the whole, we are pleased with dad’s care.

My mother is currently on respite at St Anthony’s Residential Home, and the standard of care she receives is excellent. The whole team are extremely caring and professional and when I visit I am always made to feel welcome. Meals are nutritional and varied and the residents have a programme of daily
activities if they wish to participate. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff in whatever capacity and are always there to help and advise. I genuinely feel reassured my mother is in a kind, caring and homely environment. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Party was celebrated with the residents and family in the spacious garden where again the staff worked above and beyond to make the day a success.

My Nan is currently on respite within St Anthony's Residential Home (Erdington) and the care from the staff has been extremely good. Nan has asked to stay for a couple more weeks as she is having a great time, she said that the food is great and the staff always have time to chat with her.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.247)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.247) out of 10 for St Anthony's Residential Home (Erdington) Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.650 for St Anthony's Residential Home (Erdington) Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (56 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 80 Ratings = 4.65

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.597 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Anthony's Residential Home (Erdington) Ltd is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 39 registered maximum number of service users is 7.8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.8 = 0.897

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
