Digby Manor Care Home is a MULTI AWARD WINNING Care Home located in the residential area of Erdington, Birmingham and provides a warm and inviting residential care setting to the elderly and adults with dementia.

Residents have access to the tranquil and peaceful garden setting at the back of the home. Inside the home there are two large communal lounge areas, a conservatory and dining room for socialising and relaxing.

The home prides itself on the warm, friendly and caring nature that staff give to their residents to ensure they remain happy, content and as independent as possible. The dedicated and long-serving staff are active at addressing any issues, problems or anxieties residents face when moving into a new care environment.

My father first came to Digby in March 2018. From that very first day, staff went beyond their normal duties to make him feel at home. They offer an outstanding service that all other care homes should aspire to. Dad recently passed away and his care was again exemplary. Staff were respectful and caring
and dad loved them! We as a family are grateful that we found Digby and now count the staff as family!

I come three times a week to see my friend and am amazed by the people who work there. How caring, loving and considerate they all are from the top management to the cleaners and to the chefs for trying to persuade people with no appetite to eat and giving them lots of choices. Sing-a-longs are such
fun as are the games they play we all take part in them.
A fun place to live.

I visit weekly and my friend is always happy and enjoys many activities in the home. My friend really likes having her hair done with the regular hairdresser. They have their own salon. Very friendly environment.

Since Mum moved into Digby I cannot fault the care which she has received. Mom is happy and looks very well. The staff go above and beyond, not only in supporting the residents but also the relatives.

I stopped by Thursday evening to see my mother, who is a resident at the Digby Manor and walked in midway through a performance of Oliver that had been put on by the home with outside performers. My mom was sitting across the room from me and did not notice me come in. I did not want to disturb the
performance so I moved to the side and had the opportunity to observe my mom singing along and really enjoying herself with me being noticed.
It really struck me the amazing difference in my mom in such a short space of time. Mom has spent several months in hospital where, though well cared for, she was really just a shell of herself. Before that, she was at home trying to live independently but failing.
It was a really difficult thing to accept that we needed to have mom cared for. Finding a place you trust to look after the most valuable and vulnerable person in your life is not at all easy.
The short space of time mom has been in Digby Manor has made an incredible change for good with Mum. The anxiety she had over nearly everything, has disappeared. She looks amazing, with far more energy. I can put all of this down to the wonderful staff at Digby House. Ever cheerful and great banter with all the residents. Mom's never without an extra cushion or wrap (she is forever cold), even though everyone else is sweltering. Endless cups of tea which are essential to an old Irish woman, a really welcoming atmosphere, we visitors are never an inconvenience or in the way.
We may well be losing our lovely mother to Alzheimer's but it is great we do not have to worry at all about her care and wellbeing. Now she is safely ensconced in Digby Manor.

Since my uncle took up residence in April, his health has greatly improved and he has gained weight. The staff are incredibly patient and kind. They are very aware of his needs and are closely managed by the home's managerial staff. They maintain his personal needs as well as his physical and mental
needs. There is a good rapport between staff, residents and their families, which helps provide a very homely atmosphere.

Our aunt moved into Digby Manor 5 months ago she has settled in very well with the help of all the staff from office to kitchen, they all take time to talk to her and spend time with her she has made friends and enjoys the activities every week she loves having her hair done
we, as her family, are
very pleased we choose Digby Manor all the staff are really easy to talk to and very helpful if we have any questions about our aunt.
We visit any time day or night and she is always happy.
Overall, Digby Manor is clean good food and a very welcome place.
They always keep us informed of our aunt's progress.

I would highly recommend Digby Manor Residential Care Home as everyone who works at the home from management to the cleaners always seems to make a special effort to ensure that the residents feel at home. The staff is very friendly and always seems to go that extra mile, in order to meet the needs
of each resident. There is always some kind of activity going on each day for the residents to help keep them active and to create a cheerful social environment. Finally, it is always nice to go home knowing that your family member is going to be well looked after and will be sleeping in their own spacious and comfortable bedroom.

I cannot speak too highly of Digby Manor.
My aunt was treated with dignity, all the staff were very caring. The management go that extra mile, nothing was too much trouble. We were so sorry to have to leave but my aunt had to go to a nursing home.
We were all made to feel like family at Digby Manor.

I visited my friend at Digby Manor and it has a lovely atmosphere. They had a singer in who had all the residents enjoying themselves and the singer turned out to be the owner's wife. The home seems very family orientated. My friend seems very happy and content living here.

The staff and management at Digby Manor are all very attentive and caring. Working as a team looking after my mother-in-law very well. If she has the slightest ailment they are there for her.


They soon call in a doctor to check out the problem and prescribe any medication necessary. Nurses also attend

to any dressings required. My mother-in-law is very settled there. Improvements and decorating been done to the building is still ongoing.

Prior to arriving at the Home, he worked for his parents in the Care Sector and has led both strategically and operationally in various settings. Darren took his time to find 'the right home' before purchasing Digby Manor in March 2017. Community links are a big part of his vision for making Digby Manor the number one flagship home in the West Midlands and the various awards received to date show how well the Care Home is doing. Darren has big plans for the future of Digby Manor and with his long-standing and committed staff are striving for outstanding in all that they do in the delivery of person-centred care.

Jane is a mother of 2, with a daughter and a son who are now grown up and have families of their own. Jane is a proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren, whom she adores.
Jane started her career in a nursing home over 20 years ago and worked her way through her qualifications completing level 2, 3, 4 and leadership and management.
Jane always wanted to care for people even as a child and always wanted to help the less fortunate. During Jane’s studies her tutor advised her to go to University to study ‘nursing’, however Jane had other ideas and really wanted to make a difference.
As a child, Jane, was always around people with learning disabilities whom she would share holidays and social events. Jane felt this was the area that she wanted to pursue and to support people to make a difference. Jane worked her way up to become a Registered Manager.
In August 2017, Jane was appointed the Care Home Manager of Digby Manor and has been part of a magical experience since. Jane feels very passionate about her role and making a difference through ‘Good Quality Care.’ And so the journey continues for Digby Manor to be ‘outstanding’ in all areas by the regulator, CQC.


Lisa

Lisa Brettell

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 1997

Lisa has worked at Digby Manor for over 25 years! She worked her way up through the ranks starting as a part-time Domestic shortly after having had her daughter. She has worked in every area of Digby Manor and knows the environment inside and out. Lisa has completed NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care. Lisa has also completed her Team Leader Qualification, and she has completed a Level 2 in Dementia Care, End of Life Care, Nutrition and Equality and Diversity. Lisa is now currently working towards gaining a Level 5 in Health and Social Care. Lisa is part of the Management Team to ensure we deliver excellent standards of care for all our residents. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys socialising with friends, spending time with her family, especially her grandchild, who is her bundle of joy. Lisa is a long time fan of Digby Manor and loves being a part of something special and especially making a difference to peoples lives.


Kimberley

Kimberley Morris

Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager / Administrator

Kim is a qualified accountant and has been the Administrator at Digby Manor Residential Care Home since January 2018. Prior to working at Digby Manor, Kim worked for a major accountancy company in the city. She has also completed many of the in-house training courses offered at Digby Manor given her interest in working with people with dementia. Outside of work, Kim and her husband like to partake in lots of extracurricular activities with their son. Kim oversees all the administration of the care home and conducts the viewings of potential families/residents.
